My stylist (Star) was fantastic. She's very personable, down to earth and fun to talk to. Great haircut, beard trim and shampoo.

I had the membership but cannot get a good haircut there. Finally I found my guy Nate which he can cut hair and he is never available. Or I scheduled and they change my days to a different day. Which is very annoying!!! So this march I prepaid my membership and have not been able to schedule a cut because of that and I asked for a refund and was denied. They really need to get more hairstylist that can actually cut hair. And better customer service. That way I can just schedule with anyone and not get a bad haircut. Over all, you're better off cutting your hair at the usual $30 to $60 at a real barbershop and know you are really getting a quality haircut. read more

Britt was amazing with my son. He's autistic so hair cuts can be hit or miss with him. (Mostly miss) and Britt did so well working with him. By the end he was calm and the haircut turned out better than I expected. The music playing was a plus, my son danced his way back to the chair before his haircut started. They asked me if I wanted a drink and I ordered a vodka soda, then I was informed they didn't have any soda. I requested a specific stylist and they told me he couldn't complete the type of haircut I wanted so they assigned me to someone else. I showed the stylist the haircut I wanted, it came out looking like nothing what the picture was. She gave me a GENERIC haircut and was not able to complete the type of haircut I wanted. Ive been going to this location now for about 5 months. I have the $85 VIP package which I use 3 times a week as I hate shaving my face and head at home. I use there best two Barbers Erin and Marquez. They make sure my beard stays perfectly shaped as all the women I meet now at bar, says they love the way I stay looking great!!! Let me go ahead and speak for anyone that may be reading this, and say that that this place is the greatest place that you can come to be pampered! I'm on the Elite VIP Membership($169) And it's worth every single penny! My main barber to go to would be Michelle! She takes the time to make sure that you're comfortable and make an enjoyable experience for you. I've been going to Tune-Up for months now and it's hands-down the best haircut in town. Matt does an exceptional job, is very friendly, and always focused on the details. This was my first time going. I was Intrigued by them having an actual straight razor shave. When you get a good one of these it can be a real pleasure. Unfortunately this was not the case. They butchered my face. The lady doing the shave kept hacking away at my fave saying the razor was not good. I ended up telling her to stop and left with a partial shave and a bloody chin. They didn't charge me for the shave which was nice but my face is a mess, and I have a hecukva razor burn on the parts that were shaved. They need to up their hame if they want to play in the full service barber shop world. This isn't "cutting it ". read more

They started out nice and the barber is great. But when I signed up for VIP I was told I get priority over walk in and that I could go to either of their owned locations. (Silber and 34). Well I found out that wasn't true. I was told that I get priority appt over walk in. That isn't true either. Tried to talked to the manager about it called and left her messages but never heard back. Told I wanted to cancel my VIP, they don't cared. Now I liked my barber there and she did a great job and she took cared of me. Just poor communication and poor management. I tried to give them the opportunity to do right but NEVER heard back from anyone. Oh pricing from one location and another varies, don't understand that. I was paying one price for a straight razor here and a different price at a different location. Guess that is why they don't post how much it cost. read more

This place is great. It was my first experience at Tune Up. I came in for an overdue beard trim. The staff was friendly. The trim was fine. The atmosphere is casual and somewhat elegant yet I couldn't help but feel it lacked content. Regardless, it does not take away from the core experience of the friendly staff, their interactions with others, the quality of the cut and the fairness of the prices. I will come again. read more

I love this place. I always come here for Matt. Ever since the first time, I came in and just showed him a picture he has cut my hair perfectly. Every time he always double-checks with me that he has the right cut and then I can sit back and relax. He knows exactly what to do. I don't even have to pay attention or check him. It is always great. I have been coming to this location for over a year now and will continue to. They are all super nice. The shop is super clean and they are taking COVID measures very seriously. Their beer selection is great and always free. Every once in a while you will see the owners in there as well. All the other stylists and the bartenders are very nice! read more

Got a great Haircut here. Apologies for forgetting her name, but she did an amazing job and she took her time. This place is laid back so wait times are long. TIP: call ahead and reserve your place before going. There's a full bar if that interest you. Haircuts are priced well too. Not on the cheap side but also not expensive in my opinion. Haircut + 5$ tip came out to $30 and that included and wash. Great deal in my opinion! I have mid length hair so it's hard to find someone who really knows how to cut it correctly. Lots of barbers out there who can trim a beard and fade super well but not "cut hair". If your looking for a great spot to call home for hair maintenance go give them a try! read more

The atmosphere - was very calm and relaxing with a comfortable waiting area and a bar for you to get drinks. First thing getting there, the sign up process to get in queue was seamless and easy. There are two drinks served for every appointment (had a draft beer and a diet coke). Waiting wasn't long either, especially being preoccupied with the beverages too. The hair stylist - Immediately meeting Mesha, the stylist, she had a glow and smile that is contagious. You cannot help but be in a good mood the moment you meet her. She was easy to talk to and did a great job on my hair. Usually a stylist takes two visits to get it right, but she immediately got it. I just discovered this place recently. Love coming here, getting 2 beers included is a great perk. Always a good haircut. The best part the staff are always really friendly especially Chloe the bartender. She takes the time with each guest and remembers you the next visit. Great mixed drinks and recommendations. I've seen her greeting each guest and making them feel welcome, regardless if you are a regular or when it's your first time in. I'll definitely return again because of her service. My regular barber at a different barbershop moved on and her former coworkers would not share where she is currently cutting hair. After hearing good things I decided to give Tune Up a try. The barbershop has a very masculine vibe. There were three barbers working on Saturday afternoon. My wait time was short. A young lady mixed me a Bourbon and Coke using the brand of Bourbon I prefer (Maker's Mark). The price of services were reasonable. The guy who cut my hair usually works at another location. He did give me some good advice about my hair, gave me a decent haircut and shampooed my hair after cutting it. I prefer my hair being shampooed after a haircut before leaving a barbershop. A bit of humor: water went all down my back and over my shirt because as the barber explained the sink and counter don't quite match with the chair in terms of height. I want to start this review by saying prior to coming here I had been going to the same hair stylist for 10+ years. After moving to the area a little over a year ago I checked out a couple of spots in the area including the Tune up closer to Kirkwood and none of them really did it for me. So I would continue to make the hour drive to my old hair stylist week after week, until I came here. Ashlee blew me away my very first visit. She was super professional and, most importantly, she knew how to cut hair. Really really well. Once I got to know Kiana, Star, and Fred as well I knew I had to sign up for the VIP membership. The staff combined from start to finish always provides a great experience and great conversation. The concept itself is a great idea, but poorly executed. The music does not make you want to be there longer than you need to be at all. There are times I want to get more services done but the music literally drives me out of the building. It is like they are trying to appeal to the type of clientele that may have money, but dont really have any hair left. As opposed to the young money group, 30-35 year range. The lounge area has got to be improved upon. The waits can be long at times because they really do a great job with execution and take their time. They lose a lot of business though with people leaving as opposed to waiting. And lastly, the VIP package should include more services. The bottle is a great idea and makes it personal, but at the end of the day we are there for the hair. You add more incentives and I know you will drive more memberships. Basically, the staff makes this place. Without them the establishment is nothing more than an overpriced flashy barbershop(that does not have a barber). Hopefully they stick around for a while so I dont have to start my search all over again. read more

After a not so stellar visit at Rooster's Men's Grooming Center, I decided to try out Tune Up. I was a little worried that it was going to be really gimmicky, but I can truly say I left completely happy. The place is nice and clean, and the person that checks you in offered me a drink, and I happily accepted a very well mixed Jack and Coke. I had my haircut with Matt, and it was the most detailed and thorough haircut of my life. I went in with a picture in hand, and he walked me through the entirety of it, and what parts of it would work, and what wouldn't, with my particular hair type and head shape. Top it all off with a shampoo, and hot towel to the face, and I left feeling like a new person! I find it really cool that they are also apparently able to leave notes on your 'profile' so that next time I come in, he can see the changes he made and be up to speed! Been going to this shop for a couple months now. Always get my haircut by Ashlee. (I go once a week). Every. single. time. the fade has been on point. Ash is super professional, easy to communicate with, and definitely has a lot of pride in her craft. The haircut has always been high quality and I've always left feeling clean and good about myself. It's more than just a haircut though, its an experience. The edge up is cleaned up with a razor, fade is triple checked at a minimum, hair washed with shampoo and conditioner at the end to make sure you leave clean, and hot towel while getting washed is just extra awesome. Honestly for the level of service that is provided, they could easily charge more than $25 per haircut. The vibe of the shop is nice. It's very laid back and chill. Complimentary drinks while you wait and a friendly staff. 2 large projector screens behind the bar to keep you entertained as well. I do have a few suggestions for corporate and owner: 1) they should consider allowing appointments. There is usually a wait and I have seen customers get disgruntled and angry at the stylists. As a customer, you want your stylist to take their time on you, which they definitely do. So a wait is expected for high quality cuts. But allowing customers and stylists to make appointments would help a lot with customer satisfaction and stylist morale. 2) The music. I can tell they want to make this a "family-friendly" shop with the music choice but that isn't the type of clientele I see when I come in. Hard to have a drink at the bar and not feel depressed or cheesed out with the music choice. Consider allowing some hip hop and something upbeat other than old school Journey and ABBA. There are a lot of "safe" options out there. If you're going to go for a "laid back manly" vibe, the music should reflect that. Right now it feels like an episode of GLEE. 3) No one plays shuffleboard here. Consider investing in a foosball table or a pool table instead. 4) Need more of those reclining chairs. 2 is not enough. Amp up that seating area! Either way, highly recommend the shop and Ashlee. Come expecting a wait, it'll be worth it. read more
