Pineapple Mango Steak with Waffle Fries and Fried Corn
LJ W.

I remember hearing Tumbleweed commercials as a child, but I never tried them. We were in Heath doing some shopping and worked up an appetite, since Tumbleweed was right outside of the mall I figured we'd give them a shot. The first red flag should have been how plain and flavorless the tortilla chips were, absolutely no flavor or taste, it was comparable to eating the napkins on the table. I was immediately intrigued by the Pineapple Mango steak, the description had me salivating. The pics of the waffles fries also looked pretty good and I was sold on the idea of fried corn. I was a bit skeptical because of the price tag, $16.99 for all of this food. But I decided to be adventurous and order it. Our food came out rather quickly, and it didn't look too bad. Shortly after digging in, I realized that my food was cold. The toast very buttery and tasty, and even though the corn wasn't hot, it wasn't bad at all. As far as the steak it was just depressing, to say the least. I didn't taste any hint of mango and as far as the pineapple they just slapped some pineapples under the steak. The bacon butter was tasteless and the steak was uncuttable and just plain nasty! The waffles fries were the worst waffle fries I have ever had. I could literally make better fries in the air fryer. My wife ordered a medium sirloin and it was served to her raw. She also complained about her food being cold and tasteless. We both didn't even bother to complain, we were tired and ready to go home. My wife took her steak home and attempted to doctor it up and cook it further. I asked her how that turned out and she said it didn't even taste like meat. I also took a bite of my son's burger and it was mediocre at best. Our server was just okay, she forgot my wife's salad but kept our drinks refilled. Unfortunately, this will be my first and LAST time ever dining at Tumbleweed. Pineapple Mango Steak 1-5=0. Toast 1-5=4. Corn 1-5=3. Waffle Fries 1-5=-5. Service 1-5=2.

Glass that was in my salad

My husband and I ordered a chicken taco salad each. It was delivered to our home by doordash, tightly sealed. After a few bites of my salad, I crunched on something hard. It was quite a shock to my jaw. I spit it out and saw it was a peice of glass. I thought maybe it was just one peice so I had another bite. This bite was very gritty with several peices of glass. Needless to say we both stopped eating. We threw our salads away. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager. He said he needed to call the corporate office. We only wanted our $31.00 back. I couldn't believe he doesn't have the authority to refund $31. The next day he call to tell me that they have zero responsibility in this and to take it up with doordash. I was appalled. Our food arrived completely sealed with Tumbleweeds tape across the containers and bag stapled. We absolutely will never go back. I hope you will think twice before going as well.

$7 cheese fries. Disappointed.

The "filet" is at best a chopped steak, not worth the price. Salad was 50 percent core lettuce, service was okish

Worst service ever and this is from a former food server. The three of us each ordered two ala carte beef tacos. The bill was over $50. See attached. Gabi assured us we could order ala carte as we told her we did not want a full meal and wouldn't be able to eat the rice and beans. But $7 per taco? Seriously? That is outrageous and certainly not what would constitute Ala carte prices. Two drinks at $4.99 each? Gabi, the waitress, was inattentive and did not bring extra napkins or check back to see how we liked the food. She also did not ask if we wanted chips and salsa. We would have paid for them. When we asked for a dish of salsa for each of us, she brought one and asked if we could share. Um, no. When we said we each wanted our own, she grudgingly brought a second dish. She did not bother to clear plates when two of us clearly finished before our companion. After we paid the bill, she walked over and asked if we were finished with our plates. Well, they were neatly stacked in the center of the table with silverware and napkins on top so it would appear so. She stood there until I slid the plates toward her so she didn't have to bend to pick them up. So lazy and appeared to be intent upon exerting the least amount of energy necessary. Service was minimal, surly, and inefficient. Next time, I will go to Chipotle. It was a Tuesday evening at 7 pm and there were like three other tables in the entire place with three waitress working. Would not recommend this place at all!

Our server, who I think was the manager, seated us quickly and was super friendly and attentive throughout the meal. There is a long bar in one room where a couple locals were dining while watching a game. They also have a back room for larger parties and an outdoor patio. We ordered the beef enchilada, chile relleno combo, and also the chimichanga dinner. Both were very well prepared, and the sauces were definitely not store bought. We asked the manager and he did say that they make their sauces in house. I love that, especially since they were really good and had a deeper spice flavor than other places.

It was a Thursday night at dinnertime, but we were seated right away. They had a decent-sized crowd, but it wasn't packed. We had a server visit our table quickly and he was very friendly and light-hearted. He was good with the kids and we always appreciate that! It was a bit after 6pm, but I was able to get a Happy Hour margarita ordered, which felt like a good deal! $7.99 for a traditional margarita. (I'm not sure what time their Happy Hour ends) There wasn't much salt on the rim, but I actually didn't notice until I nearly finished it and realized it wasn't there. But it tasted great! I believe it was an authentic margarita, not the sour mix. My kids love Mexican rice and beans (respectively, neither likes both), so they only each ordered their side and feasted on chips and queso (the queso was a bit pricey for a large, but it lasted our entire meal). The queso was great and the chips were good too. Salsa was decent. I ordered the spinach enchiladas and my wife ordered the vegetarian chimichanga. We both enjoyed our meals and agreed we ordered those same meals again in the future. Service was fast and friendly and we had a nice relaxing meal. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the indoors is even nicer than it looks from the outside, although they have a nice outdoor patio with some cool decor out there as well. We'll come back!

#47/2023 Well times does change…read moreSpecially in this post covid world and lots of other things Almost 4 years ago I reviewed this. Moe's corporate office has made some decisions that many people aren't too happy about myself included. The main thing is what they eliminated. I came in and got a bowl with cilantro rice on the bottom black beans and adobo chicken. I had lettuce put on top and cheese. I wonder what I had for the longest time because I'm not a fan of onions I wanted some sliced tomatoes like they always had and some cucumbers. Well come to find out not only did I get a little snippy attitude from the young girl working, also come to find out most does not have sliced tomatoes anymore. have a diced tomato mix. Which has onions tomatoes and some other stuff in it I was absolutely not interested in. No longer have cucumbers And what made a lot of people mad to go with their steaks they have no longer have there but used to be great grilled mushrooms to go with the steak burritos plates and more. This particular visit they were out of my favorite sauce the very mild El guapo But this used be one of my favorite Moe's it is still 24 hours in the pilot it does not close I like all the other ones pilots included. All in all I have to drop a star the food was okay the chicken could have been a little better and experienced though just was not very good. Hopefully Moes will come back to how it was. It's now just simply okay. But I won't be frequenting as much the chicken with the black beans was good with the cilantro rice and lettuce but it really needs regular tomatoes to me. And yes there are some pictures from a few years ago where there are regular tomatoes LOL

You can tell that they were short hand and the girl working was new. But she did great! The place is disgusting. There is dusting and gunk hanging over the food. Well at one point he is sitting in the trashcan, had his hands in his pants the entire time. Make a comment about waiting for an interview... I'm sorry but no one want to be looking at a guy with his hands in his pants. Avoid it and wait he more exit as there is a chipotle with descent food! I should have took photos!
