I usually don't leave reviews (unless my experience at a place was well enough to leave one) but I thought this emergency vet clinic deserved one. Around 8pm on march 21st my cat started having trouble breathing and she started convulsing. She wasn't breathing until my brother would shake her to start breathing again. We rushed her to this emergency clinic but she sadly passed away in my brothers arms in the car just two minutes from the clinic. The team was fantastic. One of the members there who took my cat to the back let us stay there for as long as I needed and didn't judge me for crying loudly. My mother paid $600 in total for my beloved cat to be cremated and to have a clay print of her paws which in my opinion is a great price. About a week(ish) later we got to pick up her ashes and the clay print we were promised and I believe the team went above and beyond. I received a card with the team's signatures and a certificate of cremation. read more

I've had some very amazing experiences with the majority of the staff here. Every time i've come they've been understanding and very communicative. Everyone to help were female and extremely compassionate and competent. The vet techs were friendly and knowledgeable and my cats have always been treated very well. They treated our Titi so well when he held to be held over the weekend, and allowed us calls and checkups to see how he was doing. They were all so sweet and let us know how much they loved him. I recently had to put a stray I had been caring for down and they were so kind and patient and even recognized my mom as Titis owner. It felt like they really cared. They explained everything and got him cleaned up so that he could have a dignified farewell. We got his clay paws and they gave us two cards for both my boyfriend and I (we didn't know they'd do this and it was such a thoughtful thing to do) with an ink print of his little snout on it along with some signatures. My only negative experiences have been with the purple haired girl there. She is usually sitting at the desk. The way she speaks to pet parents there is appalling. I've watched her flat out ignore customers if they are not standing exactly where she wants them in line, cut people off, and just be extremely rude as well as not relaying necessary information until prompted. I understand needing to be firm and calm in stressful situations, but the other workers there can do it without belittling and making just nasty and unnecessary comments. She was being so unpleasant to the people in the waiting room regardless of what they were there for. I couldn't believe her lack of decency and talent for escalating calm and respectful situations to anger and irritation. read more

WTH. Tried to get on the list at 2:33AM 2/10/2025 but was told they aren't seeing any other animals until 8am until another Vet arrives. No triage of incoming animals until then. What is the point of an emergency veterinary clinic if they will not triage and treat animals. Not recommended. This is an urgent need that the proprietors of this organization need to examine. I had a positive experience at this ER a couple of years ago with a different doctor, so it's disappointing to write this review after my most recent visit. A few days ago, I brought my cat in because he was clearly not acting like himself and seemed to be declining quickly. I was charged over $600 for bloodwork and fluids. I was told it was "inflammation" and not an infection, because his white blood cells weren't high enough (yet, it was still coming on little did I know) and no antibiotics were prescribed. After we got home, I still felt something wasn't right. He was declining still and couldn't even make it to the litter box on his own. I called back and asked if antibiotics could be considered, but the vet declined. The very next day, I took his bloodwork results from this vet to another vet in town, and they prescribed antibiotics. Within a short time, my cat began improving significantly. I understand that early bloodwork can sometimes be inconclusive, but my cat's results showed elevated white blood cells and suspected bands, which can indicate an early or developing infection. Yes maybe it wasn't "enough at the time" but it was certainly coming on. Trust your gut and always get a second opinion! Despite all of this, I was told it was only inflammation and no antibiotics were prescribed even when I asked again. As a pet owner, it was very frustrating to feel dismissed when I could see he was getting worse. What concerns me most is what could have happened if I had simply trusted that advice and not sought a second opinion. And "waited it out" Not every pet owner has the knowledge, resources, or ability to go to another vet the next day. In my case, another vet reviewed the same bloodwork, prescribed antibiotics, and my cat began improving quickly. If I had waited, the infection could have progressed and become much more serious or he could've went septic and died. I hope the clinic takes both lab findings and owner concerns more seriously in the future, especially in situations where a pet is clearly declining. Was their harm in trying antibiotics???? Animals should not have to suffer due to a trained vet's neglect to just try antibiotics!! I shouldn't have had to go to another vet to get him treated. He is obviously now improving from infection but please don't let other animals go through this. read more

Taylor Vet Hospital saved my dogs life. I was quoted an egregious amount of money at another vet hospital in Modesto. They wanted, on the high end, $5,889 upfront. Of course, my family did not have the means for that. Not only did TVH estimate in the two thousand range, they ended up giving me a refund from my initial deposit. Total for services was $1,199. They treated me and my chihuahua with compassion and care. The vet was kind and explained everything throughly. We took my 16 year old cat (Me Too) in on Sunday afternoon. He has a history or CKD and receives sub-q fluids and meds for nausea daily. He had developed a distended abdomen. The entire staff were professional, efficient, kind, and compassionate from beginning to end. Dr. Heather quickly diagnosed him with ascites and a new grade 2 heart murmur. She thoroughly explained why and how this condition occurs, the prognosis and ongoing needs. She had a couple of suggestions since his condition is considered grave. Because he is a senior cat with his long-term health history we could 1) have her drain as much fluid off as possible without using sedation (due to his age) or 2) consider humane euthanasia. Me Too, up to this point has had a good quality of life despite his CKD. When feeling well, he is able to eat and still enjoys a laser light tag game. His eyes said, "I'm not there yet". With that in mind, knowing his ascites will return with time and his care is a slippery slope, we opted to have the fluid drained. She was able to remove 660 ml of fluid and prescribed Enaplapril for his heart and Prednisone. We will also cut his Sub-q fluids in half. Me Too was much more comfortable without the extra fluid on board when we left. I would also like to mention the receptionist. She went above and beyond when she called the staff in the back for an update for those of us waiting. I thought that was remarkable. I wish I remembered her name. The place is clean and the prices very reasonable for a pet emergency room. Highly recommend 10/10. This is our second time needing to use their services and my experience the first time was also excellent. read more

Don't recommend taking if your dog is in pain and feeling "feisty". I'm writing this because I used to trust this vet completely. I've gone here every time we've had an emergency, and until now, every visit came with nothing but kindness and great help. That's why what happened this time shocked me so badly. When they took my Frenchie to the back, they were polite to me but I could hear everything happening in the hallway by the doctor's room. I heard someone say, in a loud and aggressive voice, 'You f-inf b****, shut up before I put you in your f-ing cage.' Hearing that directed at my dog made my blood boil, but I forced myself to stay calm because at that moment her life was literally in their hands. We commute 45 minutes to this clinic, and they were our only option that night. I was terrified that if I reacted, they might handle her even more roughly. My girl ended up needing to be hospitalized overnight. I actually contemplated taking her home because of what I heard, but I was stuck. if I took her home and she got worse, that was on me... but if I left her, I was scared they'd treat her harshly again. When I picked her up the next morning, she was anxious, scared, and couldn't relax at all. At first I assumed it was just the stress of being there. But the next day I noticed her tail looked injured, almost sprained or bent and she started reacting in ways she never has in her life. When I gently reached to pet her little head, she suddenly flinched and cried. She has never been hi t or disciplined physically by me, so this reaction was completely new and extremely concerning. Based on everything I saw and heard, the voices raising, the way they talked to animals in the back, and even loud bangs coming from the hallway. I left believing my dog was not treated gently or kindly. She was snapping at them because her stomach hurt, and I worry that may have caused someone to handle her roughly. I trusted this vet with my baby for years, and this experience genuinely broke that trust. I'm now just trying to fix my baby's heart and comfort her after what she went through. Won't be going back again, I might give Monte Vista a try after seeing the references through these reviews. This review doesn't do justice to my anger. read more

Everything. My dog Hambone was getting picky about food and eventually stopped eating, altogether. Of course, it was the night before a three day holiday and I tried to hold out until Monday but when he stopped eating, I had no choice. I took him to Taylor Emergency Vet, 1 hour from home. They were amazing. When I told them he had a bad experience with supposedly Parvo at another emergency clinic and is highly sensitive and frightened of vet clinics, they broke protocol and administered Anesthesia in the exam room, leaving me with a call button to let them know when he went down. He did so I hit the button. They realised they had nothing to carry my 120 lb beast into the back for x-rays so I retrieved his blanket, we lifted his "wet noodle" body on the blanket and the techs lifted him out of the room. When they were done with him they brought him back on a gurney and gave him something to wake up with. I sang softly to him and coaxed him out of his deep sleep. He never knew he left me. It was beautiful. The veterinarian spoke with me about his results; no blockage, something still digesting, no punctures or ulcers visible. She said she'd rather not do exploratory surgery until we see how he does on medications and he could see his regular vet or I could bring him back there. The vet, the techs, the ladies at the desk were ALL SO NICE and empathetic to my sweet Bonesie. My pets and I've never been treated so kindly (except by my old equine vet, Dr. Tim Toews) and I just wish the clinic wadn't an hour away. I highly recommend them. Clients should always keep in mind that emergency clinics are dealing with just that ... Emergencies. Sometimes more urgent than can be anticipated and not all client experiences will be the same based on time restraints. Thank God for emergency clinics, never the less. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. If you go here, you basically need to pull out $1,100. And set it on fire. The Vet here, Dr. yusuph, is the most Volatile, rude and nasty doctor. I brought my cat in, 7:30pm, my cat had been throwing up bile for a few days and needed to be seen. They did x-rays, blood work but refused to give her fluids before; she was severely dehydrated. She was extremely dehydrated and they dismissed it. They had my poor cat sitting in the back basically suffering. I had my sister helping me with her bill, I had her on the phone and she kindly asked, "hey! Do you think you can give her an anti inflammatory inj for her throat?" This rude ass doctor said, " why do I have to take medical advice from you? I'm the vet. Not you." " I'm not taking any medical advice from you." My sister then went on to explain how it's helped her dog in similar situations and this Dr had the audacity to say," well that's great for your dog, I don't have to listen to anything you have to say, I'm the vet, not you." She then sends in a new Dr. to take over, I made a comment about the conversation.. then the rude Dr comes in, rips off her face mask and goes, I didnt appreciate that conversation, she thinks she knows everything and she doesn't!!!! Basically scolded me as if I was her child. Mind you, I also had my son with me, who has Down syndrome; that sick cat is his emotional support animal. And she thought it was okay to cause a scene??. ALL WHILE- she still hasn't told me what the hell is wrong with my cat. By 1 am she tells me they just did fluids on her, and she has acid reflux. We go home and she declines, I take her to Monte vista and within 1 hour she was seen, and we had a new diagnosis. I call the next day for my cats medical records and when I read through them, they deliberately lied!! they don't know how to listen. My cat hadn't been able to eat in 3-4 days, therefore she can't POOP. They lied and said she had diarrhea and gave her meds for that. Which wasn't even a symptom!!!! They also gave me meds for a DOG, when I have a CAT. The best part about this place is the receptionist with the purple hair. She was so kind, sweet, understanding, patient. That nasty vet should take notes on bed side manner. This place is trash!! Esp with that Dr!! read more

Unfortunately when a dr fails to properly examine the dog , after a full explanation of the situation, then to have another dr do what should have been done 20 days earlier with the same symptoms! My niece took her fur baby into Taylor Vet this evening and waited hours before the veterinarian came into speak with her. My niece takes pride in her fur babies and would go without for them. The vet named farris,dvm came in and told her to her face if she was taking care of her dog she would not be in the situation that she is in. What nerve!!! This vet did not know my niece to speak to her in that way. Then proceeded to tell her she did not have time to treat her dog because, she is an emergency vet. My sweet 4 1/2 year old cat was not feeling warm and fuzzy. She had been lethargic and frequently urinating. I couldn't wait 3 days for my normal vet to open so I googled 24 hour vets near me. I have been to Taylor one time previously about 5 years ago. I called in Saturday night at 11:30 PM and got great customer service on how the walk in process and prices were for visit. I was comfortable that my cat would be okay through the night so I packed up the following morning and got to Taylor just before 9AM on a Sunday. You have the option of staying in your vehicle and calling, they have numbered parking stalls and will come out to you if you choose to stay in the car. Upon check-in, I was quoted a 4-6 hour wait time. Within the 1st 45 minutes a vet tech came out for initial information. at the 1 hour 15 minute mark, we were taken back to an exam room. My cat was taken back and I think it was another hour of me sitting, the vet Dr Pegg came in to adivse me of what we were looking at. Shortly after a vet tech came back with an estimate which I agreed to. I went back out to the lobby while they were treating my cat and maybe another hour later I was called back to review Dr. Pegg's findings, the urinalysis and suggestion for treatment. I was happy with his feedback and back out to the lobby I went. A few hours into my visit I was overhearing wait times quoted as 6-8 hours. Obivously you are waiting longer if more urgent cases walk in the door. Took a little longer after I was checked out and paid for my cat to come out. I was at the office from 9 AM till 2 PM. My cat took antibiotcs for the week and is back to herself, fluufy and happy. Thankful for the service I received at Taylor Vet. I believe I was reasonably charged for the services and prescriptions I received. All of the staff I entountered were pleasant and professional. Dr. Pegg was patient and let me talk, knowing they were extremely busy I appreicate the service. I will say this, come prepared. Once you are checked in, you cannot leave the facility. You can hang out outside, but if you leave, you lose your place in line. Bring food, drinks, a book, tablet, charging cord, etc... There is a vending machine with snacks and drinks. Also a tea/coffee station that is complimentary and a water machine. Not sure how often the vending machine gets refilled, it was sparce when I was there, but if it was an emergency, I wouldn't have starved. We went through a difficult experience in Dec., 2025 when our cat ate a thick string after 9:00 p.m. We found this 24/7 animal hospital online. The facility looks like a beautiful cabin in Idaho. The waiting room is huge, warm, and welcoming. The veterinarian on call, Dr. Flores, kindly and expertly listed the options and costs. After trying some other things that did not work, our cat needed to have surgery. Everyone was so helpful in walking us through the whole process from the emergency surgery to pick up the next evening. Dr. Ferris was the veterinarian who carefully monitored our cat through the first day post op. Our kitty did well. We will definitely return to this veterinary hospital if we have other after hour emergencies. Everyone, from the secretary who answered our first SOS call, to the veterinary assistants, and the veterinarians were all friendly, compassionate and competent. The total cost was $ 2600 which was reasonable for all the care given. read more

From my first contact by phone, to my arrival at the clinic with my very ill dog, through care and consultation, and ultimately, euthanasia, I found the vet and reception and technical staff to be kind, thoughtful, gracious as well as skilled and professional. They showed respect and sympathy for my worry and sadness over my beloved pup's suffering and allowed us the time, patience and dignity to proceed with euthanasia. Dr. Sullivan DVM and the reception person who coordinated care on the phone and at the clinic and all the technicians could not have been more kind - and professional - at such a difficult time. The facility is warm and welcoming and provided an atmosphere that assisted both my pup and myself face final care and parting. A couple of weekends ago was the first time I had been here. I brought my dog in as I thought she may have a fox tail. There actually were a few other dogs there for the same thing. I'm so sad to see that this place has a low rating. 2 days ago, I took my families dog into a vet nearby my house here in Stockton around 10a. He advised to go to a vet with anesthesia + overnight stays available. I called my regular vet and was able to be seen at 4p. They gave me 3 options + if I routed with surgery, it would have been $3900 minimum +. I went with option 2, where they cleaned her neck up + wounds, gave her antibiotics, ran diagnostics/tests + blood work. My total was $1427 there and I told them if surgery is recommended after, let me know. So, my regular vet did but couldn't do it because it was closing time. She put in a transfer referral to Taylor Veterinary Emergency Clinic and said she highly recommends this place and it's one of the more affordable places for the surgery. So 830p, I rush to this clinic to get her seen. All the other emergency clinics I had called earlier in the day were 6-8 hour waits to be seen and people commented they were expensive and a google search had me worried about the type of surgery she needed. I wasn't sure I could afford it so I increased my CareCredit limit + got added to another as an authorized user to ensure I had funds. I get here, the front desk lady was quick to give me the forms to fill out. I sat down and within 30 minutes, the tech came to ask a few questions and grab my baby. About 10 mins later, I was brought to a private room where the tech informed me that the tests/work my regular vet did was nice to have but shouldn't have been a priority given the situation + that they definitely were on the higher end for pricing anyways, the vet MARISA BROOKS came in shortly after. She was kind, patient and informative. She listened to my concerns and did not scold me for the incident. She said the surgery would be done in the early hours of the night/morning and I would be able to pick her up between 8-10a next morning. Waiting for the tech to come back in with options/pricing, I began to worry. Once she came in, a HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF came out. When I seen the prices, I actually couldn't believe it and had to double take at it. I also scolded MYSELF. I should have came here first. I was given 2 safe options aside from walking away/saying no. The first option was about $274 and the second option (full surgery) was $700'ish but came out to only $687 at the end. Also, the front desks ladies checking me out made conversation and were so friendly. I went with the second option obviously because I wanted everything to be taken care of but I thought I would be paying $2500 minimum plus. This place was extremely affordable and made it possible for my baby to get the work she needed done plus her medication for the next two weeks. Dr Brooks called me at 7am, during the window she said she would and said everything went well. When I went to pick her up, it was a short wait because a few patients were getting discharged prior, the tech provided verbal and written instructions as well as carried my baby out to the car and set her inside her cage for me. I'm so thankful I was referred here and now know of this place. I've already recommended them to plenty others. The 45 minute drive was worth it for me. Thank you all! read more

I cannot recommend Taylor veterinary because they are not honest about their availability to treat your pets. They advertise that they are open 24/7. I had a cat with a neck laceration that I was concerned about. I live in Mariposa and the closest vet that are open on the weekend are in Turlock or Fresno. I drove one and a half hours to get to the Turlock location, only to find the gate closed. When I called them, they said no one was available to take care of pets and I could come back the next day. They should not advertise that they are open 24./7 if they do not have back up to maintain this availability! Upon reading another entry on this blog, I see another person complaining about the same issue. I will never make a drive to their office again. It's off to Fresno for me where they have substantial positions to handle emergencies! read more

What a joke this place is for euthanasia after 5 PM over $290. Are you kidding? What are your vets needles made of 24 karat gold or what and do I get to keep them definitely not a place I would recommend or a place that is there for you or your animals, you should be ashamed of yourself and no one should've gave any of doctors a license to practice any sort of medicine I probably wouldn't let them work on a gold fish!!! Absolute worst service ever - came in - was told there was a 2 hour wait - waited for 2 and a half hours. No one checked in with us after the initial conversation - mind you we were here for a small paw cut - nothing that should have taken longer than 15 minutes. They told us we could bring our dog and when we showed up they said they were really busy and weren't taking anymore animals.

Friday afternoon my dog got some sort of sting or bite in his jaw which caused it to swell grossly. I figured that's what it was, but I wanted to have it looked at just because. All the local veterinarians were full and so I had to take him to the emergency vet. I got there probably around 415. There were a couple people ahead of me. I didn't get out of there until 730. Meanwhile, I had to sit in the waiting room While their office girls sat and laughed and had flowers delivered and coffees delivered while they talked smack about other patients... in front of the patients that were in the waiting room. They never bothered to volunteer how long the wait would be. And when I finally asked after I've been there for more than 2 1/2 hours waiting I was told that there was a surgery going on. Apparently, they only had one veterinarian nonstop, but an over abundance ofoffice personnel who could not bother giving patience information. I was told that if my dogs condition worsened that I should let one of them know so when his swelling got larger and he began drooling we alerted the girls which they promptly ignored. I finally got to see the veterinarian at about 720. The staff took my dog from me instead of allowing me to go back with him. The entire exam took less than five minutes. I was called back where the vet veterinarian spent less than two minutes, telling me that it was most likely an insect bite. He told me that I should give him Benadryl and he would prescribe a steroid type drug. But at this point, he did not need antibiotics. Went back to the staff girls in the front. The young lady brought out the medication and told me that it was antibiotics. I told her the doctor said that my dog did not need antibiotics that he needed steroids. That's when she told me it was a combination of antibiotics and steroids. I told her again that doctor said that he did not need antibiotics. And that's when she changed her mind and told me it was steroids. It was very unprofessional. And having to sit there for that amount of time while these young ladies laughed and had a great time and talk. Smack about other clients was very annoying. I feel like they could have told me when I came in the door that there would be a long wait, but they didn't bother. When the weight ended up being over an hour, or two hours, or three hours, they didn't bother. Tell me what was going on until I asked, and then I was told I would have to wait until the next veterinarian came on duty before I was seen. Perhaps they could have less office staff and more veterinarians. The whole thing cost me just under $200 and it was for some steroids that may or may not be steroids. read more

Took my dog in at 1am when she was in excruciating pain. I called the number at the closed gate was told on the phone that they don't have a doctor available to see my dog tonight. I thought that was what 24/7 service was? All 24 hours of the day? They need to change the sign to "sometimes" available. Home now with a very stiff bodied and crying in pain dog. read more

Unfortunately we came to have our 13 and half year old lab put down. Putting down any pet is hard and they made it easier for us during that hard time. This is the second pet we had to put down and both tomes we used Taylor vet because of the campasion, empathy and respect they showed us and our pet. We took our dog for what I suspected was a paralysis. The wait was not very long for circumstances beyond control of either of us, so I wont hold that up against them. Whatever was the diagnosis and the medication they billed us up for, it's not working and as of now my large dog lies like a paper weight in the living room and he's so huge we can't take him out to pee or poop and he is suffering. I have called the Doctors office no less than five times today and "the Doctor will call you in ten minutes" has been the persistent response. I would like to add that today I received a sympathy card from Taylor Vet for the loss of my pet. Which means they either read the email I sent or my yelp review. They chose to send a cookie cutter sympathy card for being the responsible party that killed my dog, instead of responding to my email. read more

I will never leave my dog with anyone ever again! Left our fur baby with Taylor vet for 6 days and picked her up today at 5:30PM. Took us 25 minutes to get home and my fur baby slowly got up from the back seat of the car. She immediately went to the front grass and pooped and she never poops in the front of the house. Her poop came out like onion soup with no substance at all. I am assumed that it was from missing is for the 6 days so I didn't want to panic. Instead of running through the house and checking around for any new scents in the house she immediately went to bed. I figured she was tired from her stay away from home and needed a quick nap. She got up around 15 minutes later and gave us the doggie language she gives for I need a potty break. She usually gallops down the stairs as if she's racing you too the laundry room door and sits and waits. This time she slowly walks downstairs and looking back at me so o know there is something wrong with her!!!! I let her out the back door and before she made it over to her artificial grass area made just for her she immediately releases poop before completely on her area location. I literally see items in her poop that I know she shouldn't have since we left instruction on her only eating the food that was provided and only bottle water that we also provided as well. Looking closer there were dead bugs in her poop that were still whole as if someone had fed her some types of bugs are she got a hold of something that she should not have been around while in care! She immediately was ready to go back into the house as she never does if the sun is out. Once I opened the door She ran back up stairs and directly into her bed again. Im now worried because this has happened before with a different day care and our pup almost died from not being taken care of and here we are again! I'll finish this review as soon as I get a call from Christa Carlos the Practice manager at Taylor Vet that makes her own hours and the Ariel doesn't know what time she'll be in on Monday October 3, 2022. As of this very moment Monday October 3, 2022 not a person has called to resolve the matter of my fur baby with bugs in her poop. I'm assuming that Christa Carlos the Practice manager at Taylor Vet just didn't come into the office this morning and Ariel who informed me that if I brought my fur baby back to the vet there would be a charge of $200 for the emergency visit on top of medication but Taylor has had our fur baby for almost a week and she sure as hell wasn't sick when we took her in!! read more

They should not be aloud to call themselves an emergency vet office. It's 11 at night and our elderly dog is very sick. Now, we have to drive all the way from Denair to Modesto at basically midnight because they have no veterinarian?! This is our first and definitely last time coming here. read more
