Brought a Briggs bag in because it kept falling over and I picked it up today. They could not have been more rude. I told them it's still tipping over and they said just sign here so you can get your bag back. When I came back to asking about it tipping they said if I wanted the bag back I had to sign. That's it. No acknowledgment that the work was not completed the way it was supposed to be to fix the issue and definitely no respect for the customer. I do not recommend. read more

My husband and I popped into H. Savinar Luggage in Culver City to get his rolling suiter bag fixed. I got it for him for Father's Day 2025, so it's only been a year, and the suiter, purchased from a very well-known luggage company, had already given up the ghost! The thing is, even though it was only used a couple of times, the whole assembly that held the wheels together just fell apart. Once we gave Joey at H. Savinar all the details about our purchase, we left, knowing we needed to get a replacement. A few weeks later, we came home from a family get-together in NorCal to find a huge box with a brand-new rolling suiter inside. To say we were surprised and even shocked doesn't even begin to describe how we felt to see this new piece of luggage. Joey had stepped in for us and managed to get us a result we didn't expect and couldn't believe. The customer service he gave us was amazing, and we weren't even customers of the store at the time. I am not sure that I have been treated as rudely as I was today by the staff at Savinar's. Here's what happened: Years ago I had purchased a nice backpack from Costco, which has lifetime return policy. The beg began to tear in several places. Rather than return to Costco, I went to the manufacturer's website, entered the serial number and model # and other information. The manufacturer confirmed it's under warranty and gave me a printed PDF with RMA for repairs by Savinar's. I called them in the morning and they said "Yes bring it in!". They were out of the way for me, so it took 30 min to get there. Upon entering, before I could even make it halfway to the back where the desk was, the employee said "Oh no, we don't repair those, the warranty is only 2 years!" Instantaneously, 2 other employees popped out to say the same thing -- claiming that the manufacturer is "lying" and shooed me out of the store as quickly as possible. It's clear they do NOT want to do lower-paying warranty repairs on non-high-end items, instead opting to work on the fancy stuff for cash. They're a nice store with very high end luggage and bags. However, the treatment I received was what I expected a thief to receive, not a potential future customer who likely would have purchased nice luggage from them in the future, not to mention someone with a valid manufacturer's RMA slip! The store manager claims that NO bags created by any Samsonite company (including this one - High Sierra which is owned by Samsonite) has a lifetime warranty but the screenshot of this almost identical bag (this year's model) from THIS company actually clearly says "LIFETIME" warranty. Moreover even if it didn't have a lifetime warranty, why didn't the store kindly offer to repair it and have me pay for it rather than rudely kicking me out of the store and ignoring me? I still needed a repair for this bag. Again, I suspect they don't get paid much for these repairs and don't want that business. But if that's the case why remain an authorized repair shop? I would choose anywhere but this store. read more

One of our Briggs & Riley roller suitcases had a dodgy wheel that was somewhat difficult to maneuver through airports and frequent travel. Prices are comparable to the best deal online or at a sale in a retail store but without the time sensitive element. I brought two Victorinox carry ons, which had the wheels damaged, and I inquired as to if they were still covered by the guarantee. At Savinar, they gave me the most byzantine answer. So a few of the wheels ended covered by the guarantee of Victorinox. They still charged me US$100 and only replaced a few of them. Even though I live in the SGV, this is one of the closest Briggs & Riley authorized repair centers from me. H Savinar repaired my ~16-year-old 22" carry-on so that it's like brand new. They had the repair done on the day they promised. FYI, buy Briggs & Riley luggage. I stopped in the store today to look for a backpack for leisure and business travel. The older woman who helped me was an absolute doll. She was AMAZING! However, there were at least three other men in the store who did not speak or even look my way as though I was insignificant. They were not friendly and as I was being helped, they did not take any opportunity to say hello. I try to support local businesses, however today I was not well received. Unfortunately, a male customer walked into the store to shop, and he was immediately greeted by those same men with a "welcome in, how can we help you." They did not even look my way. I started to just walk out, but the woman was so nice, I decided to stay. I'm giving two stars for the overall experience and their rude behavior. I would have given only one star, but the woman was so helpful, so they get two today. I have no plans of going back, except to return my purchase. I brought in a Samsonite bag that got a bit banged up such that the handle wouldn't extend properly. They looked at it directly, and were willing to try and get the parts to repair but explained that Samsonite doesn't usually provide parts, which isn't Savinar's fault but really on Samsonite. Savinar was going to try - but the magic was they were going to put in for a warranty replacement. Within a day they got it approved and within 10 days, a replacement was on its way! Amazing service. We brought our luggage here to have one of the wheels replaced. We paid and waited for a few weeks. We called and followed up. We got a call on Saturday saying it's ready to be picked up. Come Monday, we pick it up and we inspected the part that we wanted replaced. We questioned if the wheel that they replaced was used. The sales associate reviews the wheel and said, "It does look used." She calls the repair man and verified that it is indeed a used wheel and told us "we charged you because we sent it out to Canoga Park." We paid $50 for this wheel. LOL. Uhm no, we refuse to pay $50 for this used wheel. We sent it back and they replaced it with my busted wheel and refunded our $ back. Bottomline is, as a customer, I don't care where you send out our luggage for repair. We come to you to check out whether you could repair our luggage or not. And if you can't, you could have given an update that you will not be able to fix the luggage or given us the option whether we even want to have it replace with a used wheel as to not waste our time or yours. read more

This review pertains to their approach to being a Samsonite authorized repair center. Short version: Savinar were either incorrect or purposefully misleading on what would be covered in repair/warranty. More detail: I brought my luggage in for evaluation for RMA/Repair. My wheels were damaged and needed review. I shared this on the phone and they confirmed I could bring it in for evaluation. When I brought it in, the sales associate reviewed and immediately said that wheels were not covered in Samsonite Warranty. This shifted the conversation to cost to repair and value of repair vs buying new. He shared some new products in store that would be great replacements. I walked away contemplating a new purchase. While out in Century City - I stopped in the Samsonite company store. They said that wheels are covered and I should bring the bag in to them to get it taken care of. I brought it in, paid $15 to have it shipped to a repair center and got the bag (fixed) back in about a week. The fact that Savinar either purposely mislead me or is ill-informed on Samsonite warranty (they are an authorized repair center) is very concerning. read more
