What a fabulous stay. Accommodations were wonderful(Forrest Room) atmosphere serine and beautiful, food delicious (loved the souffle ) and just 10 minutes from ferry. If a peaceful, romantic, relaxing getaway is needed during these pandemic stricken times.....THIS IS YOUR SOLUTION!

This B&B is simply outstanding. They have four rooms/suites in a building separate from the one that the owners live in, so privacy is assured. I stayed in the Marilyn Suite a few years ago, and we're going back in less than two weeks! This room has a gorgeous and really comfy king-size bed, nice TV with satellite reception and a huge loaner DVD library, lots of room to store your things, gourmet chocolates in your room... but where it gets really special is in the bathroom and on the deck. The bathroom has both a shower and a huge jetted tub, and the deck is completely private and has a large hot tub, perfect for those afternoon or late-night soaks under the stars. Oversize towels and plush robes are abundant and everything is absolutely spotlessly clean. From the first greeting until your departure, owners Patrick and Nancy are welcoming without being in your face. They provide afternoon and evening homemade baked goods, popcorn and other snacks, and free beverages whenever you like them. Breakfast is delicious and features organic and local foods... let them know about dietary restrictions ahead of time and they will go out of their way for you, which is so nice (and they won't make a big production out of your special meal, either, so you won't be embarrassed). The other guests were friendly and the place is never overcrowded, since they have a max of 8 guests at any one time. I think the weekend we're going, the 16th/17th, we'll have the place to ourselves.... This inn is situated on five acres just four miles from the Friday Harbor ferry landing, so you have the best of both worlds, with close-in convenience and feeling like you're completely in the country.. it's so QUIET there. :-) And there's very little light pollution, if you like to stargaze. Patrick especially was wonderful about suggesting things to do and places to go, and Nancy packed us a simple but delicious lunch... it's those sweet personal touches, and local expertise, that make staying in a B&B more like visiting with friends than staying in an anonymous hotel.... though they are expert about disappearing into the background if you don't want to hang out (and yes, at other places, I have sometimes suffered through the over-solicitous/lonely innkeeper... these folks are brilliant at reading your cues for privacy!) I've been to all the San Juans now, and San Juan Island is actually my favorite. It seems the friendliest, and there's definitely more to do on this island than the others. I'll never go back to Lopez -- the "friendly island" -- sure, everyone waves, but there wasn't a single INCH of public beach access to be found! San Juan Island has lots, in state parks and other places where it's OK to just wander, and that's what I like. There's a pair of trumpeter swans that lives here for part of the year... they are back now and I can't wait to see them. It makes you feel like you're living a fairytale existence, to be sure, to just look out your bedroom window and see these glorious birds.

True to its name, this B&B is located in the woods, in a secluded spot on the San Juan island. It is an ideal spot for any kind of getaway you're looking for. Our room was called the Nautical and our friends stayed at the Lakeview room. We really enjoyed our stay over here and it was very comfortable. The bath was not attached to our room but the area was still completely private to us. The Nautical room came with a deck which had a hot tub. The owner was very personable and he prepared for us a great breakfast after carefully taking into account all our dietary habits and restrictions. The breakfast was delightfully laid out on a large dining table for the guests at 9 am. Awesome coffee and a delectable selection of tea flavors as well, I must add. The room, the bath, just about everything in this inn was filled with those numerous personal touches such as Hershey's Kisses near the bed, a tiny whale stuffed toy on the bed, bath robes and so on that made the stay a truly memorable experience.

We have stayed here for our honeymoon, and we wouldn't change a thing! This place is a magical get away and the beautiful breakfast every morning has been amazing! It's a home away from home, and we'll definitely be coming back on anniversaries!!

So relaxing! I adored everything about this place! Super clean, super comfortable and very private rooms. The hot tub was excellent and breakfast was absolutely delicious, it was a perfect get away, next time we will definitely stay longer!

    One of the delicious breakfasts!

The location is great - close to everything in Friday Harbor but not on a street with as much traffic as some others. The customer service is great - just send them a text and you get a response in seconds. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room interior was good - everything looked clean with plenty of toiletries, cozy robes, and a heated bathroom floor. The bathroom in general was dated. We had a non operational jetted tub that had been converted into a duel faucet rain shower. It was rather weird, but it worked. I also really liked the keyless entry, so no worries about losing your key! Now, my one negative. Our room, and I'm assuming all rooms on this side of the building, abut a loading dock and parking lot for an adjacent grocery store. Every morning at 5am, a semi truck, fork lift, and workers unload the truck. In addition to back up safety alarms, truck engines idling, and workers talking, you also hear the constant rumbling of goods being unloaded. This goes on for HOURS.....starting at 5am. The hotel gives you ear plugs and notes that there is no noise ordinance on the island and notes that neighbors can be noisy and the hotel can't do anything about that. I get it...you can't control noisy patrons or neighbors, but the description given doesn't really convey what is actually going on with this side of the building. Constant, very loud noise and alarms for over two hours starting at 5am. All that said, I would stay here again, but I would make sure any room I book has views of the harbor, and not the back side of the hotel.

It has steps, indoors and out (I found the outdoor steps easier on my bad hip) and it's just a lovely place - nicely decorated and SO clean. Our room was Fidalgo, we had a big soaker tub and kitchen area, I loved having two places to watch tv since sometimes one of you can sleep and the other is enjoying vacation insomnia time. ;) Out back, a walk through a parking lot takes you to King's Market which had everything. We did not find the hotel loud, but they offer earplugs just in case. The mattress was great, seriously- firn enough but with a soft topper or something, we both slept so well.

We had a really nice stay at Earthbox Inn and Spa. Right off the bat, they were very polite,…read morecourteous, and cordial via text to get all set up and pre-checked in so that we could go straight to our room when we arrived. I really appreciated that they had free EV chargers for guests, so we could plug in our car after a long day of driving and riding the ferry, at no additional charge. Spectacular. They are centrally located to everything you might want to do in Friday Harbor, so we only had to take our car once, when we went sightseeing around the island. Otherwise, it just stayed parked because we could walk everywhere, which was really nice. Everyone I interacted with during our stay was pleasant and professional. We had a maintenance issue in our room and they were quick to remedy it. I was a little disappointed that our room did not have some kind of fan to move air and the AC only went down to about 67 degrees and the furniture felt a bit...damp, so that is the reason for the 4 stars. I like my room to be cold, crisp, and clean and the one we stayed in just felt a bit...musty. Also, the local lavender farm is closed and the products are now sourced from Whidbey Island, but that was not disclosed to me until I asked, so I might suggest updating the information in the rooms. I was a bit disappointed we couldn't visit the lavender farm on island because it was permanently closed and so the sign in the bathroom kind of set me up for failure. All in all, it was a mostly pleasant stay and I would return the next time we want to visit Friday Harbor.

The grounds -- consisting of about 4 or 5 separate buildings -- had a lovely chill vibe, lots of greenery around the compound, an indoor pool and sauna and a nice array of separate outdoor seating areas. The separate office/lobby was a large but cozy welcoming space with a fireplace, couches and coffee and a comfy spot to relax in. Also, not gonna lie -- accommodations are upscale Best Western level, which again, I have no problem with, but just so ya know, that's 300 greenbacks in high season. Hey, it's an island, I get it, there's not many options; Just throwing it out there. Our Queen Standard room was on the small side, but the bath/shower was perfectly adequate (if a bit dated), as was the A/C, and the bed and bedding was pretty comfortable. The staff too was awesome, cheery and happy to meet any need. We loved the pool and jacuzzi setup, and there's even a little exercise room in the same building. One thing I could have done without were the 5 or so emails I received before check-in, begging me to complete the online check-in form ahead of time, so I could just go right to the room without needing to stop at the office. Didn't work and I still had to physically check in. So yea, that was a pain. And yet? They still get 4 stars. Our one-night stay may have been expensive but it was very comfortable.

There are so many positives I am sure I missed some. Location: Close to town (5min), also centrally located to head to any part of the island! County Setting (5 acres) with livestock you can feed! Our room had an en-suite bathroom that was clean and had modern fixtures. Wonderful hosts! Claudia, Tyrone & Sveva. Claudia made an amazing breakfast each morning. She even baked chocolate chip cookies daily, there was also coffee, tea, & hot coco available at any time for us to have from the kitchen. We really enjoyed feeding the Alpacas and Pygmy Goats. The animals were so adorable and friendly. My only con was our initial impression of the room as it did not have a TV. But as our stay went on, we thoroughly enjoyed not having a TV in the room, it allowed us to disconnect more and take in the beauty of the island and surroundings. They do have a family/tv room, but we never felt the need to turn it on. I would have preferred a new bar of soap to a large bottle of body wash in the shower, but that may be personal preference. -Location, location, location. We walked everywhere in town except one day; there was a car rental place within walking distance & we were able to explore the rest of the island. There is no denying that the Courtyard Suites have a fantastic location! -The owner allowed us to store our luggage in the suite before check-in time as the Clipper arrived very early in the morning. She provided the same courtesy during the day we checked out. This was much appreciated. Cons: -I hardly slept well at all during our 4 night stay here. -There is a trash dumpster right outside the window by the bed. Three of the four mornings, a loud truck came & emptied the dumpster before 7 a.m. It's possible one of the trucks was a fuel truck as well, I was too tired to look out the window. There was no way to sleep through this racket. -We attempted to keep the windows open to allow a breeze at night since there is no AC. The suite has casement windows that swing out, with mini blinds for privacy. Whenever the breeze came through the windows, the blinds would bang against the window frames. Several nights my husband & I couldn't sleep from the blinds banging, & ended up having to be hot with no cross ventilation just to stop the noise. -By the time tax was added & $12/night for my son to sleep on the futon, it ended up being pricier than we expected at $255 per night. Overall I would recommend the Courtyard Suites, especially if you are a heavy sleeper!
