Came in on a Staurday around 5pm with my 2 friends. The place was very empty, surprisingly. I thought pll would be there watching the World cup. I didnt mind the emptiness though. We were seated right away inside. Outside was way too hot for me in this Florida weather. Fabio was our waiter, very friendly. They had $6 classic margs or 2 for 1 flavored margs for $14. I went with the flavored. Passionfruit and Mango, which I enjoyed. The drinks didnt have to come out at the same time, which i appreciated. We ordered the corn ribs as an app and it was soooooo good, like delicious. Lol! Although its a Mexican spot, I went for the double jalapeño smashburger and fries. I love me a Smashburger. I enjoyed the fries and even dipped them in the sauce that came on the corn ribs. Bomb! The jalapeño creme on the burger was wayyy to salty. I think it was just too much creme. So I opened it to wipe off some of the creme only to find there was a long strand of hair in it. Smh. Disgusting. Fabio did remove it from my bill. Overall the place was ok. Upon entry i thought they needed to work on the cleanliness of the restaurant. The table and seat were dirty when we first walked in so the hostess wiped off the table and knocked the crumbs from the seat cushion onto the floor. The menus were torn and dirty. Overall, the food at this place is good. I've always had good experiences here with staff, food quality, and drink quality. My biggest gripe with them as of late is with their All-You-Can-Eat Taco Tuesday special and its new format. I've been here a few times for Taco Tuesday, and have enjoyed it each time. The tacos have been delicious, and the service had been quick so the tacos were flowing (even though I personally can only do two rounds of tacos before I'm stuffed). This time, my fiance and I excitedly came to AYCE Taco Tuesday excited, because it had been a few months since we were last there. Huge disappointment. They changed the format. It used to be what you could expect anywhere that does a table service AYCE--you place your order, the server brings out the food, and you enjoy. Rinse and repeat until you've had enough. Not anymore at Bandoleros. We were SHOCKED to be presented with what basically looked like a cafeteria lunch. It was a big tray with all of the taco ingredients laid out in little condiment cups, with the tortillas on the side. We have to assemble the tacos ourselves now! They also turn the place into a "clubstaurant" after 8pm, so don't come here if you're just looking to eat tacos and chat with your loved ones. There's a DJ that comes in and absolutely BLASTED the music. All of us strangers in the section we were in looked at each other in disbelief of how loud the music was. I think our reaction was the only reason why they turned it down. I'm no party pooper by any means--I actually liked the music being played but I was there to eat tacos, watch the World Cup, and chit chat! We asked our server why the AYCE format changed, and we were told that the kitchen had been getting "overwhelmed with people requesting substitutions and modifications" on the AYCE tacos (which are super simple to begin with), so they decided the best way to remedy that was not to tell people "no substitutions", but instead to simply give us all of the pieces and say "do it yourself". What a WILD way to address that issue. It's one thing to order a dish (like fajitas) where it's understood that you'll be doing some "assembling" of your food, but to have customers assemble their own tacos is unbelievable. The food item I ordered in particular was the "All you can eat" tacos for 20 dollars. It's all you can eat for a reason. It was very mid food, not authentic whatsoever. Genuinely Taco Bell has better tacos compared to what I had. On top of that it looks like they are allergic to air conditioning because there was none that night. If you sit too close to the music you won't even be able to hear your own thoughts. I will say that besides the food and no ac, the vibe was pretty nice, there was lights and music and the waitress was good. Overall I'd rate this establishment a 3 out of 5. My friends stated that this used to be another taco place that went out and converted to it's modern set up. Tacos are served 3 per order and are relatively on the small side but the quality was above average. We had the guac trio and were very happy with the queso, the guac and the salsa. They have nightly specials/drink specials. Service was adequate and can be a touch disconnected. They do not have metal silverware so please keep it in mind, plastic only, also you will note that the napkins are cocktail types and you may need to go through a few during a regular meal. Plenty of parking. Even indoors it felt a touch warm. They have outside seating as well as inside. Food came out incredibly fast. read more

Visited Bandoleros Tacos & Tequila in Oakland Park on Saturday while watching the France vs. England World Cup third-place match. I expected the place to be packed, but it was surprisingly easy to get a table. The restaurant has a really cute atmosphere, and our waiter, Fabio, was outstanding, friendly, attentive, and made our experience even better. I ordered the Oklahoma Onion Smash Burger. The interior structure remained the same although the intimate black lighting and the hanging multi-colored floral arrangements throughout presents a fresh hip decor. It was a very quiet Thursday afternoon and came here for the first time to try the $5.00 Birria Taco Special with choice of short rib or chicken. The server Anna, had a playful personality and was not bashful alerting us that it was her first day on the job. Noticeable at times, although the owner and manager were providing assistance when needed. The tequila shots were also on special for $5.00, which the wife took full advantage of and ordered a few. These were not top shelf but tasted fine in soda water with a lime wedge. I had a cold draft Yuengling beer to consume before the taco feast begins. Ordered four short rib tacos and two chicken tacos which were presented on a black slate plate with a side of hot sauce which leaned more toward a thick chipotle sauce. I drenched each taco with the sauce and was not expecting the texture of the oily shell. It was more flaky than hard but oddly stayed together without crumbling with each bite. Fresh ingredients can really make a difference and it was wonderfully exemplified in these street tacos. As I'm eating I noticed a banner hanging on the patio advertising $19.99 All You Can Eat Tacos on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. This special taco offering brought tears of joy to my eyes. The bathroom was clean with industrial style rough cement and blended mini tile flooring. The walls were dark blue with a multi-colored mural of three men sporting hipster douche mustaches. Not sure how this blends into the Bandoleros theme but it was definitely unique decor and provided a playful vibe. Went to Bandoleros Mexican Restaurant with friends for Friday's happy hour (5-7pm). The staff was definitely friendly and attentive, which I appreciated, but overall the food and drinks didn't really impress. I ordered two margaritas - watermelon and passion fruit - since they're BOGO during happy hour. Unfortunately, both tasted sweet with barely any hint of alcohol. It felt more like drinking syrup than a cocktail. For food, we started with the chips and salsa ($7). The chips were nice and crispy, but I wasn't a fan of the salsa, it had a strange sweetness to it that threw me off. I recently went back to Bandoleros for their Taco Tuesday all-you-can-eat deal, and unfortunately it was a huge disappointment compared to how it used to be. About a year ago, they offered a great variety of options like shrimp, steak, fish, mushrooms, and more, which made the experience exciting and worth coming back for. Now, the AYCE special only includes beef, chicken, and dry carnitas, which felt like a major downgrade in both quality and variety. What made it even worse is that you now have to build your own tacos, which took away part of the experience that originally made this place stand out to me. It honestly feels like management changed because the overall quality and value just aren't the same anymore. I used to really enjoy coming here, but after this experience, I don't see myself returning again anytime soon. read more

Went to Bandoleros with my friend for some much-needed girl time, and we had such a great experience! As soon as we arrived, we saw a sign for $3 margaritas--yes, please! Everything was amazing and it was nice that it was an outdoor/indoor seating. Got there pretty early, so it wasn't busy, everything came out very fast and fresh! The corn rib appetizer really did steal the show for me, I was so close to ordering more. Fair customer service should be top priority at all times. Unfortunately this experience was not that and chances of me going back are probably slim. I should mention that this restaurant is located where Tatts and Tacos used to be. Same setup but the decor was more festive. We were super excited to try out this place after all the wonderful reviews on social media. We decided to try during their Cinco De Mayo event. We thankfully rsvped through their website so the wait was expected. We got there and it was so unorganized checking in and it was unclear who was next or what was happening. I noticed people looking out for tables and asking to be seated so I did the same. The table was wiped down quickly and waiting game began. The drinks came quickly but everything after that was a nightmare. Grace was given because it's always important to give Grace especially with it being a holiday celebration. Once the crowd died down I expected service to pick up but that wasn't the case. After two hours of waiting for the food and our server being MIA I flagged down the boss and asked to close out our tab so that we can leave. The drinks were okay. I had the mango margarita and the strawberry margarita. I wanted tajin on the rim and was told they weren't doing that. When I pointed out another table had it on their rims, they gave in. My husband got the classic margaritas which he said was okay but he questioned whether the first drink was even a classic margarita. The only thing we got to try was the chips and traditional salsa and it was good. My kids definitely enjoyed the fresh chips and I did too. What truly made me say that I wouldn't be returning was witness a "VIP" table get better customer service. Their food came out quickly and their sever was constantly checking in on them. As a paying customer myself this was very off putting. We unfortunately weren't the only tables to leave after two hours of no food. Came here with friends for some late night munchies. We were in the Oakland park area and most breweries close by 11 or 12 midnight. We found that Bandoleros was open so we went. When we arrived, it was super loud because there was a boxing match on the TV. They also had some music playing in the background. We sat outside but they do have indoor seating as well. Blown away by the service and the atmosphere. We have to address the amazing server Nikola, he's truly one of a kind. His warm, contagious smile and welcoming energy set the tone for an amazing evening. Honestly, I'll be returning to the restaurant just because of the way he made us feel- as if we were long time friends! At first. We were unsure when we pulled up, thinking the gps steered us the wrong way. But what a hidden gem! Beautifully decorated inside and out. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, it was a nice Saturdays evening, so we chose to sit out. Nikola greeted us right away, made some great drinks and food recommendations, we took his advice on the food, but then asked to try the $3 margs they offer every Saturday till 8pm. They were a hit! The pork belly bites and elote corn ribs were delicious. Pork was tender, and very flavorful, and the corn was easy to manage, as they are split into quarters, they were absolutely delicious! The marg seemed to have gotten stronger, and stronger each round, and we had quite a few! The atmosphere is lively, with fresh air all around. The music was good, what I liked is that it wasn't overly loud, it was a good volume where you can still have a conversation at your table and hear the other person. There's lots of tv all around the restaurant showing different sporting events, there's something for everyone here. Great place for groups, or even just a fun casual date night, or even girls night! It was quiet considering the time and day, but it looks like this location is new, so it's only a matter of time until word gets out and then it'll be packed. Our server (I'm sorry, I didn't get his name) was cheerful and had great recommendations. He helped with us narrowing down which signature cocktails fit certain people's preferences, and since it was St. Patrick's Day weekend, immediately told us the specialty drink offerings, which two in our party took advantage of. For signature cocktails, I had the Dulce Sueno and then the Aqua Bendita. Both were really good, just enough sweetness without being overly sweet. I would probably order a shot of Remy to add as a floater on top of the Dulce Sueno. The Aqua Bendita was so refreshing - give me a round of that poolside. The birthday girl had the La Bruja first, which was excellent. Her follow-up cocktail was the La Patrona, and that was her favorite of the two, but she thoroughly enjoyed both! Food, we ordered appetizers: pork belly bites (crispy and an addictive chipotle agave sauce), chicken croquetas (piping hot and so good with the cilantro garlic sauce), queso fries (tastes like Miami Subs to almost all of us lol, but I'm a good way!), and chicken taquitos (soft but crispy!). Entrees, we all had bowls: buffalo chicken, carnitas, steak, and short rib. The birthday girl asked for cilantro crema to go with her steak bowl and immediately raved about the crema. Nice guy. I told him that Tatts & Tacos used to have an awesome Sunday with hip hop music and a large crowd. He informed me that they will be having karaoke soon. Ok. To the food: I ordered two appetizers. Pork belly bites and jalapeño poppers. Dang! The bites were quite a plate full. Crispy yet tender. The poppers were the stars. Beer battered and made in house. I would have preferred cream cheese instead of cheddar in them but they were on point. Took the pork bellies home and the roommate devoured them. Here's the thing: I arrived on a Saturday at 1 pm. This place should've been packed but sadly there was nobody there. The owner and the staff were so accommodating. Like they were very grateful that they had a customer. The appetizers I had were delish. The menu is extensive. I want to try their chicken tostadas and the jalapeño burrito next time. But they aren't going to succeed if no one knows about them. The menu itself has so many different options that I never saw at other Mexican restaurants. I did have the buffalo shrimp quesadilla and it was very nicely cooked. The buffalo sauce was not overpowering it was cheesy and the shrimp was cooked well. The queso had a peanut butter flavor which not sure if that's an ingredient but that's what I tasted. The guacamole was not a fan favorite it did not have any seasoning I had to add salt and lime. Came in for their all you can eat taco special on a Taco Tuesday around 8 pm with a group of 4 adults and 3, 3 year olds. The place was buzzing with the DJ spinning tunes and lots of conversations. The outside patio was about 1/2 full and the same for inside. They sat us inside after asking if we had a reservation, we did not. We tried to request outside since we had the toddlers but they couldn't accommodate outside. So once seated inside it took a bit before the hostess, who also ended up being our server came and took our drink orders. We had come in specifically for the specials, so I was adamant about ordering the classic margarita because it was $6 lol she kept trying to push the flavored margaritas which were 2 for 1, making them at least $7 a piece. The birria tacos came within 10 min, I waited at least 20 min for my gringo beef tacos. Those beef tacos were seasoned to PERFECTION! Sooooo good! The romaine lettuce was a great touch too. Before they came out the other person ordered an order of beef tacos, not the all you can eat. It was as explained that the all you can eat takes longer because everyone orders that. Keep in mind, the tacos available on all you can eat are BEEF, chicken, CARNITAS, and veggie. My first order came out with two full sized tacos which was enjoyable. When the second order which was chicken tacos came out, they were street tacos sized but fine because the flavor also was finger licking! But we ended up waiting OVER AN HOUR for the other order of beef tacos. When asked why, the server said this was because we had changed it to all you can eat and that bumped it to the bottom of the list. The problem is it had already been half an hour when we asked what the hold up was and asked to switch the tacos plate to the all you can eat. Our server was clearly overwhelmed with the business. We then asked for the manager. Nino came over and was EXTREMELY pleasant and apologetic. Honestly turned the entire dinner around with his positive attitude. He expressed the challenge with keeping up with the busy nature of the evening and even brought me to the kitchen to see how backed up they were. He kept apologizing and rushed our beef tacos out. Before we asked for the manager we had asked our server for the bill despite having two more orders of tacos pending. At this point it was getting late and the kids needed to get to bed. She never brought our check and that's what prompted us to get the manager. After the conversation with the manager, we waited and she never brought the ticket. So we again went to Nino for follow up and our check. He was willing to rush our last orders but we ended up deciding against it. When the server was finally sent over with the check, Nino continued to profusely apologize and offered to comp the food. We didn't ask for this but his offer was appreciated. He did an excellent job at service recovery and was very honest about the situation. His calm demeanor and patience went a long way. He had no idea that he was serving another restaurant manager and impressed him. Nino is a gem that should be praised for his excellent handling of customers! Give that guy a raise!! Now the margs...my classic marg was supposed to be $6 a piece and on the check they were ringing up at $6.50. When addressed with the server she told me, "They're buy one get one free." I said no mam, we discussed this on the front end and that's why I got the SPECIAL! She reluctantly removed the extra $1 for the 2 margs. But they did sneak in a 20% service charge for a large party, that's charged once you have over 6 guests in your party. Our party of 7 had 3, 3 year olds in it...seemed scammy but we obliged. All in all, the flavor of the food won me over! I will be back because it was delicious. Maybe not on Taco Tuesday because they're overwhelmed but I'll go back. read more

Decided to give a new place a shot. In the old tats n tacos biulding . All new and some of the most amazing food and service around. Everything was so fresh and Stefan behind the bar makes a mean margarita. We have been here twice now and the food is so good. We got some short rib tacos, Elote corn ribs, and ham croquets this time. Sorry no short rib pics they were gone before we realized it. Do yourself a favor and give them a try! I was hungry and waiting for an event to start, so I decided to try this fairly new spot. We sat on the patio, and it was perfect! The music wasn't too loud, and the service was excellent. We started with the chicken nachos as an appetizer. They were a bit on the salty side but still really tasty. If you're a margarita fan, I highly recommend the watermelon one--it's so refreshing! I ordered the trio of tacos, and while they were also a little salty, it might just have been my taste buds that night. I'll definitely be back to try more items from the menu! read more

Well let start off by saying that Billy and I walked in thinking that it was still called Tatts and Tacos we didn't even notice until I asked for a Tatts and Tacos menu item when the server (Mario... who was very polite and knowledgeable), stated that Bandoleros has been opened for about 20 days...no more Tatts and Tacos). Obviously we stayed and wanted to give it a try (we were hungry)!! lol Billy ordered the Trios Soft Tacos (the menu stated that they do offer Hard shell) I ordered the Three Gringo Beef Soft Tacos and we both ate the large sized portion of Chips (which were a little over cooked which was fine with us) and Salsa. All of the items were delicous. BTW they don't carry Tatts and Tacos famous Mexican Street Corn. (Mario did say that they have something similar (we did not try it). read more

My wife saw that Bandoleros bought out Tatts & Tacos, and decided to check it out!!! BEST DINNER DECISION my wife has ever made! The food was great! We started with Elote Corn Ribs and Chicken croquettes. Croquettes were good, filled with chicken, and not fillers. The Elote Ribs were pure fire!!! Amazing! Entrees: I had the Birra short rib tacos which were absolutely amazing! Top 3 Birria Tacos I've ever had!!! My wife had the Trio of Tacos and said they were absolutely excellent!
