Date of visit: February 12, 2025…read more I was admittedly impressed upon driving up to the store given that it looks like no other Target I've ever seen on the outside, the cabinesque look of the entrance lending itself well to it surroundings. But all of that initial feeling faded away quickly when I saw that both trash cans outside the store were absolutely overflowing, reminiscent of the aftermath of a music festival, the garbage piled high and also surrounding the cans as though they had not been emptied in days. This sadly is the new normal for Target, the high standards from when I worked there long abandoned as they continue to try to chase Walmart instead of doubling down on the service that set them apart and made them the superior choice. While the inside of the store was definitely cleaner than the exterior, service was MIA (also their new normal) as not a single employee interacted or even looked at me while we browsed the mens, electronics, and grocery departments. The cashier was definitely not friendly, either; exactly why I lean towards self-checkout these days, it's harder for a computer to be rude to you!

The registration system simply doesn't work, no matter what I try -- and once again, I was left stranded with no support. To make things worse, the in-store manager was not only unhelpful, but also rude and sassy, as if my inconvenience was an annoyance to them. I asked for assistance and was brushed off with attitude and zero effort to actually solve the issue. This I called customer service and stayed on the line for over an hour while still waiting in store. The result? Absolutely nothing. No resolution, no help, just more wasted time and frustration. For a company this size, this "discount" is nothing but a sham -- a marketing ploy that fails to deliver and leaves students hanging. After two years of this mess, I can confidently say: Target, do better. Or just stop pretending this discount exists.

Evidently I "disrespected her" by being in my cell phone when I went to pick up a product. I had a family matter I was trying to resolve with a person who was on the other side of the world in Singapore and I had finally reached them at the same time I got 5 min to slip out of work to make it during pharmacy hours. I work the same hours as city market pharmacy and I must take time out of work in order to pick up anything from the pharmacy. Iris was at the counter and asked for my date of birth, which I gave her while still on the phone. She told me I was not allowed to be on the phone. I said I was with a family member and needed to remain on the call. She picked up my product, put it in a basket behind the counter, and walked away without saying another word. She looked back at me, holding my cell phone to my ear with distain. Another loaded walked up and took over for "disrespected Iris". She kindly asked me ti end the conversation informing me- "you're not supposed to be on your cell phone ..." still confused and with hesitation, I ask my family member if I could call them back. I've been trying to reach her for days in Singapore! I hung up the phone, picked up my product, and asked for clarification about cell phone usage. She said it was disrespectful. I looked around the pharmacy for any notation or signage about cell phones being prohibited but I didn't see any. I was grateful for the kindness of the other lady, but Iris... Not sure what her problem is! City market, please clarify? And if there is some rule - post signs and please also help Iris with her customer service! We have a choice to go to other places around town and believe me- mine is going to CVS or Walgreens!

The staff was very helpful with recommendations on picking places to go and check out. The prices on the bikes are dependent upon which type of bike you rent. Another sales dept employee who was helping her put back downhill ski boots after about 5 minutes said he would get someone to assist. After waiting another 20 minutes we left and the saleswoman never even looked up or responded. I was a retail shoe salesman and you actually can go back and forth with two customers. Either crappy training or uncaring sales people.
