While on the highway, I got a flat front passenger tire. I had already booked my Genesis to go to the Hyundai dealer for a wheel alignment, but then the tire thing happened. I went to another shop and purchased a tire because I didn't trust driving to Orlando on the spare. That also was a mistake. I blame myself mostly, because my car has never been to any other shop than the dealer and most of these places have no clue how to care for luxury cars. I paid for a wheel alignment, balance and oil change. When they were done, my car was driving like crap. It was not driving as smooth as it usually does. I brought the car back to them, I don't know what they did but they took it out for a drive 3x. When they came back they said it was fine. It was not fine. It was driving rough, and even shaking when it got to a certain speed. I drive out and came right back and asked again for the supervisor. The "probable" issues were: 1. Maybe your barely driven car has a transmission issue that's why it's shaking. 2. Something is wrong with your 2 brand new tires that's why they are riding so rough. I won't say what the real issue was which was partially their fault when I finally brought it to the dealer, but needless to say they will never touch my car again. I had to get another wheel alignment and balance. I considered bringing the report from the dealer to them, but I was so disgusted I knew I would get into an argument with the supervisor so I decided to just take the loss and never go back there and I probably won't recommend anyone to go there either. If you don't know how to service a certain car, you should tell the customer. read more

My tire exploded the night before and I was desperate to find a business that can change both the back tires the next day so I can head to work. I called and the front desk at 11:30AM and they picked up really fast! He said that I can drop off the car now and they'd have it ready by 3PM. Quickest oil change of my life that wasn't an instant oil change place. I was able to make a same day appointment for an oil change which was really convenient because I had been putting it off and really needed one. My appointment was at 3- I was 6 minutes late, and my car was finished at 3:37PM. I was impressed. And it wasn't just me either! Another lady literally said the same thing when her car was ready too. Super friendly staff as well which is always nice. There is also free WiFi, which is a plus - I was able to bring my laptop and work while I waited. The dealer told me the parts would be back ordered and could not schedule my repair for another week; but I had to drive out of town in 2 days. BE AWARE! My car was overheating and brought it to those guys. They gave me a quote of +$3,800 informing lots of parts that need to be replaced. Pulled the car out for a second opinion and found out that the only part that needs to be replaced was a thermostat. Spent $90 bucks plus the service. Lifesaver! I was on my way home when my steering wheel started shaking and my wheels felt off and making noise. I drove slow, parked by Winn Dixie and gave them a heads up that I'm nearby. I know they are closing soon and if I could go straight to them? Mr. Carl was waiting outside, heard my car making noise, test drove it a few yards and parked it inside to be lifted. He said I can just leave it but Justin (it says on the receipt) worked on it real fast and I was out there right by the time they close. He showed us the heavy metal rusted part they replaced. They said it's common for old explorers to have the same issue and I think they sort of specializes on it too. A little pricey but they did an awesome job. Seriously the fastest time I've ever visited a shop, quicker than the last time me and my husband had an oil change by Valvoline. On my drive home it was really smooth and was worth all the effort. I took my car here for a oil change it's new car no leaks or problems when I came in I got the oil change done the only recommendation they gave me was for new tires so today I was driving my car sounded rough I noticed it was leaking oil very bad come to find out they never tightened the drain plug after they did the oil change so now it's looking like 1200 I'll have to put in my car to fix all the damage from the bad oil change I've called up here and left messages with absolutely no response whatever u do do not go here!!!!!! read more

Excellent service excellent prices, exceptional employees. I'm getting ready for a summer adventure , driving to Colorado to see my grand kids and play in the mountains. I took my van to Tuffys for a hot smelling engine and brakes and... Cole tried to explain what the problem was and I clearly wasn't understanding what a "hose assembly" looks like and what it's importance to the whole cooling system. We ended up under the vehicle with a flashlight pointing to the problem area. It took longer for him to show me and help me understand but it made me feel so good about all the work that was done . Yes I paid a lot of money for the work but it was worth it and the van drives so nice and gas mileage is up. The mechanic Andrew was very good and clean, he also gave me a ride home. I have been taking my cars to this location for the past 6 years. Took the car for a driver side wheel bearing replacement. They recommended replacement to both sides which I accepted (~$1000). They ended up damaging the passenger side rotor (or replacing them with old ones). They wanted me to paid for the fixes to the rotor which I refused. After my second trip back complaining about the damaged rotor, it was replaced, but they were waiting for me outside to give me the keys. There goes respectful and good service down the drain. The car does not run well any longer and needs the other rotor repaired as well. I will never go back here. read more

After waiting 2 hours for a basic oil change at a competitor I tried Tuffy. That was a year ago and I haven't been anywhere since. The staff is friendly and professional. They have never disappointed. My wife's car needed timing belt done they suggested replacing the water pump at the same time. This sounded funny so I called a few other shops and then asked a friend who is a retired mechanic. Tuffy was not only correct for suggesting the water pump but they were spot on with the price. I went to to Karl and told him I have a problem with my rear door it's jammed and I can't get it to open he fix the problem later on that same day he was able to get the door open and told me that the problem was that there was alot of glass keeping the door from opening then the next day my door again wasn't opening and he told me he charged me 100$ to just open the door he didn't charge me fix the issue.... meaning karl is only after my money because his next words was if you want me to fix it i will have to charge you.. so be careful when doing business with this man read more

Having been to a few shops in the area, I've come to avoid some and experiment around with others. Largely, their failures have to do with transient management. Vehicle owners need a relationship that is built on trust, similar to a patient:Doctor relationship. So this is where I stop the shopping and experimental process. I don't have a lack of mechanical knowledge, although it has become much more technical over the years. That's part of why I no longer visit other shops. At Karol's Tuffys I get integrity, straight talk and a genuine effort to care for my vehicles. There may be other places in town but I feel like good service comes and goes in those places. And did I mention relationships? Today I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. Karol let me know that my brake pads were pretty much nonexistent. He also noticed that I had bought some parts for my truck for a weekend project - or what a call a 5 or 6 beer project. Karol had his team install my project free of charge. That comes from a relationship forged in trust and respect. Try gettin that kind of experience somewhere else. Karol and his team are top notch and real people. This is what a town like this should be like but it rarely is anymore. That's why I've come here for the past 7 years and never gone anywhere else. I went to Tuffys and was absolutely disappointed. They honestly are a prime example for why so many people don't trust mechanics anymore. I went in to get my AC fixed.. They told me it'd be $700 dollars for everything and I would never have a problem again.. You may say I'm dumb for spending that much, but at the pace I was at (working in my car for my job) the Florida humidity had reached it's limit with me. The headliner had even peeled off from it all. So I was up for anything to get the job done. Everything was fine for about a month, but then it went out. They told me it'd be fine to bring it in for no charge (heck, it should be for that amount of money I spent on it). They said they aren't sure what's wrong with it, but later came to the conclusion the "repair" didn't fix the AC problem. They told me I'd need to spend $1.2K to fix it again. That's almost $2K together for an AC alone. And they told me, it STILL might NOT even fix the problem. I could buy a newer but used car for that money. I will never go back there. Karl is a nice guy, but their work (or their scams I should say) are pathetic. Plain and simple DONT GO THERE! Trust me. read more

The first time I went to Tuffy's in St. Cloud, was last year and I was very pleased with their service, then I sent my husband back a few months ago after calling and speaking to a young man on the phone who stated bring it right in there's no wait, it'll be about 1 hour top with the tire rotation and all. My husband went & told the young man he needed an oil change and a tire rotation, they did the oil change and he was out of there in like 30 mins. I asked him did they do the tire rotation he said he wasn't really paying attention, but he did say he saw the guy take off one tire and that was all. I strongly believe the guy didn't rotate my tires becasue they were new; the thing is that I wanted my tires rotated becasue I had them for a few months already when he changed the oil. I always rotate my tires with my oil change. Needless to say I was very upset. read more

They messed up simple oil changes, transmission oil changes, break pads, and missed (or purposely didn't tell me) other serious issues that the dealer found - 'and actually showed me'.
