I'll start off by saying this. Royal as a company is great. DO NOT GET ME WRONG. I've purchased from their Kia location and had a GREAT experience. Mini of Tucson on the other hand.....RUN AND DON'T LOOK BACK! First and foremost, I had initially wanted to purchase from their Kia location. Unfortunately, the vehicle I was interested in purchasing was at the Mini of Tucson Location, therefore I had to buy it there. Per the usual with dealerships, everything went smoothly until the paperwork was signed. I left the lot with my new car and a 2 month "Platinum Warranty". I was excited and didn't mind the mediocre buying process. Fast Forward 2 months and 2 weeks later.....My check engine light comes on. Now, I know that the warranty clearly states 2 months and, yes, I was beyond that by 2 weeks..I GET THAT. Now where the problem lies is within the way the General Manager Eddie Madigan conducts not only business, but himself. Maybe that's why his last name is what it is, because his customers seem to always be "MAD-AGAIN". I called and spoke with Eddie who explained I had no coverage given the time frame. Once again, I GET IT. Just wait.... He told me to call when I could schedule a time. 2 days go by and I write to Eddie and ask him if I could bring in the car in that Friday. No response. I let another 2 days pass, write him again.....No response. Then I tried calling the service department on THREE different occasions....and kind of like this review..the rings just kept going and going and going until the line just cut off. I eventually took my car to a local repair shop (Integrity Auto, they deserve 5 stars!!) and paid them $140 for a diagnosis and repair estimate. The repair estimate came out to be $382.24 out the door, tax and all. I finally got a hold of Eddie after reaching out to the Kia location and asking that manager to get a hold of him. Eddie tells me to bring in the vehicle after I had already emailed the repair estimate (therefore the car has BEEN DIAGNOSED). While at work, I get a call from Eddie who literally told me what I already knew. He legit just diagnosed the car.....and THEN told me it would cost $680 for the repair! 2 months and 2 weeks after owning the car. I got upset and attempted to explain my frustrations, although I'd be surprised if Eddie heard anything I said while he spoke over me during the whole phone call. Finally he got me really upset and when that began to show, he told me to call him back when I could "calm down".....I would be calm if you let me get out a damn word sir....what the heck? After work I called him back and asked him if he had intended on helping to make this right somehow rather then have a pissing contest over the phone. His response to me was..."What do you think a fair price to pay is...." I replied "Given the fact that I spent the amount of money that I did just 2 months ago on the car itself, I'd like you to repair the car and charge me the companies COST on the parts and labor. Not asking them to lose money, just not earn any. We went back and forth and after I did some math, priced out the parts and figured the average amount certified mechanics make hourly and calculated $340 for the repair requiring 3 hours of labor. Based off a quick google search, I found the brand new OEM replacement part for $129.99. He came back, and after trying to make it seem like he was rectifying the issue in some way, said and I quote... "Here's what I'll do for you, and you can take it or leave it. I'll do it for $400 plus tax." Shocked at his tone and what he had to say....I told him to have my keys ready and that I'd never do business with him again. Got my car repaired at a well known shop, has great reviews, certified technicians, and they charged me a fraction. Mini of Tucson has lost my business for good. read more

I have been in the market for a 2-door electric vehicle for about three months now. Because they only offer 4-door vehicles for the masses, Tesla was out (although I like many of the features their vehicles have). I know people in Tucson who own a Tesla Model 3 and a MINI, and both love their cars (but probably for somewhat different reasons). As I understand it, the MINI SE is set for deliveries to the US in late March 2020. While final detailing seems to be a work in progress, it is safe to say that the SE will simply be a fully electric variant of the successful MINI S. My guess is that a similar strategy will be employed throughout the US in coming years. It's just the next logical step. Electrify your existing successful platforms! While I consider myself an environmentally and sustainability conscious person, those were only a couple of the reasons for my choice of going electric in general, and going with a MINI in particular. There are simply fewer moving parts with electric vehicles! MINI is an established brand. MINI still relies on traditional dealership networks where you can can meet with sales and service advisors on the phone or in person. I first started interacting with MINI of Tucson via email, text messaging, etc. to make general inquiries about the MINI SE. On December 6, 2019 I met with Simone Sesler at MINI of Tucson. Because the SE models are not yet on display in Tucson, she showed me all the features and functions on the 2020 MINI S so I could gain some familiarity with the vehicle. I loved it! The MINI S is exactly the type of vehicle I need for my lifestyle. The SE will simply allow me to take the next logical step, and go electric. The plan Simone, her manager, and I worked out calls for selling before --or trading in-- my existing vehicle (a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport Soft Top), and then financing through MINI. Any required service will be performed at MINI of Tucson as well. There was absolutely no pressure placed on me to purchase anything! Nobody tried to draw me in for the purchase of an SE only to then try to steer me toward a MINI S. We stayed focused on the SE, because going electric is the primary motivator for me, and the reason I'm in the market now. If Jeep offered some sort of EV, I would have probably looked at them first, but they don't. I was absolutely amazed at Simone's knowledge of the MINI S platform! If I didn't know better, I'd swear she's a gearhead. I had already researched both the MINI S and (to a lesser extent the SE because there's still somewhat limited information available), found that Simone's presentation of the data was almost verbatim what is out there. I think Simone is very committed to the MINI brand. You've got to believe in something before you can sell it, and Simone does! I have every intention of continuing the pursuit of a MINI SE. I will purchase it through MINI of Tucson, and Simone will be the sales advisor with whom I'll interact. read more

If you're looking for a Mini in Arizona and don't mind getting hit with almost 1K in unwanted aftermarket add-ons and a slew of inexplicable fees, then go to North Scottsdale Mini. If, however, you are looking for a fair price, an easy-to-understand transaction and service beyond your wildest dreams, then you should drive as far as it takes to get to Mini of Tucson. Fortunately for me, I didn't have to go all the way to Tucson from Flagstaff to purchase my absolutely fabulous 2010 Cooper S BRG. That's because Aaron Movius took "going the extra mile" to heart and offered to drive the car to me, no strings attached. If I liked the car, he told me on the phone, he would drive it back to me the next day with all the required paperwork. He also evaluated my older Mini trade-in from where it was parked in my driveway and drove it to Tucson after we had completed the purchase of my new Mini. (We signed the papers outside on my front porch in the shade of an old oak tree.) I'm sure Aaron was sleep-deprived and exhausted after two days of intense driving, but he remained cheerful, friendly and professional throughout. And, by the way, I was not charged one penny for this extrordinary service. If Aaron is any indication of the overall quality of Mini of Tucson, then this dealership is the BEST. P.S. While I would NEVER again attempt to buy a car at North Scottsdale Mini, I have to say that I have found their service department to be impeccable. My 2010S has some warranty left and I would not hesitate to take it to Justin or Devin. read more

I'm not one to take the time to write a review about anything, but I had such a great experience last weekend purchasing my car here that I felt compelled to share. It was fun, easy, and the best car buying experience I've ever had! Nathan Clarke was the sales associate that worked with me, and he is a breath of fresh air! No hard sales pitch, and an openness and honesty that is rare these days. I had a blast driving around with him. Nathan had me test drive my new car on the highway, through traffic, and on bumpy roads (easy to find in Tucson!). In addition to the test drive, we had some of the most interesting conversation I've had since I moved here 2 years ago. Nathan is bright and forthcoming and quickly earned my trust. Once I knew I wanted the car, negotiations ensued between Nathan, the GM and myself. I was very pleased that they were willing to listen to me and that we came up with a number that was agreeable to all. To top it off, when the sale was complete (which was perfectly choreographed), Nathan offered to follow me in my new car to my brother's house so I could drop off the truck I drove to the dealership. I returned Nathan to the dealership, amidst wonderful conversation, and drove away in my new car feeling like I'd just had a magical experience. Growing up in Tucson, I have always been aware of Royal's reputation in the market. I have purchased more than 40 cars in my lifetime and the experience I just had at Royal Mini of Tucson was by far the best. When I was not sure, they let me try the car for an overnight experience which answered all of my questions. No hassle, no pressure, just great service. I worked with Q Jefferson and he is just incredible. He actually brought 3 different cars by my house for me to look at so I would not have to drive down to the dealership. I live in Oro Valley so that is not close but he did it anyway and it earned my business. Aside from working with Q, everyone I have met at Mini of Tucson has been amazing. Very friendly, inviting and eager to please. You just don't see that anymore. In addition, they pre-worked most of the deal over the phone and through email to help reduce the time I had to spend during the delivery process. My wife and I were looking for a car to replace our terrible, terrible car. We test drove practically every car on the lot, and scheduled another visit to look at a convertible that was still getting ready that we were interested in. When our poor frankencar exploded on the day we scheduled, our salesperson came and picked us up so we could still test drive. We didn't wind up getting that car, but we did purchase a pre-owned Mini Cooper (non-S) that was in our price range and has run perfectly. We love our Mini, and we've had nothing but good experiences with the dealership, from the sales department to the service department (not that we've needed any work done!). And, for the record: Jo was our salesperson, and she is awesome. Just sayin'. She put up with our strange requests in terms of paperwork (We wanted both our names on everything, even on the things that usually only have one name...and they never gave us any crap about it), and was friendly and knowledgeable. read more

I had no plan to purchase a car that day (especially with the issues I'd had at other dealerships in the area). Sam was very personable and informative. I was in the market for a used car, and Sam didn't try to sway me from what I wanted, he only wanted me to have what I came for. He also worked very hard to get me the low monthly payments I wanted. I would have left the dealership and gone through my bank had it not been for Sam. He was truly attentive, personable, and friendly. The entire Mini staff made car shopping enjoyable. This guy was helpful, courteous, and really attended to me. You see, I'm from the Phoenix area and i bought my car in Tucson. Javier was able work with me with phone, text and email communications. I had to attend work meetings and asked him if he could deal with me by text and/or email so could still work. He did a FANTASTIC job!! I couldn't be happier with Ashton and Mini of Tucson. I recently bought the sweetest little ride there--a 2017 Mini Cooper S that literally looked brand new. It happened quickly, but we had a trip scheduled the day after I decided to buy the vehicle. Ashton worked with me long distance, and even had the car waiting for me in my driveway when I got back from my trip. We finished all the paperwork the following day. I just traded in my 2011 Mini Cooper. Ali, Sam, and Joe were awesome. They took into account my preferences and my concerns with letting go of my baby and acquiring a new baby. I wasn't a fan of the four doors so Sam and Ali told me I need to take it and drive it for a couple days to see if I would change my mind. My entire purchasing experience was amazing! My sales representative Tristan Walker ran numbers every which way to Sunday for me, but never lost his cool or got pushy. I got everything I wanted and I couldn't be happier. In fact, he called me AFTER the sale was already done to tell me they'd upgraded my maintenance warranty for free. Who does that!?! We just purchased our fourth car from a Royal dealership so obviously we've had great service on each purchase! My husband found a car on Edmunds.com that was at the Mini dealership. The salesman was Matt Ruiz and he was great. He went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied. Since the final touch ups were taking longer than expected he actually drove the car to our house for us to take possession and drove the trade in back to the dealership, that's A+ customer service!
