Ordered delivery. Was super fast and arrived warm! Presentation was also great (check out the pic). Giving 4/5 stars bc I've had better tasting Pad Thai before, but it was decently priced and a decent amount of food

So you are on 17th ave and you want something not so pricy on this block. You don't want to spend too much so come to Tuk Tuk Thai. The price of an entrée is about $11. Not bad. Food was good. I really like the take out box. Its in a bow flower shape and it opens in to a plate. Cool. So I got the red curry chicken. Decent portion. Very flavorful. Tried their skewer. Not bad and comes in two. Great for sharing. Flavorful. I would say. Also tried the mango salad. This is my favorite. Its different than how other thai place makes it. It doesn't have mango strings but mango chunks. At first, we were like is this authentic. But who cares if its authentic or not. It tasted really good. My favorite. The mango was nice and sweet. Also they were very generous on the mango. Overall. Pretty good. The place is like a fast food style place. Seating is somewhat limited. I do recommend coming here.

Fantastic flavour, food, and service at Tuk Tuk Thai on 17th Ave.SW. Will be back for the Drunken Basa and Pad Thai with chicken satay skewers! The fried banana is awesome as a sweet treat.

    Cute take out box!

Tuk Tuk has been on my "must try" list for ages. Finally got my opportunity when we were looking for a place to have 1st dinner and pass a bit of time before 2nd dinner (I know I'm not the only one that does this lol) Although catered towards take out (entrees come in cute lotus flower shaped boxes!), we were able to share an order of the veggie springs rolls and tofu pad thai at the bench style tables they have set up. The pad thai was full-flavored, fresh and delish! At $10/entree, you're not breaking the bank and you're getting a great meal too!

Unless you like rocks in your pad Thai?? I wouldn't recommend it. Broke my tooth. Why would they have stones in their pad Thai?? Food is very salty and the girl at the front counter really grumpy. I would think twice if you want authentic Thai, I would equate this to Mc Thainolds!

The food comes in this cute little box

What a fun little spot to go get your Thai fix for a great price. I'd only heard good things about this place, then following a late morning coffee just a few doors down, I decided to get some lunch. Before you knew it, I was walking in the door at Tuk Tuk Thai and pulling up a seat at the end of one of their tables. I sat by the door and was able to people watch while I had lunch (which I love to do). Decent amount of choices on the menu, but not overwhelming. It's a takeout place so there are only a few seats available but the seats are great based on the fact this is a take out place. I went simple today and ordered cashew chicken. It arrived in a super cute little flower shaped box. Good size, very flavourful. I'm looking forward to returning and making my way through the menu. The service was good, lots of seating, food was great and price spot on.

I've seen this place during my numerous passes up and down 17th Avenue over the months and always wondered about what the food tasted like. Well yesterday I had the chance to pop by for a quick pad Thai which was really good and a papaya salad. The papaya salad was fresh, crispy, and full of flavour. A little on the wet sauce side but hey we did finish it easily. The interior was quite mesmerizing where I caught myself staring at the giant Montage that you just don't see these days in food offerings around town. The decorative mini cab vehicles were a nice touch. Price was reasonable at $16ish for the two dishes total. The pad Thai came in their signature take out box that opened like a flower blossom into a dish, kinda cool.

Tuk Tuk is one of my favourite lunch spots when I need something to go, the place is adorable with lots of Thai decorations. The menu prices seemed typical for Calgary and are consistent across most of the dishes. It's great for takeout as the dishes come in cute lotus flower containers and they have handy bags for transport. I've recommended Tuk Tuk to a few different people and they've all really enjoyed their experiences.

Dim Sum After Landing -- A Very Sad Story…read more We came straight from the airport to this Chinese restaurant because the Google reviews looked amazing. My boyfriend picked it, and honestly, walking in, the place looked clean enough. Service was fine too. So far, hope was alive. Then the food arrived. The BBQ Pork Rice Crepe was very average. The BBQ pork was loose and messy, the sauce leaned too sweet, and the rice noodle wrapper was so soft it basically gave up the moment my chopsticks touched it. The green vegetable on the side had no flavor at all. 2/5 The Steamed BBQ Pork Buns were a true disappointment. There was barely any BBQ pork inside, and the bun itself looked fluffy but somehow became super sticky in the mouth. Even my boyfriend, who is usually the least picky human alive, took two bites and pushed the bun skin aside. His review: "This is really bad." 1/5 The Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings tasted exactly like frozen supermarket dumplings. The $2.99 bag kind. And somehow they were not even crispy. Tragic. 1/5 The Har Gow and Steamed Spareribs were also forgettable. No personality, no flavor, no joy. But the most depressing dish was the Chicken Clay Pot Rice. I saw vegetables. I saw mushrooms. I saw chicken. I saw three sad slices of Chinese sausage. What I did not see was flavor. Not even salt showed up to work today. It honestly made me wonder: did the head chef call in sick? Or was the chef just having a very bad day and decided to cook food that matched the mood? Overall: 1/5 A deeply disappointing meal. By the end, I was seriously questioning whether the Google reviews were written by real customers or hired by the restaurant's emotional support team. Absolutely terrible.

The ranch burger and milkshake would of been more than enough for me (as that was a very hefty burger!) but also tried their smash browns (big potato chunks crisped up and super delicious enough to take home the remainder). I really liked the layout and lighting in the restaurant but as an added bonus, there is also a patio out back (I think you still need to go inside to order at the counter though) and free 3 hr parking for those eating there. I didn't realize about the parking until after I was done my appointment (that would of saved me from struggling with paying for parking on an old iphone that doesn't like indigo QR links...). So now I know for next trip to Calgary this is the spot to stop. Also, just an extra nod to the the two working (I believe they both were owners). Super friendly, will chat or leave you to enjoy your meal and really went the extra step with bringing out the good hot sauce and ketchup even before the meal was ready.

I tried 3 samdwiches: Satay beef, tofu and chicken banh mi. They all were filled to the max with toppings that I could not finish it all. Personally the satay beef was the most delicious. The tofu or chicken was also delicious if beef isnt your style. I highly recommend putting a bit of hoisen sauce on the sandwich which is provided on the tables. It really adds a delcious flavour to the banh mi. Try it!!! Amazing location on 17th avenue is very centrally located with ample street parking. There's a mobile kiosk to order takeout or dine in, you can also find a staff near the front and order there. We pick our own seats and the staff brought us our food once it's ready. It took quite a bit of time to get our orders. I ordered the ultimate bowl which is essentially vermicelli noodles with grilled meats. It did not come with fish sauce and I had to ask the staff for it. This is weird because typically when I go to Vietnam restaurants, they usually provide this automatically. Overall the portions were pretty big, the Thai tai fries were really good. I couldn't finish the ultimate bowl (maybe 40% of it). Flavour was pretty strong and I think there's MSG in it. I had to refill my water many times (self serve). The customer service can be improved but they were also swamped with Uber eats orders.
