Enchiladas with red sauce
Corrina W.

So disappointed!! Got a to go order and paid a total of $20 for this this is supposed to be chicken enchiladas with red sauce and does NOT taste like chicken... more like Turkey meat. No flavor to the food, adding salsa didn't help much. Mad that I wasted time and money getting this food

Well it's not Tuesday or Wednesday but we still are ready for some refreshments!

Sandra took great care of us! The Enmoladas De Pollo was excellent (ask for less mole unless you like it really smothered). The Sea Bass Filet with butter sauce was perfect...not fishy..not dripping in butter...not dry. Fantastic detour on our trip in avoiding the east fast food trap.

I like that they do dollar tacos on Monday. I just wish the food was more flavorful. The service was good.

We poked around the store a bit and it definitely gave the feeling of not being in the valley anymore. Ultimately we came to eat though and so you go to the back and it's a very cafeteria feeling eatery back there. The ceilings are high, there are chairs and tables and extra inventory everywhere. Based on the menu, we ordered tacos, but they also had tortas, burritos and even off-menu menudo (next time). We got some drinks and ordered our tacos. They came out reasonably quickly and we're just absolutely loaded with meat. Almost like they had been punched out of a larger taco with a cookie cutter. I ordered the carne asada and chicharrone tacos while my wife got pastor and carne asada. I'd definitely be down to try all the other offerings. This meal was a great surprise. I'll definitely be coming back here again and again.

Order first, grab a soda from the many refrigerators on the wall and wait for your food. They'll stick your tray on the counter but don't call out that it is ready so if it's busy keep your eyes open. We ordered four kinds of tacos: Carne asada (steak) - it was tender enough and well cooked but seriously lacking in flavor compared to the others that we tasted. Chicken - decent tender chicken shreds albeit a bit plain. Chicharron - small pieces of crispy pork rind that right before serving in the tacos are tossed in a spicy tomato sauce. Very good but you have to eat this one instantly when served otherwise the crispy pork rind starts to get mushy and chewy. Very delicious sauce! Pork al Pastor - Seriously the best of the four. Normally al pastor are made with the pork cooked in layers on a vertical split and served with some pineapple. Since this isn't a very busy place they don't do the volume required for having that kind of spit and they cook marinated chunks of pork on the grill. The marinade was very flavorful and strong and I would order these again the next time we are in the area and decide to eat here. One of the folks in our group had the multiple meat hamburger. It had a beef patty, some baloney like meat, a grilled piece of ham, a split hotdog, and bacon! They have lots of Hispanic and Mexican soft drinks as well as Pepsi products but very little in terms of low calorie drinks. Just Diet Pepsi and then three or four versions of flavored, unsweetened waters like Topo Chico. A very good value relative to the ski town where we are staying.

For a restaurant of this location, building and menu, they should absolutely be killing it. But not with the service that's being provided. We felt unwelcome. We came in at 11:06am on a Saturday. No one was there at the hostess stand. We walked in, there were 2 tables of 1 diner each (one inside, one outside). A waitress came around the corner and in a challenging tone said, "How can I help you?!??!" It was as if we weren't supposed to let ourselves in. "We'd like to eat lunch" Again, tone, "We're not serving lunch. We serve breakfast til noon." "Then we'd like to eat lunch" "Sit wherever you'd like" What happened the next 39 minutes was not what anyone would expect out of a small town diner/mexican spot with the CUTEST venue possible. No eye contact. No pleasantries. No refills on water or iced tea (the male patron's coffee was refilled by the other server). When asked for sweetener for the iced tea, not only did she say she thought they were out of all sweetener because of the breakfast rush, she visibly slumped her back, dropped her head, sighed and trudged off. When asked for ketchup for the homestyle potatoes (there are no ketchup bottles out), the same behavior to go and retrieve a disposable ramekin of ketchup. The oddest thing was that there were 2 servers and only 4 patrons. We were never checked on by our server, the younger of the two. The other tables were touched on once each by the other server over the 39 minutes we were there. When a male bar patron came in during our last 10 minutes, he was treated with exuberant hospitality and attention. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, except for the half eaten breakfast plate that was left out on the hostess stand. The food was quick, delicious and reasonably priced.

The buffalo sauce I had on the side, thank goodness was spicy, you could smell how spicy it was. This was not a chicken breast. When I sat down, they gave free chips and it seemed to be a homemade salsa which was pretty good but watery. The service was adequate, but I had to ask my waitress to please come over. The venue is excellent. The location is fantastic. Unfortunately I left unimpressed with the food. To cap it all off they charge me for my glass of coke. Interesting way to cap off my meal. Oh well, I would come back for the ambience, but not for the food.
