After a long day of travel we were on the lookout for anything close to our hotel and we were pleasantly surprised. Our pickup order was made fast and the employee was very nice. The food was fantastic, flavored nicely and really satisfying.

I have been two times to this spot. I will say, it's a little pricey but the food is great and the portions are quite large. Despite the large menu, the food comes out very quick. Would recommend.

    Hot Basil Fried Rice

We ordered hot basil fried rice with pork and received hot basil pad thai with tofu. We also ordered pad mama kee mao with tofu and received pad mama kee mao with chicken. The crab rangoons we ordered were okay but not great. And the edamame was good. Such a shame cause we've ordered here before and haven't had issues.

Simply Thai is a mainstay, and a frequent spot for me during my college days. Out of all the spots at the URI Emporium, Simply Thai is the best. The answer is in its name: they keep it simple, and they serve authentic Thai (or as they explain in the restaurant, "Thai Street Food"). There are quite a few dishes to recommend. The Pad Thai, the Pad See Ew, and the Pho Noodles Soup all come to mind. The Pad Thai is pleasantly sweet, and doesn't skimp on the veggies. The Pho Noodles Soup is both impressive in size and flavor, with a rich beef broth and plenty of noodles. I've tried many times to replicate the broth and it is simply impossible; they get it right. This is the type of soup you want when you have a cold, and it's glorious. With many perfect dishes, I still return to the same dish: Drunken Noodles, Extra Spicy, with tofu. I'm not a vegetarian, but their tofu is out of this world. Crispy outside & creamy inside, and porous enough to absorb some of that unbelievable Drunken Noodle sauce. The noodles are thick & pleasant; just beyond al dente, with enough integrity to absorb the sauce and still remain in tact. The veggies are cooked perfectly, so that they still have a bite to them and aren't mushy. What I love most about this place is how fresh the food is. It's plated straight out of a wok and served to the table piping hot. It's just the thing a college kid needs when they miss home & need a hot, comforting meal (or when you're returning to URI and miss school).

Perfect spot for quick, easy, delicious, and inexpensive takeout in these COVID times. My husband and my favorites are mango fresh rolls, Pad Thai, and Mango Curry. But everything we've had has been so tasty. You can't go wrong. The staff is friendly. You can order online easily and everything is ready in 15 minutes or less.

Simply Thai is the best food in Kingston. We eat here or order takeout probably 4 times a month.

The restaurant has a very calming atmosphere inside and while small, even has outdoor seating. Drinks/apps: we always start off with Thai iced teas, these are a must. They are sweet but not overly so, and go very well with any dish you order. We also love the spring rolls, mango fresh rolls, and our favorite, the curry puffs. They are flakey and filled with sweet/savory vegetable flavors. Of course we also get the edamame because it's a nice little snack. Entrees: my current favorite is the malay noodle soup, it comes out steaming hot and is so creamy and filling. There is plenty of beef and wonderful steamed broccoli that soaks up the flavor of the soup. I also love the Rad Na, which is an assortment of steamed vegetables in a gravy-like curry. This one is perfect for colder months, since it really warms you up. My bf has gotten various curries and the vermicelli trio which he has enjoyed very much as well. Dessert: we haven't tried any dessert here because we end up getting so full from the other dishes! Each time we go I anticipate that I will need to be carried out, because I will probably go into a food coma. TL;DR: For those visiting Newport, do not pass up trying this place if you're not in the mood for the overwhelming amount of seafood restaurants located here. You can't really go wrong with any dish, make sure to get Thai iced teas and you will leave really full and happy :)

Crispy spring rolls A+, Asian chicken wings A+, Beef and chicken drunken noodles A+. My advice: 1. ask for extra sauce for the chicken wings. Note that they are really big wings...this is a shareable appetizer. 2. The crispy spring rolls are incredible. A single order is four small rolls. 3. Their drunken noodles are packed with meat and vegetables. We ask for extra noodles to balance it out. We highly recommend this place. We travel on our boat full time, so once we find our favorite spots, we crave them. Thai cuisine is a place we love!
