Quite a find! OK, I have to admit reservations when we entered the parking lot, but I happen to like holes in the wall, and there's no other term for this place. When you're greeted with "what are you drinking?" then you know this is going to be a good place. It's a buffet, so you eat what they cooked. And today was fried pork chop and shrimp creole. And Lord have mercy, it was good! I heaped my plate with the shrimp, of course. Then helped myself to the mini corn fritters. They were coming with more potatoes, but I didn't have room either on my plate or in my belly! My wife said they were very good. We did force ourselves with dessert, and that buttermilk pudding topped everything off perfectly! Oh, and we drank unsweet tea, which was brewed then and there. Amazing food. Thursday is my fav buffet. Country fried steak & fried chicken. Their mac & cheese or green beans are outstanding. Homemade from scratch everything is fresh, hot and never disappointed! The staff is extremely friendly and professional. Excellent service, food and atmosphere. We enjoyed them so many Thursdays we begged them to cook for our wedding which was also fantastic! This place is CLOSED DOWN. I went out of my way to have lunch here on a road trip and the spot looks creepy and abandoned. Old tools and bikes near the door and the parking lot is gated off. They need to announce closures!! read more

The fried chicken was on point. We just moved here and happened to pass by when they were open. Apparently Mon thru Friday they close at 2pm. It was super delicious the server kept our drinks full and we had a filling lunch and we're ready for a nap it was soo good read more

I'm so sorry to leave a bad review for a locally owned place. But the buffet was pretty bad. Nothing cooked from fresh? Prefab chicken fried steak, the gravy for that that tasted of raw flour, not so tasty fried chicken. The green beans were my favorite item, and that was the only green veg. Mashed potatoes weren't bad. For me, 15 dollars (including drink) was overpriced by 50%, but a few folks there really chowed down. Multiple buffet trips. It's not open 3 days a week, serves lunch buffet only for most days, but on Friday night (only) you can order from the menu. I suspect something bad--Was it the pandemic?--happened to this place. We sought out a "local" place and this is the model for such a jewel. Very good buffet lunch choices with neighbors who work or maybe live in the area. Nice friendly banter. Terrific staff. Very fair pricing of fifteen dollars each for everything. It has a gravel drive and might look closed but it is not. Some of the customers reported driving quite a way just to eat there. We made a few efforts to find local places in our cross/country road trip and some fail, some and kinda ok and this was a real find! read more

We travel a lot and eat at restaurants a lot. We stopped here on our way back home after a looong day the day after hurricane Zeta came through. Many restaurants were closed. We arrived so close to closing time that we even apologized. This place is GREEEEAT. I ordered the shrimp dinner with a baked potato and salad and my husband had the hamburger steak with with onions, gravy and fries. OMG! Everything was perfectly cooked and served with a great attitude! We will be back when back in the area. Even the Dessert was great. FYI: I rarely give a place 5 stars- but I would give them 10 if I could! Amazingly well cooked food. My fried shrimp did not taste oily or was it heavily breaded. Wow what a great dinner. We both got the buffet, fried fish, boiled shrimp, shrimp broccoli rice casserole, stuffed crabs, fried shrimp such a surprise how wonderful everything tasted. Homemade dishes that change daily: gumbo, huge fried pork chops, liver and onions, etc. Different everyday and the desserts are fresh and tasty. Tucked into the woods, Tugus has a very loyal following, many who come every day. The atmosphere feels like a get together where everyone is super friendly. read more

Sooooo we picked this place based on a few good yelp reviews. We just got into town and were looking for lunch, preferably some good south home cooking. We found it. At first, we thought this place was a dump, because of the appearance of the older building, but don't let that fool you. Today (Sunday and mother's day, around 130pm), we had brisket and an assortment of veggies. The brisket was awesome, the home made stuffing, the carrots, the corn, and the desert. All home made. All very tasty. We are here for a week, and will be back. read more

For the price the best All-you-can-eat seafood in this area. Always enjoy the service and then food. Plus they have steaks.

Excellent country cafe, with easy access off I-10. Have stopped here twice on Thursdays for good reason - liver/onions & rice and gravy on Thurs only. Also, great fried chicken - pan fried , not deep fried, makes big difference. Good fresh veggies and cake desserts. I rarely eat dessert at lunch, but the pound cake & pineapple cake won out over another plate of liver, good as it was. read more
