Don't see Dr. Helen Sergerie at Sagewood Dental for a serious problem, she can't do anything. At…read moreleast that's what she told me! About 6 mos ago,I came in for a cleaning and check up, which was fine. A week later I developed severe pain in a back molar that already had a root canal. Dr. Helen Sergerie diagnosed an infection and prescribed an antibiotic and told me the only tx was to pull the tooth. I asked her multiple times, isn't there any way to save the tooth? No, she said , it must be pulled and sent me to an oral surgeon. I was told the surgery involved IVs, implants, tooth replacements and 6 mos before I would be finished. I went home to consider and took the antibiotics for 4 days and when I was still having pain, I called Dr. Helen Sergerie to ask if another antibiotic would be more effective. She said, Sorry, there's nothing more I can do. Wow, never got that from a Dr before! I finished taking the antibiotics and every day used alot of Listerine and the infection with its pain went away. I wasn't sure about all that other tx so waited to see how the tooth did. 6 mos later, no problems but I needed another teeth cleaning so stupid me, went back to Sagewood. Yup. Got another infection with that same tooth. Well I couldn't believe that my tooth couldn't be saved so I went to my previous dentist at Sterling Ridge Dental. One look and Dr Cope said, absolutely, that tooth can be saved! He sent me to Advanced Clinical Endodontics, (ACE) and sure enough they performed a re-root canal and prescribed strong antibiotics and finally cleared up the infection and fixed the problem with the tooth. One day! Not 6 mos! Stay away from the revenue focused, Dr. Helen Sergerie.

I do not dispute the skill of the dentists I have used, and I have been absolutely more than happy…read morewith both Dr. Solomon and Dr. Sergerie as dentist. They are both very meticulous in everything they do. However, their billing department is less than ethical. Do not ever take their word for what you may owe after insurance is applied, even if they say that they ran it before your visit and are sure that the amount you are paying will cover the bill. Before my child's appointment, I had them run not one, but two, insurance coverages, so that on the appointment day I would have a true balance. The office personnel who handled this for me told me I was probably over-paying a bit for these services, but I went ahead and paid them close to $2,000 (after all, they told me that they had run both insurances, and this would be close to the amount that would be owed). Six months later, I get a bill for almost $350. At first, I thought this was just a mistake or some lag in either insurance payment or accounting. I know this can happen. For months a notice simply showed up through text message- no call, no explanation for the payment request, nothing to explain what had happened after such a long lag. Of course, I would not have normally expected a personalized call over invoicing but given the lengths I went to (since it was such an expensive visit) in order to ensure it was budgeted for, this bothered me. Finally, I picked up the phone and called them. They said they would look into it and call me back. No return call. The month passed and so I believed it had been resolved through insurance- a mistake, but, again, a text message for an unpaid invoice arrived. I immediately called the office to find out what had happened. The office person put me on hold and then returned to tell me that one of the insurances did not pay and I owed the invoiced amount. This being in direct contradiction to what the girl had told me when she originally reached out to both insurances to verify payment before services were even rendered. Sagewood Dental did not lose my business because of skill, but because of unethical business practices. I will not use any company that lies to me in order to perform services and then comes back six months later, plus, to collect more money- especially when the customer service and explanation have been handled so unprofessionally.

UPDATE: As of 5/25, I am still experiencing significant sensitivity and pain…read more I paid over $50,000 for full mouth veneer treatment with this office. Within about three years, one restoration failed and required emergency care. I no longer live in Texas, so I saw another provider locally. That provider was recommended by this office and uses the same lab. During that visit, I was shown a clear image of an unsealed margin on the tooth adjacent to the failed restoration. This area is now causing significant sensitivity and requires treatment. Despite this, I was told by Dr. Young that addressing it would be a personal choice and not necessary. I was also told that issues like this could be related to whether I was keeping up with cleanings. I have consistently attended my dental cleanings before and after the restoration. I have been trying to get help since April 11, when the crown failed. I was finally told on 4/30 that a night guard would be remade and sent. I provided my address and never received a response or update. My records state that a night guard was delivered to me after treatment completion. I never received a night guard. What I was given were retainers, which I believed were night guards all along. I raised concerns shortly after placement in 2023, including asymmetry and bite issues, and provided photos at the time. I relied on the guidance that things were addressed. I am now dealing with a failed restoration, another tooth requiring treatment, and no protective night guard despite documentation stating otherwise.

I have absolutely no complaints--her professionalism and the quality of care are consistently excellent. I was surprised to see a negative review, as it does not reflect my experience at all. For a more accurate picture of her outstanding care, I encourage readers to visit Zocdoc and review her nearly 5.0 rating with over 400 reviews. Dr. Washington is very popular and in high demand, so scheduling an appointment may take some time, but the care she provides is well worth the wait. I highly recommend her!

Cloud 9…read moreDental- Dr. Washington on Rayford Sawdust is one where professional improvements are needed in communication, finances, scheduling, and building rapports with patients. Some of the reviews I have read with the last 6 months are similar to my concerns. The old cliche/idiom that states all good things must come to an end often times is true. I originally wrote two outstanding reviews on Dr. Erica Washington within my years of being a patient. I was so impressed with her professionalism, the cleanliness of the establishment, and most of all, the customer service of her team. I was inclined to prepare the review because it was too good to be true. However, within the last month (April 2025), Cloud 9 Dental under the leadership of Dr. Erica Washington's has not been impressive. The professionalism, lack of communication and returning calls has been below subpar. I received a treatment plan in February 2025 and wanted to get some additional dental work done. I called to get clarity on what she suggested should be done first on my treatment plan, my insurance and the plan of payment that benefitted me via interest-free. Heather gave feedback on what she thought and gave me an appointment, proceeded to run my credit card without answering all of my questions. One of my reasons for calling was to inquire about a previous credit that had not been applied. After several times calling and asking, her reply has always been, "I will ask Doc". After I mentioned that I was only inquiring, she stated she didn't mean to run the card and she could not refund the payment. Then is when the attitude and unprofessionalism began. I was informing her that in the past, a payment was not required two weeks before my appointment. Heather proceeded to inform me this was the way it is. Likewise, this practice was why the other lady was "no longer working there". This was an absurd comment as I never inquired about the previous administrative assistant. Nonetheless, after this comment, I asked Heather to have Dr. Washington to call me so that we could discuss the matter moving forward with a plan, etc. As of April 22, 2025, I have yet to receive that returned phone call. Today, I decided I'd call once more after 7 total attempts including going to the office on Thursday, April 17, 2025 along with a follow-up call while I was there. On April 22, 2025, I spoke with Heather and she informed me Dr. Washington "doesn't speak with her patients on the phone". I am certain this is untrue and was taken aback as Dr. Washington has called me multiple times to discuss the treatment plan, scheduling/rescheduling appointments, etc. The final statement that Heather informed me was the confirmation I needed to move forward. She stated "Well, I can't make her call you back". In this day in time, it is imperative that establishments that I spend my money (as a paying customer), treat me with the respect and dignity that I provide. This includes having the common decency and courtesy to return phone calls. I patronize businesses to my liking for many reasons. However, I will not be returning to Dr. Erica Washington-Cloud 9 Dental on Rayford Sawdust. A great working relationship and rapport of all of my medical staff has always been a staple for me. Reconsider Cloud 9 Dental for your dental needs/services. My family and friends in which I have referred will be moving as well to a dentist and staff that cares. I wish no ill will on Cloud 9 Dental and wish Dr. Washington the very best but, there are improvements that were once there, that are not anymore. Again, this was my experience which was never about the money but, a level of care.
