Terrible parking situation out there and I had to go around a maze just to find where to park and there was really never nowhere to park, I just had to situate myself in front and hope I would be OK out there. I was on time maybe a little early and the gal that was behind the counter said that all her techs were out to lunch so I continued to wait until one came back and he took care of me right away. Took it for a little spin to find out what was wrong with it and then brought it back. There was one other customer came by so I told him I would have to think about it because it was gonna cost a little over $1000 to get whatever part they had to send away for and I had to be certain this is what I wanted because he didn't wanna have to keep it there if I wasn't going to come and get it installed. After he was done with me, he went to wait on the other customer and as I was leaving, I thought how the heck am I gonna get out because she was on the other side of me and she stood in front of the door, so it was a very tight Exit/entrance and a little bit dangerous but I made it however I wouldn't ever wanna do that again. No one ever did come back like the techs from lunch to work on cars. I didn't see anyone there except the one guy that came back from lunch and then the one guy that was already there and that's all that was there for the remaining time that I was there. I didn't know what to do because I thought that was a bit much so I went ahead and told them I would have to think about it. The older guy gave me a card and said he needed $169 or something like that for alignment of the tires. I'm not sure what that is, but it was better than the thousand dollars for whatever they were gonna do just so I could have my power steering back which might have put everything else back into place so the control panel is still off. And this was my second estimate/opinion. I don't know, but I thought you know I would come back if I could save up some money and he said I need to come back right away because something was just spinning around many times per day just to make my car work. I can't see that happening. I barely go anywhere and when I do, it drives fine, but I am appreciative of the alignment of the tires or the wheels that he did because I can feel it and it feels better. However, if I'm gonna pay over $1000 for a part that I would have to be sent to him in order for him to do the work, I thought I would just rather buy a new car since he told me it was old. It's a 2017 but the old guy said it's old so cars break down more easily because they're making them less than they used to. read more

My husband brought his truck in on Dec 6 for new spark plugs. They had troubles getting one of the spark plugs out. Finally, on Friday December 10 they called to say they got the last spark plug out and mysteriously that piston was cracked. They weren't sure if it was our fault or their's so they said they'd split the cost with him. Seems nice, right? They even gave him a loaner that we picked up on Monday the 13th. After that, we heard absolutely nothing from them until I went in there on December 30 to ask how it was going. At that point, I was told that they got the truck running the night before, they were spending that day putting it all back together and they wanted to drive it the next morning and we could probably pick it up around 2:00. The next day? No call. January 3, no call. January 4, no call. Finally they called him in the 5th and said the timing chain was in pieces and they basically couldn't fix the truck...but I'm pretty sure they charged us for the new timing chain, even though they never called to discuss that extra expense with us. When my husband picked his truck up, it ran worse than it did when he dropped it off. Beware!! Unless you have a lot of time and money to spare, don't take your vehicle here!! read more

I took my daughters Durango to have an alignment. I was told it needed ball joints and other parts and nearly $600.00 worth of labor! Adding up to over $1000.00. I explained to the mechanic that I had just had it in the shop and did not have money for more repairs but needed my child's car safe. He took me under the truck and jiggled the tire assuring me it needed repaired. Even drew a picture on the printed quote he gave me.(clever.very convincing) He told me if it broke, it would tear up other parts of the vehicle and could be very dangerous. I didnt have the money to fix it that day and wanted a 2nd opinion. Thank goodness I got one..THE ONLY THING THAT TRUCK NEEDED WAS AN ALIGNMENT!! Exactly what I went in for to begin with. I had JUST had it repaired. I knew that sounded sketchy and I was right.. Horrible ..horrible business etiquette! Terrible customer care! Never take advantage of your customers.What an awful practice. I dont recommend this business to anyone. Below I have attached the quote they gave me for parts and repairs..i took this Durango to an HONEST establishment..and the ONLY thing I needed done was an alignment..I assure you..it did NOT cost me over $1000.00. I was two hours away from home and had to have it towed home because they said they " MAY " get to it on Tuesday. The owner told me that he would not refund any amount of my bill even though they broke my vehicle. He explained that it hurt his feelings that I would ask for a refund of any sort and now it was my problem to deal with. read more

Took my auto there for a maintenance tire rotation and was told when I picked it up that break needs replacing and that my front strut on the suspension is leaking and needs to be replaced soon (recommended replacing all 4 not just the front 2) . This would have been at least $1700 service. This is on a little over 40k miles on the vehicle which is really rare for this to happen. I called the dealership and several other auto repair places in town who were all surprised to hear this recommendations. Took my car to one of these auto repair place and was told my brakes may last at least another year before it really needs replacing (only 60% worn down) and there is barely a little moisture condensation on the rubber housing around the said "leaking" strut. Bottom line, dishonest repair shop looking to make more money on finding minor issues with your car. Do not take your car there! read more

I have had 2 alignments on 2 different vehicles done at this shop- and while they did complete the alignment properly, it was not fully complete. The steering wheel was not adjusted to compensate for their alignment- on both vehicles... this means that driving straight down the road, my wheel says i should be turning. An attentive technician should catch this on a test drive... CIGARETTE SMOKE... my truck smelled of smoke after picking it up, which was 3 hours later than i had expected. They did the work, but the level of excellence could be greatly improved. The desk guy was nice and helpful.‍ read more

These might be the nicest people I've ever met. I just walked just to get a headlight swapped out because the bolt wouldn't nudge for me, and they said they'd squeeze me in right away since it wouldn't take any time at all. Then I watched a girl's rental car service stand her up and she asked for the number of a cab. The woman behind then counter then offered to take her to work!!!!!! They just left so she could run her downtown so she wouldn't be late. Then the gentleman from the shop came in and explained all the costs and how the customer could save some funds if needed to, but clearly laid out what the trade offs were. Everyone is so kind and there's free wifi. Granted I didn't get anything serious done here, but if I lived in Springfield, I would DEFINITELY come back and give them a go. read more

In those 7 years, we had everything from a basic oil change to new breaks to new tires and everything in between and we were pleased every time. They never performed any work until it was discussed with us and we gave the "Ok". The entire team cares about their work and it shows. They owners are hard workers and honest. They are a GEM! I was passing through town on a road trip and decided my A/C, which had been struggling to keep the heat at bay during the hottest hours of the day, was going to need to work better if I was going to survive the rest of the trip. Tuffy replaced some leaky valves in the A/C system, and refilled the system with refrigerant, dye, and compressor oil. The engine ran really rough but the AC worked. Five weeks later on the drive back to Houston from Philly the AC stopped working. I took my car to my mechanic in Houston and they said the refrigerant was overcharged. They removed some refrigerant and the A/C worked again for about two weeks before the compressor died. It turns out that overcharging the A/C can damage the compressor, a fact that is well known to mechanics (except apparently the ones at Tuffy). So Tuffy's mistake is going to cost me around $1500 to fix. I recommend you take your car some where else for service. read more

I was extremely pleased with their service, and how friendly everyone was. I thought I had a rotor or wheel bearing problem, but as it turned out, my wheel was very close to falling off! I'm a working girl, and have a lot of Dr apts and work schedules on my plate, but they looked at my car the same day it came in, gave me a call not even an hour later, and didn't charge me a dime! I also had a great experience with them the next day when I could NOT get a hold of Springfield Taxi to pick me up from my doctors apt to take me to Tuffys. I called Tuffys to ask if they did a shuttle service, which they don't, but they offered to come and get me anyway! Didn't even charge me for any gas or milage, and didnt even accept the offer when I asked them if they wanted any! I'm so very pleased with their service and friendliness, and will defiantly be bringing my business to them in the future. Thank you Tuffys! read more
