She explained, "The card will be good at all Nordstrom stores." I said, "Okay." So, I answered a few questions & voila! My new acct was opened on the spot. I was given a coupon as a courtesy for opening the new acct. After she rang up the items, my husband & I left the store. However, I had to go back in b/c she had forgotten to apply the discount! My husband went to the car and I went back in...ALONE! That was when the entire customer service experience completely changed!!! As long as my husband had been standing next to me, the employees smiled & were overly-friendly. When I stood in line to get the discount applied to my purchase, everything changed! They refused to apply the discount!?!?! I asked for a manager. When the "manager" got there, she refused to apply the discount as well. I explained that we had just purchased the items three minutes ago. I explained to her that her employees were polite to me as long as my husband was standing next to me. When I went back in ALONE...everything with her employees had shifted. Still...she refused. At this point, I began taking notes & asking questions such as, "Can you give me the number for Nordstrom's corporate office?" What is the name of the regional manager?" I asked any pertinent questions that might help me understand why the Nordstrom Rack was happy to open a new account but unwilling to apply the discount as advertised. The biggest lie that was told by their "manager" was that she didn't know the name of the regional manager. My husband & I later found out that the regional manager's office was housed in this particular location! Do you really expect customers to believe that a regional manager who offices out of your store is unknown to your managers? As a result of being lied to over details that don't really require lies, I closed my account with them after 7 days. Plus, my husband closed his account as well. We do NOT reward businesses that lie to us. There are too many other retail shops in our area that treat their customers with courtesy & respect. Nordstrom Rack & Nordstrom employees aren't trustworthy. Nordstrom's liars create unnecessary problems that aren't really worth the additional trouble. "Managers" who lie so easily about public information such as regional managers or other corporate contacts are NOT to be trusted. Nordstrom is supposed to be high-end experience that carries high-end merchandise. However, the ease with which their deceptive employees lie over such small issues is very concerning to me. If they can lie over small matters, they can lie over bigger matters which makes them very shady to do business with...in my opinion. HARD PASS ON NORDSTROM ET AL.

The Summer I Turned Into a Homegoods Shopper…read more I've never been into a Homegoods in my life but recently became very intrigued. I was out for a walk and decided to stop in. I found some cute items for Fall (Football platters for Game Day snackies, Fall candles, cute Halloween decor and a cozy blanket that's really helped make my sofa feel a bit more homey). I came back a week later to purchase a couple of Fall candles to gift to my baristas because they are the sweetest. I wanted a thoughtful little surprise for them. They know I've been struggling with this "mild" Texas summer and can't wait until Fall. I thought the candles would be a nice little gesture for them being little beacons of light during my weekdays. This is a great store to pick up items for the house at reasonable prices or quick little gifts for someone. I'll definitely be returning to keep a pulse on what types of things I find. American Airlines broke the wheel off my suitcase during my last trip, and so I was in need of a…read morenew one. Shopped all around and brought one home from Nordstrom Rack and TJ Max. At the end of what ended up being an 18 hour day, I found myself returning the TJ Max suitcase. But, as I showed the suitcase to the woman at checkout at Marshall's she informed me that I was at the wrong store, the tag on the case said TJ Max. We laughed, and I said "Oh no, where is the closest TJ Max?" Well it was 20 min away. I must have looked like I deflated into the floor. Then as I walked out Sadie called to me, "Sir, I can help you." I'm like, what do you mean?, this is Marshall's. Then she informed me that Marshall's and TJ Max are owned by the same parent company and that she knew how to do the return. What a random act of kindness, I was so grateful for that exceptional customer experience. A super special thanks to Sadie for letting me get home to see my kids and have some dinner instead of sending me on a trek to find the closest TJ Max. Thank you so much!

Those employees are aloof, or on busy days - frazzled and can barely deal with 2 customers at the same time.) I was greated by a nice lady as I walked in who answered 2 questions I had. A few minutes later I passed her again and she offered to alert the cologne staff I was headed that way. Awesome VIP service to a unknown customer! (Nafise - you are fabulous!) At the cologne area, Geraldyne took 45 minutes to help me evaluate Tom Ford colognes. It was so fun - and there was a vendor rep who joined us and helped. I had a blast!!! So, they gave me 3 sample tubes of the Tom Fords I likes most. But then they pulled out 14 other samples of high end men's colognes!! They even included the #1 winner of the best cologne in the world too (it won the world wide FIFI cologne competition). Then I got to chat for 30 minutes with Nafise on my way out. Turns out she is on the management team and awesome to know. Personally, I've not had such a great Neimans experience in decades. I'll NEVER go to Northpark or Downtown again. When we arrived there was a table with handheld mirrors and waters ready to go. Rick was our makeup artist today! He's amazing! Took the time with each one of us to listen to our wants and needs. He also taught us how to use the products. Bought several new items to go with all my trish products. So happy with the makeovers and all the products. Always love getting samples and Beaty event bags. Sarah always hooks me up with the offers and samples! She is such a joy! So glad she scheduled us with Rick too!
