And I like to eat where the locals eat, no chain restaurants for me if at all possible. So with those thoughts in mind I decided to give this restaurant a try. I'm so happy to have found this restaurant! A really nice place, serving huge portions of fresh food. The french fries were freshly made and delicious, salads looked extremely fresh, and the service was quick with a great attitude. The restaurant and bathroom was clean and without any bad odors, wonderful value for lunch. I had the pulled pork sandwich with fries as you can see in my photos. Come hungry! Small little unassuming place that truly delivers!

This comes with two sides. The slaw was good, and the hash brown cheese casserole was okay. The corn muffin was decent, with just a hint of honey. The pulled pork was served on a slice of toast. My personal favorite sauce was WV Gold, but they're all quite good. The pulled pork was tender and flavorful by itself. Good friendly service. Prices are excellent, especially for the quality of food you are being served.

We heard from so many folks that we needed to come try this gem but what we experienced first hand…read morewas an expensive bomb. There's an amazing selection of bourbon but I love tequila! My margarita was not good at all. So bad that I didn't even drink more than half which is just a sin when it comes to expensive cocktails. My husband's chicken sandwich had about as much chicken as a tiny tender strip. He left hungry. I had the steak special. Which had good flavors (as anything covered in cheese would) but if I'm paying $60 for a medium rare steak, it's a shame that it came out medium well. Roasted cauliflower was mid, I make better at home in my air fryer. Service was good but the waitress was pretty pushy with the extras like we were insane for not ordering appetizers and not letting her bring us a glass of 4 roses. Ambiance was fine. But the experience was not worth my money, not even if it was half the cost honestly.

The bar staff was outstanding from start to finish. We had a few different bartenders taking care of us, and each one was attentive, friendly, and great at helping with recommendations. We ordered the New York steak and the Brussels sprouts special. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium, and the Brussels sprouts hit that ideal balance--crispy, flavorful, and just right. Everything we had was packed with flavor. The drinks didn't miss either--ice-cold beer and expertly crafted cocktails all around. If you find yourself in Charleston, this spot is absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommend.

The restaurant has a big open layout with a dark, mellow vibe. Think "sushi lounge meets introvert sanctuary." Not the most vibrant setting, but calming in a "maybe I'll take a nap after this" kind of way. Our server was friendly. Props to the kitchen, too; our food arrived almost before we had time to debate chopstick technique. We started with the oyster tempura. I adore oysters, but this one didn't win me over. The batter was too thick, too oily--more crunch than creature, sadly. I had the Sushi Lunch (5 pieces of sushi + a California roll) with a house salad that came enthusiastically dressed. Like, the salad was ready for prom. The sushi itself? Serviceable but unremarkable. My husband ordered the Sweet Potato Roll, Rainbow Roll, and Godzilla Roll--a solid trio on paper, but they all kind of blurred together in practice. Not bad, just... unmemorable. Would we return? Probably not. But if we do, I'd skip the sushi and give the hibachi a shot--maybe the grill brings the thrill this place is missing.
