It's a small restaurant but we were able to walk in without a reservation and get a table on a Saturday night. The service was great, we were in and out in under an hour. Every item that we had was delicious. We had the string bean appetizer and coconut shrimp. For entrees with both had a pad Thai variation and we got the coconut fried rice. Unassuming place when looking at the storefront, but once inside the decor was charming and cozy. But the real story was the food. Chicken Satay starter with peanut dipping sauce was excellent. Nicely flavored. The steamed pork dumplings were tender and flavorful and came with a ginger soy sauce that was awesome. Chicken Pad Thai and Coconut Crispy Chicken Pad Thai were excellent as well, seasoned perfectly and the noodles were so delicious. We took leftovers home and enjoy all over again during the week. Right downtown Wakefield. Very nice fellow helped us order and had our lunches prepped to our liking... Food was priced right, decent portion, rice was exceptional and food fresh. I had the crunchy tofu with vegetables spicy... it was perfect! Definitely cooked with love... I'd go back again. Only thing I wouldn't order is the hot green tea... it was just a tea bag in hot water mug... Got some take out for lunch and the food was ok. Loved their scallion pancakes, crispy and well seasoned, but they give you something like plain soy sauce to dip. C'mon, it's not difficult to make a nice blend of soy, hoisin, chili paste, sesame oil, mustard, etc....for dipping. I actually made it myself at the table. The garlic chicken stir fry was good, but nothing extraordinary. Very run of the mill. The sweet sausage fried rice was nicely seasoned and tasty. Not oily at all, this one I would get again. The raw cucumber pieces on this dish did not agree with me, I had to throw away a few of them, but the rice itself was a winner. Overall not a bad choice in Wakefield. read more

Everything we ordered was so delicious! Apps. Tom yam and Wanton soups were both great. Entrees: Pan yang curry was the best I've had in a long time. There were pineapple chunks that I thought would make it too sweet but it was a nice combination. Spicey Pad Thai with duck proved to be a winner, too. The duck was a full breast with crispy skin!!! Just when we thought we couldn't have another bite out came our sticky mango rice. Perfect ending !! So happy we discovered this restaurant. The owner couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We visited on the daylight savings day so I guess they forgot because at 12pm Sunday door was shut. Waited 20min before someone opened. Owners are husband and wife (cook) team. Luk Thai was solid. I got a to go order of Pad Thai chicken (4/5 spice), spicy papaya salad, and the fried rice with sausage. I thought everything was done well, good flavors, but it wasn't out of this world for me. The papaya salad was not spicy at all, so I'm not sure if they didn't hear me or if they just make it one way. I had asked what style their papaya salad is on the phone (more sweet with peanuts or closer to Lao style aka fishier/more pungent). It was definitely the more traditional Thai kind unfortunately but it was still well done with a great balance of sweet, sour, and salty. Pad Thai flavors were also good, with crushed peanut and lime. I like mine with bean sprouts, but it didn't come with any. And finally, the fried rice with sausage I thought was very tasty. Bonus points for being open on a Monday, which was my main reason for ordering here over another Thai place. read more

Ordered via Uber eats. Paid for priority delivery and driver was super fast, so I don't believe any issues have anything to do with delivery. Ordered edamame, didn't received it. Fried tofu was very undercooked, sweet sauce that was supposed to come with it was just soy sauce. Veggies in the curry dish were almost raw and the rice was dried out. My mom, who always loves wonton soup, said the wontons were very soft and seemingly had nothing inside. She threw it out. Truly the worst Thai food I've had read more

I stopped in here after a quick Google search looking for lunch while in the area around noon on a Monday. I was looking for something quick that I could take to-go and the staff here were incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. After a quick glance over the menu I decided on the Mango Curry with Chicken. Everything was incredibly fresh and layered with flavor. The spice level was perfect, the food was still plenty hot after a 15 minute drive to my next appointment and it was the perfect dish for a frigid late March day. Portion size was just right and I didn't feel the need for anything else but perhaps next time I'll ask for another side of the fantastic steamed rice that came with the curry. We go there periodically and the food is almost always good--well-prepared and flavorful. Portions are reasonable. All that said the service this time, as it frequently is, was awful. We walked in--no one in the restaurant serving area. We stood around a bit and then seated ourselves (other prior times we had been told just to find a table--which is fine). While seated two different wait staff people came out and gave menus and water to two tables of people who had come in after us. Both looked at us. Neither came over to give us water and menus. After a while I went to the back and politely asked the one that was there if someone was going to give us menus given we had been there longer than a few that came in after us and had been given menus. He rudely asked if anyone had seated us? Really? This is a small restaurant that had about four full tables at that moment and no one greeted us to seat us. How long does one wait to be seated? And what was the relevance of the question? Do you want us to order (buy something) or not? Eventually he did serve us and shot me a dirty look. I probably tipped far too much for this lousy service. I will add this is the same person who on a previous visit never asked if food was ok nor bothered to bring a bill. I had to ask for in the back--I did disturb his playing on his cell phone that day. I will add I am always fascinated by all the electric cords hanging near tables, some held up by tape that looks like it will fail soon. Where is the fire marshal is something I wonder? read more

Was passing thru the area and decided to give this a try, based on reviews. They have hoison and fish sauce on the table. Kinda excited as I was hopeful the food would be authentic and tasty. We ordered the snapper, hot soup and appetizer platter. Fresh roll was tasty and exactly as pictured in the reviews, curry puff was just okay, spring roll was good, fish had a beautiful presentation (it was ok) and the soup (with duck) had few pieces of duck (for $10). We've gotten take out twice now and feel it is the best Thai restaurant currently operating in Rhode Island. Very complex sauces and beautifully presented. The online ordering system is thorough, easy and customizable. I rarely give five stars but this is a great asset to our local dining options. Big hits have been the crispy fried dumplings, pork satay, yellow curry and Massaman curry. The Crab Rangoon, which you can order free as an add-on with just about any order, was surprisingly delicious. The garlic green beans are also noticeably tasty. read more

I am a hard man to please with Thai food as it's my favorite cuisine and a bad Thai visit means I'm likely not returning. No worries here as I found myself with a friend who had discovered it while living in Jamestown and she is a Thai aficionado as well. The inside is rather small, maybe uncomfortably so on a busy day, but we were one of just a few people seated for a late dinner. The menu had many classic selections and was priced on average with other Thai places. It was brought out quickly and hot and was quite flavorful. This was a sweet little find on a drive back from Westerly... We came for a late lunch on a quiet Sunday and were among only two other tables being served. Needless to say, our service was attentive and quick and our server very friendly. Great Thai flavor and nice spicy heat from the hot basil shrimp, green papaya salad and shrimp tom yum soup. The tod mun pla (Thai fish cakes) were refreshingly a little different than others I have tried recently with a burst of citrus flavor that I really enjoyed. Whether from the lime leaves or maybe lemon grass it kind of stands out as a striking pop of flavor. I missed the pretty dipping sauce adorned with chopped cucumber but the simple sauce that accompanied it had the same great flavor. The best part of the meal... dessert! Sticky rice with mango - this is just a magical combination if you have never tried it - it's addictive. Luk Thai did it justice with perfectly ripe mango, and deliciously sweet/salty sauce and toasted sesame seeds. I could imagine this being a cozy & intimate setting for dinner/date. We had fresh flowers at our table and there were candles for later lighting. With the warm colors and wood paneling I imagine a nice cozy vibe. I will be back for sure. read more

They offer some of the best Thai food I have ever had. My first experience was at Luk That II, which was in Coventry. Unfortunately that didn't last long as the restaurant was in a horrible location. At the time, the chef from this location was cooking there to help open it up and the food was delicious. Now that it is closed, the cook is back at this location in Wakefield. The Chicken Pad Thai is some of the best I have had. If you like a nice peanut taste with your Pad Thai, you should love this. The only place I like better for Pad Thai is Thai Excursion in Warwick, but that is mainly because Thai Excursion knows how to make a mean spicy Pad Thai. I like spice and 3 out of 5 stars at Thai Excursion will have you break out into a sweat. The hottest level at Luk Thai doesn't even compare, but it is still very tasty. Like others have said, the Crispy Pad Thai is great. A nice break from the traditional Pad Thai. Just don't order it to go, as it will be "Soggy" Pad Thai by the time you get it home. The Crab Rolls are better than any Crab Rangoon's around. You know you aren't going to get skimped on the filling in each one. The Fresh Roll's are light, crispy and a nice switch from the Nime Chow I get at other restaurants. Tofu Triangles are nice and hot. It's Tofu, fried - nothing else to really say. They have peanut sauce, sweet chili sauce, and a peanut sweet chili sauce just to name a few. They are all delicious and if you love dipping, you should be all set. I have only been to the Wakefield location once so far as I don't live close by but the food is the same as what they served at Luk Thai II. It was in the middle of the day and we were the only ones there, so the service was quick and the food came out nice and hot. BYOB is a big plus and the waitress was a sweetheart. The only Thai restaurant I enjoy more than this is Thai Excursion in Warwick, but Thai Excursion doesn't have Crab Roll's and Luk Thai does. If you are in the area stop by, even if just for a couple appetizers to try out the place. The prices are extremely reasonable and it won't put a big dent in your wallet. I'll be back there soon even though I have other Thai restaurants closer to where I live. Next time I go back I'm going to have to give the Drunken Noodles a try and some of the other appetizers to how they stack up. read more

This place has improved a lot since I last came here. It's a "seat yourself" more of a restaurant. It's small and everyone's friendly. The placemats are Sports Trivia which I was playing while waiting for my food. The fresh rolls are amazingly fresh and they give you different meat choices to go with it!! I got the pad mama kee mao which was impeccable and my boyfriend got the hot basil pad Thai. Our plates were loaded with food and we have leftovers for the rest of the week!
