A yogi's hidden gem in Pierce County. I am in such deep gratitude for this yoga studio. It all started over a year ago when I moved myself and my family out here to this area. I knew I wanted to get back into yoga and decided to try out Tuladhara's new student special last summer for my birthday gift to self. Best decision of my 30's thus far! Fast forward to over a year now being at this studio: 1. I have never felt more connected to Self while practicing on my mat nowadays, all thanks to the amazing teacher staff here (special shout out to Alicia, Leslie, Laura, Sona and Caitlin!). 2. I am officially certified as a 200 Hour RYT myself THANKS to this studio. I took their 200 Hour training earlier this year and have since then graduated (extremely life-changing experience for those interested in becoming a certified yoga instructor or to simply deepen your practice). 3. I want to build a home inside the wall and live in it. This place is awesome. I have taken a few classes here and got to try out the entire month for $30 (only for the introduction month). My latest class was with Kat and it was the Yin Candle light (Cate is usually the instructor). What a relaxing way to end the week with stretches that hold and test your will to just be. Another class I have taken and loved is the gong bath meditation with Wayne Barto. The vibration of the enormous gongs send you in to a state of pure bliss and total submission to just give in to the space and be renewed through their energy. I've been to many studios in the last few years, and this is my favorite one on the West Coast. I recently started attending again after a long hiatus due to life/injury/work/Covid, and the happiness I felt coming back was incredible. This is one of those rare studios in which every person there makes you feel welcomed and cared for. The staff is friendly, the studio bright and serene, and the location could not be more convenient. However I would say that the top reasons for trying this studio is are as follows: everyone is knowledgeable but not pretentious at all, the studio have vibes of peace and happiness (and for good reason), there is a huge mix of classes and instructors (so there is something for everyone), and it's truly a place to feel like you're a community member. As a decades long yoga practitioner, I've unrolled my mat in many yoga studios. I recently renewed my membership at Tuladhara and thought I'd tell my fellow Yelpers why. Tuladhara is an exceptionally organized and well run studio. Excellent teachers. Plenty of variety and class times. Friendly yogis. Lovely reception staff. Beautiful, light, bright and spacious studio without mirrors. Not too hot. Not too cold. Just right. Cute boutique and a massage practice on site. Changing area with showers. Tuladhara offers teacher training, assorted workshops, beginner classes and, during summer, unique yoga classes outside at Chambers Bay. Tula has the best introductory offer in town: 30 days for $30 dollars. A $17 drop in fee includes use of a top quality mat. Community class is $5. I am truly appreciative of their reasonable membership rates, too. Members can bring a guest for free several times a year. With a Starbucks across the street and an H&L Produce sharing their corner, the location is great. Parking is free and plentiful. Namaste! read more

Found this yoga studio via MindBody App. Alicia (spelling?) the owner was so welcoming! I already loved the place two minutes into it. The studio??? GORGEOUS!!!! You cannot find a better studio in the area I promise! It was very clean, showers available and great location. The owner and I got to talking and I just absolutely loved her spirit, courage to open this place and her passion for what she does. The class was very small but instructor was great. She gave great adjustments for people who needed it and challenged me when I needed it. It was a great class to end my busy work week but a good class to jumpstart my weekend. They just opened a few weeks ago so go check them out! I highly recommend them! By the way, your first class is free! Yay!!!! read more

This is such a warm, inviting, and lovely studio. The instructors are welcoming and the atmosphere is comfortable. The space is clean and the studio offers classes everyday so you have choices. There are special events that you can sign up for and there is always parking available. They have plenty of props available to use and the studio is kept warm but not crazy warm like a hot yoga studio. read more

I moved to the area on 12/31, hadn't done yoga in a few months. I found this studio, I was hesitant because I had left an amazing studio back East. My first class was with Alicia, it was great! I missed a few days and got back into the saddle and all I can say, I am HOOKED on Tuladhara! The atmosphere is what I need! I'm an Army Veteran and like many others, I battle with PTSD and Major Depression. Yoga is definitely my place for mental peace and clarity. I fell in love with Tuladhara the first week I joined. The studio is gorgeous!! The high ceilings, skylights, huge windows.. I'm a sunlight freak, so this all white sunlit room is heaven. All the instructors are creative, versatile, challenging, and so caring! They are all hands on and switch up their sequences daily. This is hard to find in the area. Majority of yoga classes I show up new and receive no personal attention, and find the classes repetitive . For students that are always trying to grow these are important factors. It seems like they frequently host workshops for wellness and fun events as well. It's great to be apart of a studio that cares about their members and continue to build on these relationships. This place is absolutely lovely! I drive well out of my way to visit when I'm able. Really incredible staff. Casey H. is one of the most gifted yoga instructors I've had the pleasuring of practicing with. She is kind, welcoming, intuitive, and an incredible leader in the classroom. She is very talented at encouraging modifications for ALL levels, from beginner to advanced, and stages of life such as pregnancy, various injuries, etc. (I have not had the opportunity to practice with the other staff members yet, but I do look forward to it!) The space itself is so gorgeous -- lofted ceilings with skylights and plenty of windows allow natural light and air to flow in the practice room. Changing areas and restroom are very clean and well maintained. Your first class is FREE, so that is a major bonus. Cannot recommend this place enough. Definitely go! read more

I found Tuladhara about a year ago with one of my dear friends and we have been going back addictively ever since. There is a wonderful variety in teachers and class styles and intensities, making the studio friendly to well practiced yogis and also for friends who are first timers. I have to give a special shout out to the Expanding Levels Vinyasa class with Laura. She guides creative, challenging, and fun classes every single week and is very in tune with her class. I love this place! The teachers are absolutely wonderful and each time I walk into the studio I feel comforted and welcome. The studio is clean, bright and I LOVE how they keep the studio a little warmer than most other studios. I participated in the Budokon series and had a blast! I have been waiting eagerly for the studio to open and when it did, I was the one of the first few people to sign up for their complimentary weekend classes. The studio is beautiful, you can tell they put hard work into it. The 3 main reasons I signed up at this studio was because of the type of yoga they offer, the schedule and the amazing instructors!! This is the REAL yoga, the real deal. Check out their schedules, they offer at least 4 sessions on the weekdays that would fit most schedules. Beautiful studio, welcoming and encouraging instructors. Having never practiced yoga in a studio setting before, I was a bit apprehensive but willing to give it a try. Took a 6 week Beginner Yoga series, where not only do you have your weekly class you also have access to any other drop in class during the 6 weeks. I've had classes with several different instructors, and was comfortable and challenged in all classes. I've been in classes with people much more advanced than I am at this point - and was not intimidated at all. read more

I absolutely love this studio! The interior design is minimalist style and gorgeous! They have showers for those who have to rush to work after a class. The shop has the cutest clothes. I have not practiced with all teachers, but the ones I have, give their students the attention necessary to help prevent injury and correct postures. I love Tuladhara! I was given the 30 days for $30 as a birthday gift from my mom, and day 1 I was hooked. Alicia is so kind and such a warm, welcoming person. All of the instructors I've had are so friendly and helpful. My favorite way to start the week is Sean's 6 am Monday morning class! I always leave feeling refreshed and energized. He helps me with the poses and gently readjusts me if needed. The best way to end the week is Kelly's Candlelight class at 7 pm on Sunday's. I always leave feeling relaxed and ready to tackle the week ahead. She does a rockin' core session and I find myself craving it throughout the week! Truly, give Tuladhara a try. I am a devoted yogi. One my priorities when I moved from Seattle to Tacoma was to find my favorite yoga studio. I tried all the non-hot yoga studios in the area and when I took my first class in Tuladhara, I knew I have found MY yoga studio! The space is calming and beautiful. I love the skylight, high ceiling and floor to ceiling windows! The changing/shower/bathroom area makes you feel like you're in a spa. Over the past couple months I have taken classes with Casey, Erin and Andre and I must say they are akin to the best yoga instructors in Seattle! Everyone is so welcoming and gracious as well.
