Tsunami roll (left) Spicy Masa Roll* (right)

My husband, FIL, and FIL's wife went to dinner here, and had a great time. We had a reservation and were seated a few minutes after arriving. Our server, Amelia, was super nice and quick to get our order. We all got Diet Coke to drink. Great brew, and they kept the refills coming as needed. For food, we shared the gyoza and calamari to start. I loved the gyoza. We got it pan seared and it had almost a smoky flavor to it. Super yummy. Calamari was good too. I liked the sauce it was with. For the rolls, we shared the Jenny, tsunami, spicy masa, cococabana, and the Vegas. Each one had great flavor and the fish tased fresh. The inside here is cute but really big and the acoustics carry. Overall, I'd highly recommend going here for a good sushi dinner.

I went to Tsunami in Midvale for a professional lunch with two colleagues and was impressed from the start. We had a reservation and were seated quickly in a calm, dimly lit space that felt elegant and perfect for conversation, though parking was a bit tough during the lunch hour. We started with the calamari, which was crispy, delicious, and paired perfectly with their tasty creamy dipping sauce. I ordered the Vegas roll and the Sunshine roll, and both were packed with fresh, bold flavors. Adding a little eel sauce to the Sunshine roll was a game-changer--so good that I'll be ordering it again moving forward. Service was flawless from start to finish, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. Any sushi lover should make their way to Tsunami for excellent rolls, delicious appetizers, and a refined lunch atmosphere.

Japanese style double IPA, 8% ABV which feels lighter. Hint of rice taste.

After watching a movie at the theater across the parking lot, we were hungry. There were several restaurants in the area. This one looked interesting. There was no wait around 8 PM and we were seated in the upper level. The atmosphere was quiet and although the service was a little bit slow, we were happy with the food. We started with edamame and shishito peppers as well as miso soup. The yellowtail and spicy yellowtail hand rolls were really nice. Our son had the teriyaki chicken dinner and we shared the spicy masa roll along with sashimi style salmon and tuna. $110 for three is very reasonable.

Been here many times. Like the Ft. union location in particular. No wait when we arrived before 7pm on a Friday night. Good music and service. FOOD My husband and I been ordering and sticking to our favorites for years - Short ribs - Executive roll - Coconut Glory. For the first time I ordered the chicken katsu and it is a huge value for the price, $15.99. It comes with miso soup, chicken with no grisly bits smashed flat, just good clean chicken filet. There's salad, lots of rice, tempura veggies and two potstickers plus BBQ sauce and broth for dipping. Highly recommend the Chicken Katsu.

Tsunami is always a go-to for delicious and fresh sushi. They have a very big menu too and options for everybody. The service is good too! Just know what it can be slower on the weekends because they are so busy! The fire breathing dragon and DTH were my favorites but all of the sushi rolls our group had were super delicious. The Vegas is always a staple and was super yummy. I am always impressed with Tsunami and how fresh and flavorful everything is. It's definitely some of the best sushi around!

Huge rolls with tons of fish, we shared a variety of rolls and couldn't finish. The fish was fresh and tasteful, the rolls were well created and maintained structure through transport. Would go again for sure. 2 edamame, 5 rolls was less than $100. Easy takeout service

We have a tradition of Christmas Eve sushi at tsunami! This year we had to go a few days early because of family obligations, but we wouldn't have missed it for the world! 4 years in a row this is where we've chosen to eat and it also one of our favorite date night spots! The food was phenomenal and the service was excellent as usual! Even our little guys couldn't get enough of our amazing server! For sure coming back here as soon as we can!

For date night, my partner and I went to Tsunami for sushi. I used to think sushi was always gluten free and delicious. Turns out, I was wrong. Tsunami has a gluten free menu and the main menu is labeled with GF and V. They offer tamari instead of standard soy sauce. We were able to walk right in and sit at the bar, which works well for us. We ordered the GF PD, samurai, and sunshine rolls. They were delicious and fresh. Our server was excellent, attentive when we needed something and scarce when we did not. She made a very good green dragon cocktail. I really enjoyed the cocktail with its interesting flavor profile. Location is conveniently off the freeway in Fort Union. There's ample parking. The restaurant is clean and nice. I will be back when we're in town. Thank you for the enjoyable date!

Do you still have happy hour and what are the hours if so?

Hey there! Yes, we've got a great Happy Hour going on Tuesday through Friday from 2pm to 4pm! Our menu's got a little something for everyone--think tasty edamame, hearty chicken donburi bowls, and some of our favorite sushi rolls, all at awesome…

    Do they have brown rice?

Nadia- Thank you for your question. We do not offer brown rice, as we have opted to use only the more traditional white sushi rice in our recipes. We hope to see you soon!

Does this sushi offers an all you can eat option?

No. They prefer quality over quantity.

Throughout the years I have heard great things about Mint so for our wedding anniversary my husband and I decided to finally try it out! I am so glad we did. Not only was it nice to skip the hassle of parking downtown but the food was great. Our server was amazing, with it being our first time she gave us a rundown of the menu and highlighted some favorites. The atmosphere of the restaurant was dim and chill. We ordered miso soups, the jalapeño hamachi, the beef tataki, the moonlight roll, and the apollo roll. I also ordered their sparkling sake which was a special and I loved it. The miso soups were delicious and priced well. The jalapeño hamachi is an award winning dish and I can see why. It was SO good. My husband actually saved the vinaigrette to try with other dishes. We also enjoyed the beef tataki, I did feel like it was a little on the chewy side but overall good. We loved the moonlight roll, the flavors and sweetness were good, I did feel like it was missing heat from the spicy tuna. The apollo roll was good, this roll also had spicy tuna and it was definitely hotter. Mint met our expectations and will definitely be a contender for our next sushi date night.

If you're looking for good sushi, Mint is probably not the place. However, if you're looking for…read morereally good Tapas, Mint is definitely the place! Mint has an extensive menu of small sharing plates, and everything I've tried was something that I enjoyed, including: the lollipop lamb chops, sable fish, jalapeno hamachi, and baked mussels. These things were all delicious, flavorful, and fairly portioned for the price. My favorite is between the lamb chops (I just love lamb) and the hamachi (the sauce is really good!). I'm sure that if I were to visit again and order any other tapas, I'd like them, too! But unfortunately, for a restaurant with "sushi" in the name, the sushi menu is surprisingly unappealing. (Side note: I like the naming convention of the rolls, but they're not descriptive, and it makes the restaurant's already-lacking theme more incohesive.) All of the sushi rolls on the menu have repeating ingredients, even more so than other sushi restaurants, so there's not much reason to order multiple rolls because they're pretty much all the same roll. During this visit, I noticed there were no options for nigiri or sashimi (which I prefer when going out for sushi), so we only got tapas and rolls--and honestly, we should have only gotten tapas. The restaurant was chilly and dim, so I wasn't really eager to be there awhile, but luckily the food came out quickly. Overall, I had a good experience, but I wouldn't say my experience with Mint was anything to write home about. If I were to dine at Mint again, it would be for their lovely sushi-making class, a unique and fun experience that any sushi lover would enjoy.
