Such a fun little find! We sat at the bar at Tu Jalisco and absolutely loved the vibe. The restaurant was super clean, lively, and had lots of TVs, making it a great spot to grab a drink, watch a game, and enjoy some good Mexican food. They also have a full bar, which is always a plus! We started with a Modelo and a Lagunitas IPA, both on draft, along with a Cadillac Margarita. They bring out complimentary chips, salsa, and bean dip, and everything was delicious. And I have to give a huge shoutout to Nancy, who was both our waitress and bartender. She was amazing! Our chips were getting low and before we even had to ask, she noticed and immediately brought us a fresh basket along with more salsa and bean dip. That kind of attentive service makes such a difference! For our meal, we ordered the Chile Verde lunch special, which was a really good size and very satisfying, plus two à la carte tacos. My man took me here. The parking lot was small, but we found parking. The staff was very nice, our waitress was friendly. I enjoyed her smile and aura. I ordered the carnitas cheese Quesadilla and it was delicious! It was bigger than expected so I had to take it home. My man loved his meal! I forgot what he ordered but I took photos, lol. This was hands down the worst meal I've ever ate.I ordered the cheese enchiladas.My boys ordered a Pizza and my other boy ordered a Pancake.The enchiladas were so disgusting and greasy.They were flavorless, they almost tasted, like some sort of chemical. I tried covering it with got sauce but that didn't even help. The food was absolutely flavorless. The beans, the rice and the chips were stale. Absolutely no flavor. My son didn't even eat his whole Pancake and my other son only ate 2 pieces of his Pizza. They usually finish their plates completely anywhere else we go, and they even complaind that their food was bad. I will Never , ever come back to this place again. And they raised their prices. I don't know who the cook is there, But they need a lesson in flavor. Tucked away on Main is this hidden gem. Every time I come it is at 3/4 full, a sign of happy patrons if I say so. The mole is exceptional and I've had my share. It might be one of my top dishes here. Nice little Mexican restaurant in a small plaza. They fix the food pretty rabidly and are pretty nice as far as wait staff. The food seems to be very fresh and the presentation is delicious. The only issue is for a wet burrito. There was not enough sauce, so it was a little drier than a normal wet burrito, possibly because they stuffed it in a very small container and did not want to overflow the container, the food still tasted pretty "freakin" good. The right amount of sauce would've made it perfect. Also although fresh, the meal was not hot As far as temperature goes. I requested jalapeño peppers which they forgot to add. My husband and i got out of there for less than $50 (before the tip) which i feel like is almost unheard of when you sit down to eat at a restaurant these days, even for lunch. I ordered 1 chili rellano w/ a side of rice, my husband ordered a half portion of the pozole. Theres a spicy chipotle sauce that came w/ his soup that was delicious! The soup was already amazing but that made it next level. My rellano was exactly what i want when im craving chile rellano. Perfectly battered & fried w/ a delicious home made salsa! Just perfect. The rice was good too. I also like the fact that they not only give you complimentary salsa (which is bomb btw) but you get bean dip too! & Thank you to Nancy! I came on a Sunday hoping to find some good pozole. The decoration was nice and seemed very cultural which I admired. As for the food, unfortunately the pozole was not to my satisfaction as it was lacking flavor even after I had added all the add ons they were provided. I also ordered a virgin mojito but was way too sugary which made me think it's just a syrup they use when other places have had much better tasting mojitos. There's no complaints on the customer service given as the lady kindly exchanged the mojito for an horchata. Oakley finally has EXCELLENT Mexican food!! My milanesa torta was DELICIOUS! Huge piece of milanesa steak, jalapenos beans lots of avocado lettuce and cheese and tomato! Very well seasoned. My husband had enchiladas rojas, sauce was perfection! Fluffy rice and tasty refried beans. The service was OUTSTANDING! Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. I have ordered pickup from here before during the winter for their caldos and they are delicious! Especially the caldo de res which is my favorite. This past Sunday we decided to finally dine in with some family for the first time and we were a party of four plus two toddlers. We ordered fairly fast (after looking for a waitress for some time) and we were waiting for our food for over an hour. Multiple tables were as well. Mind you we got simple burritos and pizza lunches for the kids (which came very last which was not easy). Wish there was more staff to support. Tried this place for the first time ever. If you're a long time Oakley resident you'll know this place as The Buzz Inn. My cousin was looking for good soup and this place delivered. They have everything from menudo, pozole, albondigas, and tortilla soup. I ordered the pozole and it was delicious. My cousin had the albondigas and it came with huge chunks of veggies. First time getting food from this cute little restaurant on our way home. I got a bean, rice and cheese burrito. It was delicious. My son-in-law got a Carnitas burrito and very much enjoyed it . My daughter made quick work over half of a chili rellano burrito. Fresh tortilla chips with beans , cheese sour cream and guacamole were yummy. The food was fresh and delicious. I can always count on a good meal. The restaurant is clean and the condiments are fresh. I love the pickled onions with my superstar burrito. The service is friendly and quick. I offered to go back and get the rest of the order. When I have the receipt to the lady, she looked at me as if I was crazy.
