    Strawberry Shaved Ice
    Hanna H.

A hidden gem I didn't know about, but ended up loving! I honestly think this may be my new go-to ramen shop now. The Paiten was very rich and flavorful, and the noodles were just the right texture. Usually I can't get myself to slurp up a lot of soup broth but this time it was just so good I couldn't resist. It was the perfect bowl of goodness, just what I needed. I also heard that people who know good ramen, come here! Unlike spots that are just hyped on social media, this is the real deal. When I also came in the summertime, they had this shaved ice that was seriously to die for. I heard their ice machine was from Japan, and it made the ice so fluffy and soft, it was like I was eating clouds. We got the strawberry, which was a very refreshing flavor to end the night with. It was also topped with I believe, salted cheese foam which was really the cherry on top for this dessert! Well done! I would come back just for this shaved ice dessert, and even get an extra bowl of the salted cheese foam on the side.

In 2024 they have got their operation dialed now, and the truffle shoyu is one of my favorite bowls of ramen to get in the Boston area. The pork shoyu is also delicious and I love the wavy noodle but I tend to like the lighter truffle shoyu. Each bowl is crafted fresh with quality ingredients and both the broth and noodles are very good. I come here monthly for lunch on weekdays and have not run into long wait times like I have in the past.

Such a great area and place for ramen! This place made it to my favorite ramen place. I'd make the drive back up from rhode island for ramen. I had the truffle chicken shoyu ramen. The broth was so good, savory, and cozy. It didn't have an abundance of condiments and was simple, had a great flavor. The soup did have hints of truffles and you could smell it every time you lifted the spoon to your mouth ~ I have saw nothing lacking in my meal. There is a self serving water station. The same station is self serving for utensils and condiments if you wish to add to your ramen (not necessary for me because it was already so good).

This is a must try ramen spot in the greater Boston area with undeniable quality. The price of a bowl is marginally pricier than other ramen shops in the area when you add the standard fixings but any doubts regarding valve left my body with my first sip of the broth. Everything was perfectly cooked and a real treat to the palate. The menu is shorter so I can't wait to get to all the items!

Best ramen in the Boston area. For real! The guys working behind the counter are very nice and friendly as well. Recommend 1000 times!! My boyfriend loves to add extra everything to his Ramen so we kinda do a combination of the Tan Tan and Spicy paytan.

Rating: 4.5 Came to try their ramen since we were craving for some ramen. It's a small ramen shop located near Davis Square in Cambridge. Street parking available with some other shops along the area. Seatings are limited and you order when you go in and get a tag and wait for order to come out. Water and utensils are self service. They have a good system to get people in and out quickly. I ordered Tan tan men. Order came in just 5 minutes or so. Tan tan men was exactly what I was looking for. Umami flavor from sesame and pork broth kicks a punch with hint of spice. Noodle that is cooked just right with some waves that incorporate the broth and soaks the flavor. Topping was minimal but onsen egg create creaminess and mild out the broth while cilantro and ground pork adds to he flavor. The food was excellent. Overall the place was pretty good and I was happy with my visit. Good place to go if you want solid ramen. Only down side was that its far from where i'm located and on higher price range for ramen then what I'm used to.

Top five places to get ramen in Boston! It was so flavorful and filling. When I went there weren't a ton of pork options so I went with the tamari pork shoyu ramen and I'm glad I did. The inside has plenty of seating and you pick your own table. Before that, you place an order with the cashier and wait for it to be brought to your table. I can't wait to go back and try the other options.

Spicy paitan noodle with extra egg

I have been meaning to try ramen in this place for a while, today I did it. Overall menu is simple there are only 4 different types of Ramen and bunch of extra toppings available. I ordered spicy paitan ramen. The noodle is thick and the broth packs umami flavors with hint of chicken. Chasiu pork was tender and the egg was spot on. The restaurant is spacious. There are 4 tables, 2 for 4 people and 2 for 2 people, about 5 barstool seats by the kitchen counter. They have water dispenser, paper cups, chopsticks, spoons and napkin ready on one corner.

    Truffle shangtan Shoyu Ramen

I really appreciate the care put into each element of Tsurumen's ramen the pork chasu is thinly sliced but tender, the menma (bamboo shoot) is flavorful and has the perfect bite, the red onion and scallion heighten the bowl's freshness with texture, and the NOODLES. Prepared in house, these noodles are perfectly cooked with different textures (thin or wavy) depending on the bowl you order! I also love how each bowl's broth has a uniqueness to them that are acheived through a smaller menu for quality purposes. I can proudly say that Tsurumen is definitely my comfort ramen spot Paitan broth is achieved through cooking chicken bones under high pressure to soften and emulsify directly into the broth. This process creates a broth that is rich, creamy, and full of chicken flavor While the paitan ramen was SUPER enjoyable, the truffle shangtan ramen had a lighter broth that served as a great foundation to highlight the black truffle you can gradually mix into the chicken broth. Tsurumen is another spot where you can't go wrong with any of your ramen choices here! It's also worth noting they have gluten free noodles for any with that food restriction and you can add an onsen (hot spring) poached egg to any ramen bowl! Their menu also often changes so I recommend giving @tsurumen1000 (instagram) a follow to stay up to date

    Seating sign

The service here is horrible. There is a sign outside the restaurant that says, "stop! Please wait here to be seated." So me and my family did, and then another family walks right into the restaurant and gets sat before us! Unbelievable, and make your sign correct. Horrible disgusting service, needs to be improved definitely

The ramen is very filling, and the service is quite quick. My broth was not as clean as I'd personally prefer.

One of the Boston-area's best ramen joints. On Mondays they've started to open up for a special, changing menu - a menu of one type of ramen that they'll sell until they sell out. I'm obsessed with this concept because it's cool to see the thoughtfulness and experimentation.. it must keep the chef/creator of the menu motivated. I had the pleasure of trying their yuzu shio, dipping ramen - a concentrated chicken/yuzu broth where the noodles were served separately and you'd dip it in the broth. So good. The rest of the week they serve their regular menu. Space is limited, there is table and bar seating, good for pairs & small groups. There's usually a line and it's not a quick line. I'd recommend getting there when it opens. Different staff members had different personalities - half were friendly/enthusiastic and the other half were serious/in-the-zone. Pricing is around $22-$28 per person.

I've been to Tsurumen many times since they first opened and the ramen is definitely worth a try. Every component of the ramen (broth, pork, toppings, noodles) is flavorful and the textures are just the right amount of diverse. The pork is incredibly tender and the noodles are not over-cooked. The food is also pretty consistent, I can't really remember any particular outliers from my experiences. The only criticisms pertaining to the actual food that I have would be that the broth can be too salty at times (depending on which style of ramen you choose) I will say, however, that my visits have decreased over time. This is mostly due to the fact that the food is getting too expensive (for me). Considering cost, portion, and flavor, $23-$25 after tax is not really worth frequenting in my opinion. Pros: - Easy parking: it's Davis Square so there is both street and parking lots nearby. - Good food, nice space to chat with friends - Friendly staff - Not large-group friendly (easier to get seats for parties of 1-3, much harder for 4-5+ and smaller parties will be seated before you). Cons: - Value - Wait times could be long depending on the time/day to just be seated (~40min) and the line is outside (weather considerations) - Wait times for food could be incredibly long during busy hours. From what I've seen only have 2-3 people working the kitchen area. Overall: Worth checking out for the food. I recommend for smaller groups (if you don't want to deal with long waiting times/logistics).

Shoyu Tsukemen: The tsukemen noodles were much larger than the ramen noodles; a small portion had 200 grams of noodles, which were quite thick and chewy. The chashu叉焼 was stewed until tender, but the broth was extremely oily and had a strong porky smell, which was nauseating. Karaage: It was a little overcooked, but fresh and hot, so it was still pretty good. The sauce was a bit spicy, which was interesting.
