Super nice staff and the dentist took his time explaining everything to me.............

We have been seeing Dr. Tucker for annual cleanings over the past few years. Our insurance always covered the cost, and when I booked appointments, they would ask for our insurance information and verify it beforehand. A few weeks ago, they contacted us and said they no longer accept our insurance. Just a week later, I received a $112 bill for my son's cleaning. I am very disappointed and would not recommend this office to anyone. I called and explained the situation, but they told me I had signed a contract and still had to pay. I paid the amount, but I strongly advise others not to visit their office. read more

My husband and I did not have a good experience with this dental office, to start off they were not willing to check to see if my Insurance would cover the visit. Then they did X-rays and nothing else not even suggested another appointment for work, being I need a lot of work on teeth. But they were prompt to send us a bill for not doing anything at all, but X-rays. read more

A couple of months ago I needed to have some major dentistry work done pretty quickly, and my previous dentist had retired, and I didn't have any insurance, and I was an absolute mess. In pain, and it's Christmas time, and my oldest brother had just passed away on Thanksgiving Day. And just like that, my dermatologist, Dr. Chris Collins said Dr. Tucker was excellent. And not only excellent but the only person who could've made me laugh when I was stressed to the max. I'll put it to you like this: if you want the best dentist I've ever had, the nicest guy whose lovely wife and others work in an immaculately maintained office, then I'd recommend him. I was counting and realized I've used about 25 different dentists, though some for just cleaning. Funny guy, I still chuckle thinking about him. It's good to have a great dentist, they're all nice people typically, but he told me he'd done thousands of these procedures, and he was amazing. 100 stars if I could. read more

Absolute shambles. Dr Tucker does great work and have gone there for years. But have just been fobbed off by office staff. Booked appointment and had everything locked in. Then the call 3 days later. Scheduling conflict even when it was checked while I was in the surgery, and the option was to push me to a different practice. Couldnt even provide me with an alternative date. Took the line of I was an inconvenience to them. Its a shame as Dr Tucker has always been great. Will make sure I dont recomend them to anyone. read more

So sorry I went to them. I did have gum issues return after three decades. Covid lock downs and my husband passing kept me away from dental care. My fault. But they refused to clean my teeth. I need scaling which they cannot do for over two months because they are booked out. So, clean my teeth now while I wait the over two months. I'm happy to pay. Nope, they refused. Went for a cleaning,and Christina the dental hygienist, did a most excellent job cleaning, and scraping plaque from under my gums in the past when I would go to another dentist, the hygienist or the dentist would hit a nerve and create pain throughout the visit. But Not Christina, professional, competent, and just a sweet lady. Made my experience easy and enjoyable. Dr Tucker showed up and gave his expert opinion, which was spot on. Cream of the crop Dr Tucker and his assistant Lacey are super patient, funny and dont rush the procesure. They chat so you dont think of whats being done and passes the time with their jokes. I wish there were more stars to give. Dr. Tucker has been my dentist for years. I love him. He is very patient with my dental anxiety along with the rest of the staff. Today they all went Above and Beyond. My husband has a variety of phobias and conditions that have caused him to not visit the dentist for many, many years. Today he had a deep cleaning with Christina and then had a few filings with Dr. Tucker and Lacey. Aside from the fact that his teeth look Amazing... I made 4 appointments that day for the whole family. I went first with my daughter and about two hours later my husband went with our other daughter. We did not go as one big family just two sets of two. We had two very different experiences. I had to fill out paperwork as a new patient which was expected. Then, I was asked to fill out forms in their computer much of which was the same as what I had written down. This was lame. Shouldn't the office staff do this? They did for my husband. He did not have to fill in data at the computer. The dental assistant was friendly and competent. I saw Dr. Tucker and he was very nice as well though considerably friendly with the assistant but it was a comfortable environment. He told me I had a hole in one tooth (is that the same as a cavity?) and that the receptionist would give me a paper showing pricing options to fill it. They saw my daughter but did not floss her teeth, though they did floss the teeth of my second daughter who went in two hours later. I was really expecting them to floss and am pretty certain that's standard practice and what I pay for. When I met the receptionist for the paperwork about cost to fill the hole I started asking her questions not realizing she was on the phone. Instead of putting the caller or me on hold she attempted to help us both. She got frustrated with my asking questions and told me "this is the stuff you asked the doctor for" which I had not. Then she asked me to sign the form. Near the signature line is the statement to the effect "by signing this document I agree to pay for these services". I told her I was still thinking it over and didn't want to sign. She said I needed to sign and I refused because of that statement on the form. So she scribbled it out. Not one line through the statement, but a zig zag angry scribble. We got our toothbrushes and left. The receptionist was incredibly nice to my husband (I was not with him) and she even gave my other daughter a balloon and other goodies my first daughter did not get and of course my first daughter asked about it. So long story short, the dentist seems good, but the reception was quite rude and that's reason enough for me to take my business elsewhere. read more

This is yet another place where, if given the opportunity, I'd give them six stars. After visiting four dentists in my area and one part of Cedar Park, I finally found the guy we're sticking with for life! Dr. Tucker was referred to us by friends and while we've only had two appointments with him, he's been awesome. I love how when you enter his office, it feels like a home. It's not hoity-toity which a lot of dentists lean towards these days. It's not stuffy, they don't offer you a four-course meal and massage before you enter. But, they're down to earth, honest in their assessment of your dental needs, and their pricing is fair. They don't try to scheme you with false claims of needing a lot of things you really don't need and their conservative approach to dentistry is refreshing. Having had some really bad experiences in Austin with dentists, we've found our guy. He's funny, easy-going, knowledgeable, and honest. Many qualities a lot of dental offices are lacking in the quest for the almighty dollar! What a great place this we travel about 30 minutes to him, but he's SO worth it! read more

Never cleaned my teeth - just took x-rays and poked around in my mouth - they were more worried about what kind of work they can suck out of me.....very money hungry dentist office - talking about implants and dentures - I am far from either. If you want to pay for work that you know you don't need then this is the place for you to go. My foodie adventures got the better of me and I needed two cavities filled. I came to see Dr. Glick and I had a great experience (well as great as getting fillings can be!). The front staff were very polite and I got put into a chair very fast. Dr. Glick did a great job explaining what his treatment plan was and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. He showed me my x-rays and pictures of the teeth he was going to work on so I knew exactly what he was talking about - no other dentist has ever taken that much time doing that! I was extremely impressed. I was a little anxious about getting fillings done since I hadn't needed any for a while, so he took care to make sure I felt at ease during the whole process. The fillings did not take very long to do and I did not experience any pain after the procedure. I would definitely recommend Dr. Glick as a dentist - he does a thorough job and provides great patient care. I'm so glad I found a new dental home! read more

Dr. Tucker and his staff are top notch. I came to him a couple of years ago to get a second opinion on some costly work that my previous dentist said that I needed. Dr. Tucker performed a thorough examination. He acknowledged that there were some surface cracks on the teeth in question, but that it didn't look like something that required immediate treatment. He recommended keeping a watch on these areas to make sure the cracking didn't progress. This was all it took for me to decide to make him my dentist. As many other reviewers have said, the office staff is very friendly. Nicole, the hygienist who cleans my teeth, is extremely thorough. She recommended a different type of floss, and oral rinse to help fight plague build-up between cleanings. Both were great suggestions and have worked well. I had my teeth cleaned yesterday and they feel silky smooth. I recommend Tucker Family Dental to anyone looking for an excellent, honest dental care at fair prices. read more

My husband had taken the day off work in order for me to have a root canal that I had scheduled with Castle Dental, but Castle Dental wanted to give me a SECOND consultation and schedule the root canal for 2 WEEKS later! Didn't make sense to me so I left. After the annoying experience at Castle Dental, I called Tucker Dentistry. I was in need of a root canal and I was looking for same day service. Not only were they able to get me in, but their patient care was excellent. Dr, Tucker, although extremely capable and practiced in root canals, doesn't normally perform them, but after looking at my x-ray he said he would be able to take care of it. Hallelujah! I was in and out and taken care of as well as one could hope. I will be back in a week to get the crown, and I will be taking myself and my four kids there for our dental needs from now on. On a side note, the office was very nice and the technology seemed to be with the times. There was a nice area for kids as well as a sitting area for adults. There are TVs in the dentist chair areas as well. Dr, Tucker himself was very friendly and straight forward. I was very pleased with my experience here, enough to sign up for a yelp account and hope that others will be able to receive the wonderful care that I received. read more

I showed up to this dentist this morning without a appointment, after being humiliated by another dental practice in the area. I had a filling I needed fixed and when I explained what happened at other practice, Dr. Tucker saw me right then and after looking at x-ray, he put a treatment plan in to effect and treated me with respect and kindness, His office staff and back staff are very professional and friendly, My family and I will now be going to this practice for all our dental needs. Dr. Tucker is great and so is Dr. Choucair - the admin staff is great too .....not so great experience with the dental assistants. On two accounts my children were very afraid about the procedure and the assistant made snide remarks about them being afraid. I don't think that was appropriate, much less without knowing that both of my children have had traumatic health incidents in their past that make it hard for them to take medicine or any treatment. 4 years ago, I'd have given them 5 stars, no question. Great dentist, good staff, fair prices, good to work with. Now I'm looking for a new dentist. My wife had a root canal and cap and even with our great dental insurance these people want us to pay over $1500 out of pocket for ONE TOOTH!!!!! I've had the same work with a copay around $600. The Hispanic lady who does the billing is pushy, loud, obnoxious and impossible to deal with. My son had two teeth fixed, for which they charged us $550 dollars. Our copay is usually about $75 to $100 a tooth. A week later, my son said they hadn't done his teeth right, because he couldn't bite down. We took him back and the lady dentist agreed to reshape them for a better bite. After she was done, she told the billing lady it was free because it wasn't finished correctly the first time. The billing woman tried to make us repay an additional $550 for the same teeth. We had to argue with her and call in the dentist to verify there was no charge. She makes each visit a really horrible experience. No mas! I like Dr. Tucker, but the staff needs to go, and the prices need to be revised. Until then, we are GONE! read more

This is a great dental office! Dr. Tucker is wonderful with children. I took my 10 year old in and he was very nervous and scared, Dr. Tucker did a great job of easing his fears. We got an appointment the same day, the staff was very friendly and the place was very clean. We went to see him and paid out of pocket because we couldn't get in to see our dentist on our insurance plan for several days. It was money well spent. My employer changes insurance companies every year so hopefully we will get a plan that will allow us to go to Dr. Tucker regularly soon. Go see him, you'll be glad you did. read more

If you want to form a relationship with a DDS for you and/or your family, this is the place to go. Dr. Choucair is the BEST. I am very battle hardened dental patient due to decades of crowns and fillings....but my wife/kids not so much. I can look at a piece of candy and get a cavity. That being said, I still appreciate a good beside manner and she is super kind, patient, and compassionate. Another Leander dentist left much desired in this area, so we found Tucker and my wife/kids love the people there. The admin staff has been same since we started several years ago and they have always treated me and my family very well. Unless you want/need the cheapest dental care around (you know the places) I see no reason to travel downtown or further south than Leander for a truly great dentist that cares about you. read more

After being in Austin for 9 years, we finally found a dentist who seems honest and does not find cavities. The reception was fine, filled out info on their computer, was taken back for x rays promptly, and then Dr. Tucker did the cleaning. My conservative dental husband had no problem, my 3 year old was happy (plus he charges a reasonable charge to insurance for a 3 year old $40+ compared to Kid Smiles at $178+), and we had our 24 year old daughter go since the last dentist she saw found 5 cavities (which she did not have filled). Dr. Tucker found zero! If you are looking for a "no fluff" conservative dentist, start seeing Dr. Tucker. Since he does do his own cleanings, your gums and teeth will not hurt as they may when a diligent hygienists does the cleaning. That can be a pro or con to some people! read more

Such an amazing experience! I have been putting off going to the dentist for a long while now. This was my first visit here and it was the most educational and pleasant visit ever. Christine was really great when she was doing X-rays and cleaning my teeth. For it being 8am she was so happy and sweet. She was very informative as well. And Dr Aliisha Choicair was awesome. She was telling me everything she was naming off and why before she did. She was really wanting to figure out what the best solution would be. She was extremely great and pleasant! I was very surprised about the over all feel of the place. Everyone was just so happy. And the receptionist/billing employee was very very helpful with trying to figure out how to work things out with my different tooth needs and insurance coverage. The location is nice, it's very clean and very pleasant. It was a great experience. I'm actually Excited about getting my dental work done which is a first for me! read more
