Ah, what's in a biscuit? At Tudor's Biscuit World, it can be anything! I got the Rocket Biscuit, which, based on memory, was egg 2 cheese, country fried steak & country fried chicken. The wife got a blueberry muffin. We both liked our food. I would recommend stopping by for breakfast.

This local chain is a staple of the community that offers up some hearty breakfast sandwiches at a real bargain price. They have a myriad of biscuit sandwich combinations with different kinds of meats...some come with hashbrowns on the sandwich,...some have an egg...some dont. Whatever you choose is a pretty nice portion size for the price. I went with "the mountaineer" which was ham, egg, cheese, and hashborowns. Yummy ! Staff was really nice and seemed to be on a first name basis with most of the customers. I liked it.

I have seen signs for Biscuit World for years while traveling but it wasn't until traveling with an infant that we were able to stop and check it out. The service and staff were absolutely fantastic. So friendly and welcoming! The ambiance is adorable as well! Unfortunately the biscuits themselves were not so great. I'm hoping it was an off day. They were hard, lacking in flavor, and over cooked. Perhaps my expectations were too high but when your name is Biscuit World your customers may imagine biscuits that surpass other fast food chains but they unfortunately did not.

This is West Virginia: not too fancy but gets the job done. Why 4 solid stars? The biscuits are delicious and some other stuff ain't bad either. Don't look in the kitchen. Look down when you pass the dumpster or you will lock eyes with the all smoking staff taking a break. Just get yourself travel vaccines and do it!

A bit on the Heavy Side so forget a light Breakfast but be prepared for Great Biscuits. After a long day since leaving Cornelius NC, driving up to West Virginia and exploring the New River Gorge, it was finally time to grab lunch and head back to Cornelius. Not sure what I wanted, I got off the I-77 just North of the West Virginia Turnpike and looked at what was available for lunch. Several options but I had had good luck at a Tudor's Biscuit World just east of Fayetteville last year so decided to give them a try. Like the store last year, this one was also paired with a Gino's Pizza and Spaghetti and looking at the location map of both, they appear to overlap but not sure what the business relationship is between the two. As I walked in, there was a sign promoting the 2/$5 special so I decided to give it a try. I chose two of the Thundering Herd Biscuits. A Thundering Herd Biscuit is a huge buttered biscuit and I mean very liberal with the butter, Sausage, Egg, Cheese, and a layer of Hash Brown Potato Patty. I'm normally a heavy eater but these were so big, I should have stopped with one. Did manage to eat one in it's entirety but on the second, ended up dissecting it and eating only the parts I really loved. Not good but when I left, I felt like I needed to take a nap. Great Biscuit. Not crazy about the layout of the ordering mechanism but it does work.

This was where we stopped for breakfast on our way home from our vacation. They don't have this chain where I live so I definitely wanted to check it out when I saw it on a sign. As the name of the restaurant would imply the menu centered around their breakfast and breakfast sandwiches. I tried what they called The Miner which was bacon, a hashbrown cake, and melted American cheese. The biscuit was a very good, no frills variation and was perfect for this sandwich or if you just wanted to spread jelly or honey on it. The bacon was crisp and delicious as was the hashbrown. The melty cheese finished off the sandwich perfectly. Two of those filled me up nicely. The service was excellent as well. The price is very affordable, tge people were nice, and the food was excellent. It's a delicious, old school breakfast that's perfect for the road like us or before work. Solid thumbs up.

I know since COVID businesses have had to alter prices for one reason or another. But, when I paid $2 more for a wrap that half the size it used to be, I have a problem. Tudor's will no longer be a multiple weekly stop for me anymore, it will now be a special occasion (like, I paid off my mortgage special) visit.

Well Butter My Buns and call me a Biscuit!!!!! Lawd have mercy this place will make you a believer! When I entered WV I started seeing the name on exit ramp signs. I was curious, but had somewhere I needed to be. I saw more and more of these signs. The yellow sunshine logo called to me. Breakfast.. come get breakfast... you know you want too!! If you can put it on or in a biscuit you can get it here. I was driving so decided I had to try it before I left the state but didn't have time to actually sit in to eat. This location is very convenient on and off the highway. I drove up and was greeted by a very large drive up menu board. The WV accent I just love to hear came loud and proud over the speaker. There are about 20 different biscuits to choose from off the bat, not even taking into account their platters and other selections. Well I am in WV so I opted for the Thundering Herd. Egg (I asked for no egg) hash brown, sausage and cheese. Yes, the hash bown was ON the biscuit! It was enormous and a bit difficult to eat and drive I got one bite in and just couldn't do both. So I did it the easiest way I could and deconstructed it. I had forgotten how much sage people use in the south east for their sausage, but it was a pleasant reminder for sure. Savory and oh so good not over cooked in the least which was wonderful with the potato, cheese and tender biscuit. I nearly did have to pull over after that bite. Sadly they are only located in a few states but I will make a return when I am in the area. GO GIT YA SOME!

Took forever. Hamburger was the quality of dog food. French fries were fine. Biscuits ok, fresh. Gravy isn't traditional.

Can't go wrong with a loaded burrito or a Peppi. I like most things on the menu but those are my go to.

**April 2025: Weekday Afternoon Visit**…read more My friend and I were in the area and wanted a quick lunch before we hit the road again. With the high reviews we thought we'd check out Swiftwater Cafe. The restaurant is located on the first floor of a large building complex (maybe apartments?), and there were many locals dinning in. The space looked very homey and the tables were lined with green and white checkered tablecloths. There's a big chalk board with breakfast and lunch items and my friend and I decided on the following: Lunch -Italian Grilled Cheese $8.06 - This was a fantastic vegetarian sandwich. There was a lot of flavor and it the texture of all the ingredients worked together. I would get this again. -Tomato Basil Soup $4.16 and Chili $4.16: Standard soups -Pepperoni Roll $4.16 - I was told that this was West Virginia's state food so naturally we had to try it out. It was tasty and I'm glad that this restaurant put in cheese, but I kind of wished there were a little bit more. -Chef Salad $9.88: This salad had a good assortment of ingredients and gave me the much needed vegetables that I had been lacking on this roadtrip. Service The host was very quick and polite. Patrons would pick up their orders at the counter when it's ready. Summary It was a nice local joint and I enjoyed all the outdoor photos around the cafeteria.

Visited this location last night for an impromptu date night with my wife…read more Despite the holiday weekend, the business was busy and we had about a fifteen minute wait to be seated (they have both inside and outside waiting seating), we chose a bench outside in the cool evening air. Once our table was ready, we were notified by the hostess and seated at a high top near the bar (bar seating it first come first serve at the bar). They also have low top tables for parties of 4 to 6. Despite being close to the bar, we were still able to talk easily and noise level was acceptable. Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu and made some helpful suggestions that we used. We ordered a pickle fries appetizer with ranch dipping sauce with our drinks. These came out quickly and were still hot from the fryer but they were good and the homemade ranch was really good (our server advised they make all their sauces and dips in house). For our mains, we both ordered the original burger - a half pound burger on a bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles topped with ketchup, mustard and mayo. We also opted to pay an extra fifty cents to add cheese (American for me and provolone for her). We also opted to pay an extra fee to add sweet potato fries and onion rings to our meals as opposed to fresh cut chips. The burgers were a little slow getting out and drinks began to run dry. Once our burgers came out, they looked great but mine was a little salty and I could taste the salt over the other toppings in my first bite. After that the burger leveled out and we enjoyed our meal. My wife did not like the Maple Siracha dipping sauce that came with her sweet potato fries and after trying it, I was not impressed either. All in all, a good meal at a fair price. Good place for a casual date.
