The most stress-free dental experience I've had in years, thanks to a wonderfully talented doctor,…read morecaring staff, and beautiful setting. Having had extensive procedures in several other parts of the country (including several crowns and an implant that were well done by my previous provider, in San Diego), I was unsure I'd find an office in Tucson that could match the level of expertise I've had elsewhere. Dr. Mitchell made that simple -- he not only has excellent depth in general and aesthetic dentistry but is also just an incredibly nice person. I'm someone who experiences major anxiety in the chair, and I've found Dr. Mitchell's easygoing demeanor a huge relief. I also appreciate that the hygienist is extremely respectful and patient-focused. For instance, I'd had my last bitewings eleven months before, and before my arrival, she had noticed that and double-checked with my insurance to ensure I was eligible, but more important, she also asked me if I would prefer to have them a little early or wait until my next visit. It's completely refreshing to have the staff ask what the patient wants, instead of trying to push services or products. Another major advantage is the office itself -- located on Grant Road (north lane, next door to Black Rock Coffee, just across the street from the Mercedes Benz dealer and slightly west of the post office), the building has ample covered parking, and the interior capitalizes perfectly on stunning views of the Catalinas, with several exam chairs facing straight out to the gorgeous scenery...just another way to feel relaxed and happy in a place dedicated to making you flash your best smile!

They're the smiles and faces of Dr. Brei's office. The ladies work with your busy schedule, throw you on a cancellation list to get you in sooner, are fashionable, friendly, and funny! The staff- I'm talking assistants, hygienists, technicians, anyone who is in scrubs is the real deal. I could have three people's hands in my mouth (I know, sounds gross) and be thinking, "Why in the world would they want to do this for a living?" yet, they couldn't be happier and will literally talk about how much they love what they do. I can't chime in so I just nod and say, "Good" Dr. Brei makes going to the dentist feel normal. My 2022 goal is to put me first, which means- I have to face the truth ... I've been putting me OFF which definitely includes the dentist. I could dread the dentist but because of Brei and is his team, I feel as good as one can in the dentist chair. 10 out of 10, you need a dentist- I highly recommend. Also, Delta Dental is out of network so co-insurance is higher but guess what... I'd go to Brei and Co. with insurance or not because a good practice is HARD to come by. Sincerely, Once called bug's bunny because of my chompers. And PS. I hate carrots'

The pain started a couple of days later. The staff was helpful and available for me more than I could have imagined. And, they stuck with me until I was healed. I had appointment for tooth extraction without sedation on 6/12/26. I had undergone 2 root canal (RC) treatments on the tooth with pain remaining after 2 months. My endodontist said I would need to have a 3rd RC (no guarantee of success) or get the tooth extracted (guaranteed success). I chose to have the tooth extracted and thus the appointment at Casas. I had a referral and also verbally explained to Dr. Prokes what I described above. She seemed confused and left the room to call my endodontist. She came back and said I didn't need any more RC treatments nor a tooth extraction. I was confused but of course happy to hear that, and subsequently left. Turns out Dr. Prokes did not speak to my endodontist, but to customer service who was uninformed. A week or so later, after my last antibiotic cycle had ended, the pain came raging back, and I found out that the tooth next to the originally infected tooth was now also infected. So I have to make the decision to extract them or more RC treatments on both teeth. Part of that decision is the cost of each option. I decided if I extracted the teeth, I wanted to have sedation. Casas said I had to come in again to discuss sedation with Dr. Prokes to get the cost, which I can't get. (My insurance requires provider to submit pre-estimate request to get quote, which takes minutes at most). I made an appointment for July 8, and was told I needed to get referral for the 2nd tooth before then. My dentist told me by email that he had submitted it to Casas on July 1, but Casas on July 3 still hadn't received it. Both my dentist and endodontist are out of the office this week due to the holiday, so I can't get another referral until Monday (my appointment is Wed.). To help with Dr. Prokes' confusion, I wrote a detailed history on all treatment, etc. associated with the 1st tooth and the diagnosis of the 2nd tooth. I explained I wasn't sure yet whether to extract 1, 2 or none of the teeth, but needed the cost info to decide. I got a call from Casas the next day on 7/3 saying Dr. Prokes said to cancel my appointment because I didn't have both referrals. Again I could get the 2nd one on Monday. Also, she wanted to talk to my dentist to make sure I needed the tooth/teeth extractions. This suggests I'm some kind of kook who wants teeth pulled out that don't need to be extracted. Note I have all of my teeth and am 61 years old. From Casas' website, it looks like there are at least 5 other oral surgeons at Casas. None of the others have had timely appointments open in 1 or 2 weeks....only Dr. Prokes has availability. Now I know why.....apparently nobody recommends her to others. I suggest you don't see Dr. Prokes, who doesn't seem to comprehend the English language nor care about her patients. I thinks it's likely that if Prokes had extracted the initial tooth when I went there for that purpose, the infection might not have spread into the 2nd tooth, costing me significant extra costs and substantial pain. How cruel that because of Prokes, I have to start over with RFQ with another facility, as I certainly won't ever go back to Casas. How hard would it have been to just give me a quotation for sedation, especially since I had already been to the facility? Certainly no harm would come of this. No treatment or tooth extraction was going to be performed on 7/8.....just discussion of sedation (and I've had sedation several times in my life) and finally telling me how much it would cost. I understand needing the referral, which I could have had re-sent on 7/6, and certainly well before any tooth extractions would be performed. It's just hard to fathom these stupid rules, and the incompetence and lack of empathy of Dr. Prokes.

My appointment was to determine why I was experiencing a rough surface on my upper right tooth. Dr. Purdy immediately determined one of my crowns needed to be replaced. Two days later I had the complete process completed in one appointment. Dr. Purdy and his clinical assistant were very conscientious in performing the dental procedure and built a rock-solid crown that needed no adjustments in the time immediately after the appointment. Dr. Purdy was serious about his work while still interjecting some humor since I am a person who while placing high value on the quality of my dental care still enjoys making any experience enjoyable. I highly recommend Dr. Purdy to new patients and I still highly recommend Dr. Icely as a valued dental care provider. In addition, all other dental professionals in the office are top-notch in their work with patients. Catalina Foothills Family Dental uses advanced dental technology in their office allowing on-site construction of dental crowns (normally a patient might have to wait 10 days for sending the work request to a dental lab) but thanks to CFFD's innovative practice, I reaped the benefits.
