Called and spoke to Jay, who assured me he would get the order processed before closing (which was 30 minutes away.) He worked with me to get expedited shipping. Great service for a $20 item! This is the type of service I wish every company delivered. Oh, and did I mention when I called a real, helpful person (Jay) answered the phone?

I spoke with a salesman named Curtis and carefully confirmed that two specific items -- one for me and one for my husband -- were in stock. I explained that this was a long drive involving two freeways and that we did not want to waste the trip. About twenty minutes later, I called again and spoke with the owner/manager because we would have been driving during rush hour traffic that evening. He assured me it was "no problem" to hold the items until the following day and confirmed that Curtis had already set them aside for us. The next day, after making the long drive, Curtis brought out the wrong item entirely. When I reminded him that I had specifically described exactly what we wanted, he tried to steer me toward a completely different product instead. Then he admitted to his boss that the item I wanted had already been sold. This was inconsiderate, unprofessional, and a complete waste of our time, effort, and gasoline. If a store agrees to hold merchandise for customers -- especially customers making a significant trip -- they should honor that commitment. Very aggravating experience. Honestly, we would have been better off ordering from Amazon.

She described the different features of the suitcase without seeming to push the sale. While we were at the store, several people came in with damaged luggage they had bought elsewhere. The store staff treated everyone courteously and suggested options for repair, even though they had not sold the item originally.

Rather than return to Costco, I went to the manufacturer's website, entered the serial number and model # and other information. The manufacturer confirmed it's under warranty and gave me a printed PDF with RMA for repairs by Savinar's. I called them in the morning and they said "Yes bring it in!". They were out of the way for me, so it took 30 min to get there. Upon entering, before I could even make it halfway to the back where the desk was, the employee said "Oh no, we don't repair those, the warranty is only 2 years!" Instantaneously, 2 other employees popped out to say the same thing -- claiming that the manufacturer is "lying" and shooed me out of the store as quickly as possible. It's clear they do NOT want to do lower-paying warranty repairs on non-high-end items, instead opting to work on the fancy stuff for cash. They're a nice store with very high end luggage and bags. However, the treatment I received was what I expected a thief to receive, not a potential future customer who likely would have purchased nice luggage from them in the future, not to mention someone with a valid manufacturer's RMA slip! The store manager claims that NO bags created by any Samsonite company (including this one - High Sierra which is owned by Samsonite) has a lifetime warranty but the screenshot of this almost identical bag (this year's model) from THIS company actually clearly says "LIFETIME" warranty. Moreover even if it didn't have a lifetime warranty, why didn't the store kindly offer to repair it and have me pay for it rather than rudely kicking me out of the store and ignoring me? I still needed a repair for this bag. Again, I suspect they don't get paid much for these repairs and don't want that business. But if that's the case why remain an authorized repair shop? I would choose anywhere but this store.
