Bento Box sides @ Tsunami Sushi.

Great Experience @ Tsunami Sushi in Moses Lake, WA. !! First time patrons to this local Sushi Restaurant on a Monday for an early dinner. Service was attentive and no-nonsense. Many employees were on hand and busy cooking, cleaning, and filling several to-go orders. The restaurant itself had curb appeal and was very clean with minimal decor. We had all the necessary utensils and condiments. Food was absolutely delicious, as seen in pictures. Sushi was flavorful and made well. I couldn't decide what I wanted and asked if a Bento Box was available even though it was not on the menu. Our server accommodated my request and said he would make it happen. I was very pleased with what he brought! The chicken and steak were tender, great side of veggies, the panko fish was fresh with a great crunch, tasty gyoza and California roll. Yum! When we were done, Server 'T' had the check on hand and retrieved a box for leftovers. We were happy with the service, meal, and atmosphere. Thank you.

The food is amazing! I love the Seattle roll & the California roll! My favorite thing to drink there is the citrus sake with a seaweed salad! So good! My whole Oder is around $31.50 the California roll is $6 the Seattle roll is $12 The citrus sake is $9.50 and a seaweed salad is $3 or $4.

We came across this small restaurant during our trip this past weekend to Moses Lake. I was intrigued to find a Japanese sushi restaurant in a town as small as Moses Lake. Our expectations were not high, all things considered, and I can say that the food basically matched our expectations. We got a crunchy shrimp roll to share as an appetizer, which was pretty good. The sushi roll was big and the ingredients were fresh enough. The Chicken Katsu and Chicken Yakisoba were average and not very impressive. The Chicken Katsu cutlet was dry and came with this weird white sauce (Tartar sauce?) instead of the usual Katsu sauce. The only thing that stood out about this meal was the price, the Chicken Katsu was $17 and the Chicken Yakisoba was $15. The price to food quality ratio was not good, and I ended up regretting spending nearly $50 for such a basic and average meal. Food is generally cheaper on the Eastern side of Washington state, which is why this restaurant caught me off guard. Overall, the food was generally uneventful but the prices were high. We will definitely be skipping over this restaurant if we are ever in town again.

We were passing by and need to grab something to eat. We gave this place a try. The sushi here are pretty decent. We tried four different rolls and they are not too bad. I have eaten a lot of sushi, so I can do a good retaliation and have high expectations. This place does not rank at the top of my list but definitely close to the top. The waiter was difficult to understand but very nice. The restroom was clean and smelled good. The downside was their floor was very sticky and poor ventilation so we smelled like we were in the kitchen after we left there.

Food was poor quality. Burnt taste to oil used for noodles items not as ordered undercooked seafood. Place has really gone downhill.

From service to wait time to the cost of the smallest portions of food is horrendous. The food is delicious, but that's it.

My wife and I discontinued eating here several months ago after having an issue with a piece of…read moresashimi which was obviously mishandled. When I quietly brought the issue up to management, the server really didn't seem to care. Buyer beware. Please see the article release below. This is not the first time they have had fairly significant health safety violations. MOSES LAKE - A recent food safety inspection at Sumo Hibachi & Sushi in Moses Lake resulted in a score of 76, with multiple violations noted by inspectors from the Grant County Health District. The routine inspection, conducted April 15, 2026, identified several food safety concerns, including improper cooling procedures and temperature control issues that inspectors said could increase the risk of foodborne illness. Among the most serious violations, inspectors observed prepackaged noodles at 90 degrees stored in a walk-in cooler after being heat-treated but still sealed in packaging, preventing proper cooling. The report notes this "creates conditions favorable for the growth of harmful pathogens," and the noodles were voluntarily discarded during the inspection. Inspectors also found cooked eel being stored at room temperature--approximately 70 degrees--instead of being held at safe cold temperatures of 41 degrees or below. The report warned that improper storage of time/temperature control for safety (TCS) foods can lead to rapid bacterial growth and potential foodborne illness. Additional violations included missing date markings on salmon and beef removed from original packaging, incomplete parasite destruction records for certain fish, and improper storage of utensils, including tongs submerged in food. Staffing and certification issues were also noted. Following a change in management, inspectors found no employee with a certified food protection manager credential, which is required. In addition, one worker was found to have an invalid food worker card. According to the inspection report, several issues were corrected on-site, including the disposal of unsafe food and proper storage of utensils. Other violations were given correction deadlines, and a follow-up inspection has been scheduled for May 5, 2026. The health district emphasized proper cooling procedures in its report, stating that cooked foods must be cooled from 135 degrees to 70 degrees within two hours and then to 41 degrees or below within a total of six hours to prevent bacterial growth. Inspection records show this is not the first time the establishment has faced issues. Previous routine inspections scored 65 in September 2025 and 45 in February 2025, with follow-up inspections conducted after each.

With prices they charge they should bend over backwards to help customers and most interactions they seem to not enjoy their jobs. When you walk in the girls at the desk look at you and ask, 'Can I help you?' as if you're walking into a hair salon... what's wrong with these people? Service is poor quality, prices really high. The food is of below-average taste and looks. If you try one of the 'real' sushi restaurants (Seattle / Federal Way, etc), this place cannot come close and charges the same prices as Seattle and located in the middle of the desert! I heard there were some problems after recent inspection by the health department and not surprised.

We always order the carne asada with a mango margarita or amber beer. We always love the complimentary chips and salsa. Their salsa is more on the spicy side but so good. A nice cold beverage calms down the spice. The carne asada is always perfectly seasoned and flavorful. We like that they ask us how we like our steak, medium rare. The price reflected what you receive. I had the special, chicken mole. While the chicken was cooked decently, I don't think I've ever had such a bland tasting mole sauce. The aroma was good but misleading. I was a tad confused by the mole almost smelling like BBQ sauce. The refried beans were incredibly bland and the shredded lettuce thing, I didn't like. Odd flavor. Maybe a stiff margarita would have made it all better. Service was mediocre. Had to ask for water three times. The waitress was very disengaged and missed other things we ordered. But the ambiance is really cool. Very colorful local-artist kind of vibe. It also appears they accommodate large groups pretty well.
