I remember hearing Tumbleweed commercials as a child, but I never tried them. We were in Heath doing some shopping and worked up an appetite, since Tumbleweed was right outside of the mall I figured we'd give them a shot. The first red flag should have been how plain and flavorless the tortilla chips were, absolutely no flavor or taste, it was comparable to eating the napkins on the table. I was immediately intrigued by the Pineapple Mango steak, the description had me salivating. The pics of the waffles fries also looked pretty good and I was sold on the idea of fried corn. I was a bit skeptical because of the price tag, $16.99 for all of this food. But I decided to be adventurous and order it. Our food came out rather quickly, and it didn't look too bad. Shortly after digging in, I realized that my food was cold. The toast very buttery and tasty, and even though the corn wasn't hot, it wasn't bad at all. As far as the steak it was just depressing, to say the least. I didn't taste any hint of mango and as far as the pineapple they just slapped some pineapples under the steak. The bacon butter was tasteless and the steak was uncuttable and just plain nasty! The waffles fries were the worst waffle fries I have ever had. I could literally make better fries in the air fryer. My wife ordered a medium sirloin and it was served to her raw. She also complained about her food being cold and tasteless. We both didn't even bother to complain, we were tired and ready to go home. My wife took her steak home and attempted to doctor it up and cook it further. I asked her how that turned out and she said it didn't even taste like meat. Cooked soft with a decent balance between cumin and cilantro flavors. The burrito was decent too. I commented that it reminded me of an upscale Taco Bell flavor. Same flavor profile as TB, but higher quality ingredients. I ordered the Strawberry Margarita. It was mostly sugar syrup with a little alcohol. The restaurant was clean, even though they had been busy all day according to two different servers. The restrooms had been maintained. Our server was friendly and good with the drinks. All in all, a solid meal for what we paid. I ordered the margarita out of nostalgia my college days and the old $.99 margarita Monday. I would pass on it if offered the choice again. My husband and I ordered a chicken taco salad each. It was delivered to our home by doordash, tightly sealed. After a few bites of my salad, I crunched on something hard. Well, let me tell you. The ol' Tumbleweed sure has been a tumblin', partner. I've been going to this Tumbleweed occasionally for over 20 years, which is about 17 years longer than any employees or managers working there now. I've watched the service and food quality go downhill significantly. The chips and salsa really took a huge tumble around 15 years ago, but they're usually edible. They taste cheaper. They used to have amazing food. Now a few menu items are good, but most are just tolerable. The good things are worth the relatively high price, but the other menu items are not. Service and friendliness of the staff and even the management has really suffered, and this was noticeable even before 2020 and COVID. I used to look forward to interacting with them, but now I usually end up going somewhere else instead of exercising my tolerance. I suspect things have tumbled at the regional or corporate level. There's at least one error in the order each visit. Pray that you're eating there so that it can be fixed. Sometimes I don't bother, as I've grown weary of the tiresome service. If you're eating carryout, you'll have to re-saddle your horse. It's a looong ride back into town. Hope you didn't leave a big tip when you paid online before you knew what the service was going to be like. Been there, done that. *cringe* In summary, some things are worth the effort. So my ex's family always loved going to Tumbleweed for dinner and margaritas many years ago, and at the time I didn't care much for their food. That being said we recently visited the Heath, Ohio Tumbleweed and had really good food. More importantly our server was incredible! He literally anticipated every need whether it be for a refill, steak sauce, or extra spoons before we ever had to ask. It made our experience so enjoyable that my entire opinion of Tumbleweed has changed. I don't know if there is some kind of award for server of the year or something comparable but our vote is for Tino at the Tumbleweed in Heath, Ohio if so. He was absolutely amazing! My 8 year old daughter demanded we give him 5 stars, and I have to agree. read more

First time in 5-6 years having a bad experience at this location. If it wasn't for the way we were treated I wouldn't even be writing this review because I usually let stuff slide. As you can see from the picture the food was not even done after waiting almost 40 minutes. We did not complain about the wait while we were there. I know they are short staffed and doing the best they can. I tried to inform our waitress about the food and she just said "ahh yeah" and walked away. The manager walked by and I was trying to tell her that uncooked food was not acceptable and also had a question about the menu and she also walked away with out a single care. I have never had employees at this location be so rude before. I am always respectful and courteous of those who work in customer service as I do myself. My family and I always clean up the table to make it easier for the staff and in return we get unfriendly behavior. I know you guys don't care when a customer says "We won't be back" but unfortunately that is what we decided after tonight. We aren't those people who try to get free food. I'm writing this review based on the service and the fact that it's Tex-Mex. I came here a few weeks ago with someone who had never been here....so I was hoping they'd impress him as they'd been kind've "hit and miss" in the past with me. Our waitress was new (can't remember her name) but was very sweet. When she brought out the chips and salsa, she had tiny little saucers of salsa....that wasn't gonna cut it. We asked for more salsa and she brought them out in half-bowls.....YAY!! The food was incredible. If you are considering ordering delivery from here, don't. Let's start with the ten dollar avocado; it was supposed to be guacamole, but I what I received was a styrofoam box containing a ninety-nine cent avocado that had been cut in half and had the pit removed (thank you for the help Tumbleweed), and several small plastic containers that held a tablespoon of jalapeno, a half tablespoon of cilantro, a tablespoon of onion, a tablespoon of pico degallo, three or four slices of a miniature lime, and an eighth of a teaspoon of what I'm guessing was guacamole seasoning ... on the top of the box someone had written the words table side. I know that they prepare the guacamole "table side" at the restaurant, but we weren't AT the restaurant, we were at HOME ... Apparently the door dash delivery person didn't get the message that they had more than just a normal delivery to do. Seriously Tumbleweed? Let's move on to the twelve dollar Taco Salad ... I don't mind paying a reasonable price for something (and I know that the price for things through door dash and grub hub are inflated), but every Taco Salad that I have ever ordered has had re-fried beans in it (usually on or near the bottom of the tortilla bowl), a reasonable amount of protein (either chicken or beef), guacamole (or at the very least slices or chunks of avocado) on it, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, salsa, and more often than not, some sort of dressing (usually ranch). I received a shell containing some lettuce, a half dozen slices of jalapeno, a tablespoon or so of shredded cheese, and a half dozen tiny cubes of what I am guessing was chicken ... The only thing about it that allowed me to identify it as my Taco Salad was the tortilla bowl ... In no way, shape, or form, should what I received, be passed off as a Taco Salad. My husband had the pork chops; according to him they were 'okay', as were his baked beans, and he said the cheesecake he had for desert was 'fine', but for sixty plus dollars (in all fairness, that did include a tip for the driver), I was less than pleased with this place. We order delivery quite frequently and thought this might be a nice change from our normal places ... I won't be making that mistake again. read more
