As soon as you enter the place is tuned into Tulum. You can see the amount of work that went Into the decorations to make it feel like Tulum, Mexico. Bright colors and tropical decorations throughout the restaurant. I only went for appetizers but the others I was with all said the salad, and the birria tacos tasted great. The also said the drinks were strong. When you are seated they immediately bring you chips and salsa. I ordered the street corn and it came with a red sauce- it was delicious. The only downside was the customer service was not attentive. We were the Only ones in the restaurant so It was not busy at all. Looking for a great happy hour restaurant, this is the best option because of the availability on the hours , just don't go on Wednesday because the are closed on Wednesday, which is very random day . Aesthetically pleasing at first glance didn't expect this restaurant in this location. We sat at the bar to order drinks and food. And to be honest i have mixed feelings. The drinks were good and they had a really good selection. The food was ok some dishes made me want me and some i would never have again. We tired the Jalapeños and for me that was a no there was too much cheese but it could be the type of cheese but it didn't work. Also had the stuffed plantain and that was a no as well. Once again too much cheese. And it was not stuffed it was layered si not what I expected. Enter and you have another IG worthy location at the small desk to check in with hostess. We put in out drink and food orders and the drinks quickly came. The food took forever. We completed the chicks before a complete new person came to check on us and we told them we were still waiting on tacos. Those tacos popped up +/-10 minutes. They were great though. I try again with a bigger crowd. This time we get a server that smiles a lot but was just bad. We repeated what we wanted multiple times but were delivered another tables food and then later individually given wrong items but at least it was out table. Minor changes that he said would be followed - weren't. Like asking that no cheese be on items. And another asking for no onion and instead got extra onions. Plenty of times it's been just so so. I just ate at Tulum Prime in Coral Springs, and from the moment you walk in, it really feels like you've stepped into Tulum (sorta haha) but right here in Coral Springs! Tulum Prime has great appeal. My 1st impression when I walked in was "oh this is a cute spot!" The food was ok. They start you with chips & salsa. Felt the salsa bowl was a bit small (there were 3 of us at the table, so we went through the salsa pretty quickly). We ordered the Stuffed Plantain Cups (chicken) as an appetizer. Sounded mind blowing but did not have the wow factor we were expecting as far as taste (Presentation was on point though). For my entree, I had the Tacos of the Seas (grilled shrimp). They were mini tacos so perfect proportion. I was really looking forward to the mango pico de gallo that was described in the menu, but I really didn't pick up on the mango flavor, so that was a little disappointing. Cocktail: I had the Tulum Cafe, which is their version of an espresso martini. It was pretty good, as it had some cacao chips in it, so gave it a hint of chocolate taste. I mostly recommend this place. The problem is during the off-season, which apparently just started when I went there, they're only open a few days a week and with different hours than listed on Google. They were unable to make me the first two drinks that I requested as they did not have the proper ingredients, but we're super apologetic and offered substitutions. I would like to try some more of their food and drinks as what I got was tasty, but it just seems like a hit and miss until it gets back into snowbird season, but then of course I really don't want to go out and compete with the masses of old people and northerners. Even though the restaurant was out of Sangria, Anna, the bartender saved the day by fixing me a standard margarita, but with strawberry juice. So it gave it the sweet taste. I had the bowl which was delicious. In regard to dessert, I wanted fried ice cream, but they did not have it. So I ordered something else. I wanted coffee, but they did not have it. Night and day. Outside is part of a strip mall but inside is quite impressive. Grass walls, neon signs, paintings in tribute to tullum Mexico and more. They have a live dj and apparently this restaurant turns into a night club or lounge overnight. It's close toala movie theater so you could definitely plan a decent night out. The only negative is the quesadilla were only 2 and didnt have much taste as well as the avocado toast guacamole wasn't very good-i think they were running out because one of the toast didn't have any. Although the steak and eggs were great. The food is an after thought it seems. Also drinks are 15-20, so the price is about the same as a meal. So. I really had high hopes for this restaurant. I'm a local and when I saw they painted a beautiful mural along the place it called my name. I came in on Saturday April 8th; they opened at 1:00 pm and I arrived at 1:24 and was seated immediately. As soon as we sat down our waitress informed my guest and I "there were no menu items available only appetizers and drinks and the kitchen would be open around 2:00 or 2:30". This threw me off because they opened at 1:00 pm. So we decided to stick around and have a few appetizers and drinks. We decided to order the stuffed plantain cups with shredded chicken only to hear they had no shredded chicken or birra tacos. Therefore, more and more disappointed. 10 minutes went buy and she told me they could do the plantain cups with the chicken; and we also ordered an order of the Tulum wings with the mango habanero. I didn't have an issue with our waitress she was attentive and frequently filled up are drinks and salsa. Salsa and chips were complimentary but nothing special. 45 minutes went buy and are food arrived. Presentation was beautiful they know how to present there food well. I'll start off with the plantain cups with shredded chicken. The whole thing was pretty dry, the cups were definitely not home made they had to have been store bought. The habanera wings appetizer was really good for the most part. It came with 10 wings about 3 of them were completely overcooked and tough though (not edible) But, the overall flavor AMAZING! The sauce was IT! They give you a huge thing of crema/sour cream in the middle not sure why but I think they should put whatever sauce your wings are some extra in the middle instead of crema. We basically wanted to drown are wings in the sauce so we just asked for a side of the sauce. Little did we know we would be charged $4.00 for a LITTLE cup of sauce without telling us it was additional charge. Drinks: My guest ordered sangria she enjoyed it. I ordered a Caipirihna tulum style drink. The menu stated: "Leblon sugarcane rum, muddle with fresh limes, and your choice of fresh fruits (strawberry, blackberry, mango, cucumber, jalapeño) Your choice of brown sugar or agave (for cucumbers or jalapeño) served with a popsicle. $15. As seen in the picture in my review. "Your choice" to me sounds like it's included but it's not. When I received my bill they charged me an additional $2.00 because I had mango in my drink but I was not told verbally and it was not stated on the menu. Bomber! We wanted to celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Tulum Prime. It was nicely decorated on the inside. The music was pumping- it was very loud inside. There was a long line to get in, inside was very packed! I had no reservations and tried to get one online earlier and I was unable. We loved the outside decor with a carabela mariachi mural on the side of the building. It's inside a large shopping center so the parking is ample and was not a problem. They continued the decor inside with more murals. As soon as we sat we noticed at least 4-5 staff by the bar area eating. We found this odd. They should do this at the kitchen or employee area. We waited to be greeted. We noticed the music was very loud and it was urban music like Reggaeton and not what you would expect at a Mexican restaurant. Not necessarily Mariachi or Banda but maybe pop. It felt like a club. I thought there was a DJ there. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks. I ordered a regular Margarita ($13) but wanted Casa Noble Blanco Tequila (up charge $2). The server did not inform us of this. We were brought a basket of complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were warm but the salsa tasted like regular store bought salsa and not the good kind. Once our friend arrived, she ordered a drink and we all ordered food. I ordered the carne asada street tacos ($15.99) They were good. Nothing special. All the food was just ok. There are so many servers just walking around and not enough people to serve so they ended up just hanging around. Our server Alexa was nice and friendly. She came by a few times but there were times where she left the bar and we didn't know where she went. I would say more customer service and up-selling techniques can be implemented here. There is an opportunity for growth. Managers can be checking on customers, getting feedback. It felt like a soft opening but the restaurant has been opened a month now. Don't think I'll be back. First thing I saw when I opened yelped was this place and was glad to see it was finally open. I feel most new Mexican spots in the area are not great so I didn't have high expectations. All fresh and the shredded beef was nicely seasoned and juicy. 4/5 Chimichanga - Flour tortilla filled with your choice of meat. Served with spanish rice, refried beans, sour cream, guacamole, lettuce and tomatoes. Drizzled with queso dip. I choose steak. It looked kind of small when I received it but when I cut into it I was pleasantly surprised to see it was loaded with steak. This was packed with flavor and very filling. It was smothered with a sauce that I really liked but I can't tell what it was, maybe mole? Awesome overall. 5/5 ($21.99) I also tried some of their shrimp fajitas which were very flavorful. Their cucumber margarita was also refreshing. Their tres leches dessert was enormous and tasted great. This is a great new addition in Coral Springs and based off of my visit, they're definitely better than the majority of the spots around. You enter Tulum through a forest of greenery. The theme follows through the entire restaurant. There are murals on the walls depicting traditional Mexican and Aztec figures. The DJ was playing a variety of salsa and Spanish music that had the house tizzy of activity. The hostess and bartender was very nice. The coconut mojitos and hose margaritas was excellent but my margaritas got a little too much salt on the rim that went into the drink. It was good anyway. We had the fajitas and we added steak.
