Amazing quality nigiri for great price! The teriyaki chicken was dry and soul-less The pork belly was phenomenal. The citrus sauce paired well with it. Fantastic service Beautiful and clean dining space Gotta come back to try their sashimi

Sushi is delicious. Had some of the Shrimp Shumai. Was good. But the chicken teriyaki is pretty bad. I'm not even sure the chicken was cooked through. No char on it. Chicken isn't marinating. It was abysmal.

Last Wednesday night we reserved a family table for ten at "Iwa" in downtown Wenatchee. Iwa has been the premier Sushi Spot since opening in 2009. The high ratings are not only due to the quality of food and service--insiders know how highly the community regards "Lin", the owner. Ok, nonetheless, we arrived at 7:30pm and were the last to leave just after 9:00. Our group managed to order a cross section of most everything on the menu, including several unique cold Saki's. I love sushi and enjoy the most challenging raw options available, including Uni, oysters, and fish roe. But tonight I ordered seafood noodle soup and vegetable tempura (no, I'm not vegan)--see the pics. The tempura was hot and crisp, obviously right out of the hot oil fryer...oh my gawd, it was delicious. It balanced the deep flavor the broth (with salt and pepper added), of course. Iwa recently took over the space next to it and is twice the size of the original restaurant--how many restaurants can say that, post pandemic?!?! Okay, I admit to ordering raw Yellowtail Sashimi and Tobi-Tama (Flying Fish Roe with a raw quail egg on top)...gotta show the light-weights that grandpa can handle it! Ha. This was our first night back after living in Seattle for several years, and you can tell by the photos, we had a blast. It felt like old-home-week, being served by the same waitress that started with Lin originally! Yaay !

    Salmon sushi, sushi rolls

Have heard high praise about this place, so i was eager to try it out. I wasn't impressed. The service was OK. I ordered my usual at a sushi place, including extra wasabi and ginger. When my meal came, i had to ask for it again. But the servers were friendly enough. The place was clean and quiet, despite a larger party being in the house. I ordered salmon sushi, miso soup, and salmon rolls. I felt the soup was mediocre at best. The nori on the rolls was soft with crispness to it, no snap. The salmon sushi was ok, but there seemed very little contrast to me between the fish and the rice. I would say that i am in no hurry to return.

Awesome service and delicious rolls! We came here for dinner and we were seated right away, the restaurant was clean and my children loved the fish tank. We had the godzilla, salmon, spicy salmon, tempura shrimp, and the castle rock roll and every one was amazing! We also had the seaweed salad and that was deli too. I highly recommend this place, and can't wait to eat here again next time we visit!

Very lively little sushi restaurant in the heart of downtown. Pretty good rolls for the most part. They had really fresh fish. The poke bowl was on special and it was really tasty. Not a too expensive but fair priced sushi. Really good portion sizes and they have lunch specials as well. The staff are friendly and facility is clean. Definitely family friendly.

Been coming here since I was a kid and it's still one of my favorite sushi spots! This time I tried a different roll than usual called the Pearl Roll and I think it will be my new go to! The portions are great here too... also the new remodel is so nice especially the outdoor space. Service is always wonderful as well.

On a late night drive from the Westside to Chelan it can be challenging to find good food that you can order to go. So we were glad to have stumbled upon someone else's yelp review that recommended this place. We ordered just before close of business and shocker......they didn't say "We're about to close in 15 minutes", they took our order and we're happy to provide us with our food. And it was a really good. One would definitely question sushi in Wenatchee, but I can vouch for this place. We will be back!

I remember when her two sons took over the business, and I was delighted this August when "mama" visited on a Friday evening and sat down with me, and we reminisced together. I brought my adult son and we once again enjoyed some old favorites: Curried Beef, Combo Fried Rice, Phō, Mushroom Chicken and Salad. The signature attraction of Cuc Tran is their time-honored authenticity. Whether you eat in or take out, you can depend on the always hot and full-flavored profiles of every entrée. I know this sounds like an advertisement, but I have to give credit where it's due--every dish tastes exactly the same as every other time I've ordered it. The consistency is what keeps me coming back. This café is hidden at the rear of the entryway--you have to penetrate the storefront to find it. The locals know it well, but if you're new in town, you'll have to search the address. Once inside, you'll find adequate booth seating with large table surface areas and sauce racks with menus ready... (see pics) ...and if you're lucky, you'll meet "mama"!

The food at this restaurant seems that way. One dish we had was the Chef's Fried Rice. You could tell there was a premade batch of base fried rice to which they added some meat at the bottom of the plate and then put a scoop of the base rice on top. It clearly wasn't all fried together in a wok like most restaurants would do. Order a different fried rice and get different meat at the bottom of the plate with a scoop of the same base fried rice poured on top. The pho was also like a base soup which could go any number of directions depending on what the customer ordered. Pho is just the rice noodles added to the bowl plus the combination of meats that the customer ordered. Just pour the broth on top of all that and that's your bowl of pho. Unlike a pho you would find in a big city pho place you could tell it wasn't based on a typical pho broth made of beef, but maybe mostly less expensive and more easily sourced chicken or pork bones. Big city or small city, perhaps that's no excuse for not having a characteristic pho broth since we frequent the single pho restaurant in the mid-Columbia River Gorge area (with a fraction of the population) and its broth is spot on with the characteristic beefy pho flavor. The food here did satisfy the need for a decent meal. Our order of pho was wrong but it was quickly corrected. Service here was good.

Unfortunately, I was on a work trip, but I could imagine this being the first stop then walking off the food. It is on the smaller side of restaurants, but the evening I visited, there was a party of 8 seated towards the back. I'd recommend parties of 2-4 max, but they can accommodate more if it's a slower night. The service was good, nothing over the top, but nothing below average. As soon as I entered, I was greeted and sat at one of the high tops. This high top was on the smaller side, but since I was just a party of one, it was reasonable and I another high top right next to me to use as well. The food came out pretty quickly, which was nice and they were easy to reach if I needed anything. Very welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the crab Rangoon, crispy chicken Thai basil, and a Thai Iced coffee. The server recommended the crab Rangoon when I asked her which she would choose between the shrimp rolls, spicy crispy chicken wings, or the crab Rangoon. They were solid, nothing crazy, but good. The crispy chicken Thai basil was decent as well; again nothing over the top, but the right portion with some heart shaped rice to go with it. In my opinion, it could use a little more spice. I went with the medium, but it was definitely not spicy at all, so I requested the spice tray to fix that. The Thai iced coffee was exactly what I would want it to taste like. Yes, I would recommend this place. Keep the party smaller. I'll have to try another dish on my next trip out here.

We also enjoyed the honey walnut prawns and sweet and sour chicken- tender, juicy and full of flavor! The fried rice was a complete bust for me- hubby said it was just ok. Also sampled some nigiri which was Devine. The fish was good quality and melted in your mouth. Wouldn't say the portions are huge or anything (but prices are very affordable)- didn't come home with any leftovers besides the fried rice lol But we will definitely be back!!!! Update: we've been in many times now and it's always great- hands down our favorite restaurant in the area! We love the staff, they are all so sweet and enthusiastic! The Nigiri may quite possibly be the BEST I've ever had and I'm kind of a sushi snob. Nice pieces of fish on the perfect amount of rice (not too much!). The spicy edamame is a fan favorite as well! If I had to summarize the restaurant in one sentence, I'd say it's a perfectly acceptable steak and sushi house with good service and fair prices, but the quality of the food didn't fully live up to the way it was presented or advertised. First, I want to give credit where it's due. The staff was genuinely friendly throughout the evening. From the moment we walked in, everyone was welcoming, attentive, and professional. Drinks were refilled consistently, food came out at a reasonable pace, and the servers checked in enough to make sure things were going well without becoming intrusive. In today's world, good customer service feels harder and harder to find, so I absolutely appreciated the effort the staff put into making the experience pleasant. The atmosphere was also about what you would expect from a modern steak and sushi restaurant. It had a nice energy to it, clean dining areas, decent lighting, and a casual upscale vibe that worked well for a dinner out. Pricing was another positive. Compared to many steak houses today, the menu prices felt relatively reasonable. Nothing seemed outrageously overpriced, especially considering they also offer sushi and a broader menu than a traditional steakhouse. If you are looking for a place that won't completely destroy your wallet for a night out, this place lands somewhere in the middle ground. Not cheap, but not painfully expensive either. That said, the biggest issue for me was the steak itself. I ordered what was advertised as a filet, and honestly, I left questioning whether it truly was filet mignon. Anyone who regularly eats filet knows it is typically one of the leanest and most tender cuts of beef available. The steak I received was surprisingly fatty, with a texture and appearance that felt much more like a lower-grade sirloin or another less expensive cut. I understand that marbling can vary, and I'm not expecting perfection every single time, but this felt noticeably off from what should reasonably be expected when ordering a filet. To be clear, the steak was not terrible. It was edible, cooked reasonably close to the requested temperature, and had decent flavor overall. But when a restaurant advertises a premium cut of beef, customers naturally expect that cut to match the description. That disconnect between expectation and reality was the biggest disappointment of the night for me. It honestly felt more like a steakhouse serving "good enough" versions of premium items rather than truly delivering premium quality. The sushi was fine, though nothing especially memorable. Fresh enough, decent presentation, and about what you would expect from a restaurant trying to balance both steakhouse and sushi menus under one roof. No major complaints there, but also nothing that would specifically make me return for the sushi alone. At the end of the day, this place falls into the category of "solid but forgettable." If you go in expecting a casual steak and sushi dinner with decent service and fair pricing, you will probably leave satisfied enough. But if you are specifically going for a high-end steak experience or expecting true steakhouse-quality filet mignon, you may end up disappointed like I was. Would I come back? Maybe, but I'd probably try something different on the menu next time instead of ordering the filet again.
