I get it, you get what you pay for but I've been to plenty of affordable salons that provided professional service and some sense of cleanliness. I went in thinking the stylist would be able to do a hair tone service but she gave me a haircut instead. I didn't go in for a haircut originally but she kept insisting that she wanted to just trim the ends. I finally gave in thinking the sooner she cut my hair the sooner she would tone my hair but she proceeded to style it instead. I asked her several times if she was going to tone my hair and she kept saying my color looked nice. If she couldn't do the service I wanted she could have told me on the phone when I called instead of wasting my time and trying to upsell me other services.

I believe her name was Rose or Rosy. I told her I wanted to trim maybe 5-6inches. She shows the amount of hair that is and looks about right. She asked if I wanted layers and I said thats fine. Just a little. I don't like layers but thought a little bit of it wouldn't hurt. She then started making conversation with me. The next thing I know I saw a bunch long strains of hair on the group and as she was trimming and cutting I saw how short my hair was. I was terrified. I told her that my hair was way too short. At some point I told her to stop fixing it. She still try to fix it by trimming and cutting some more. She wanted to style my hair and said I would look younger with this hairstyle. I never ask her to look younger or style my hair. I just want a simple cut 5-6inches off. She didn't do that and I believed she chopped off almost 15 inches from my hair. I was upset. When I went up front to pay, the guy at the front desk probably the owner heard my concerning voice about my hair and asked "is everything okay". I said no it's not. My hair is too short. He responded "well I hope it grow fast" I could have just walk out and not pay but I didn't. I paid and still tip 10% because I just can't see myself not paying. I'm still upset at how much I lost my hair and the unprofessionalism this place is. I understand that an Asian salon doesn't always give good experience and I would rather them be rude to me than chop off my hair that I can't get back. I contemplated about writing this review thinking that it wouldn't bring back my hair but I decided that someone need to see this and be careful next time you're getting your hair cut here. Apparently none…read moreof that mattered the one and only time I've ever missed an appointment without calling, the only one, ever, since I've been getting my hair done. I totaled my car in a snowstorm outside Boston at the start of March, an accident, not a choice, not something I scheduled around a hair appointment for fun. While I was busy figuring out how to get to a meeting in Minneapolis and my car 3,000 miles home, a hair appointment didn't fit into that equation on any level. I didn't get my usual reminder text before the appointment, like I always do so that at least I would've had a reminder to let them know what happened to me. I did get a voicemail DAY OF, half of which transcribed before cutting off, a name I didn't recognize, sounding exactly like the other 100 spam calls I get daily. I ignored it. Forgive me for not intuiting that it was salon-related while dealing with a totaled car in another state. When I finally went back in, I apologized, showed them photos of my car wrecked in snow, taken just days before the missed appointmen and still got handed a $98 cancellation FEE for an accident I didn't cause and couldn't have predicted. A lifetime of getting my hair done, never once missing an appointment without calling until that day, this was a first. Fine. I paid it anyway. I just wanted my hair done.Then my stylist informed me my red needed " to be evened out." My hair was the same red it had always been, I have the photos. She did my hair less than a couple of months before this, the color I came in with that I liked. The ONLY instruction I gave was no brown. I left brown. Full brown, gray showing through, at closing time, with Casey telling me she would fix it.The blowout was its own insult. I started paying $15 extra for flat-iron because I travel and needed it to last, not because the blowout itself was ever the problem. I have years of photos proving she could do a smooth blowout with zero flat iron involved. This time, paying extra for the upgrade, I got a blowout that didn't survive three hours, it was a frizz bomb. From the time I started using the flat iron to make my blowout last for work is the time she forgot how to do blowouts. Checkout was $358, about $150 over my normal total, because the $98 fee got folded silently into the bill, and I tipped on the entire thing without realizing it. Let me be very clear: I will tip generously on service. I will not, ever, knowingly tip on a FEE charged to me because of a car accident that wasn't my fault. There was no service in that FEE. There was no styling, no skill, no time in the chair, just a charge for missing an appointment I forgot about while dealing with a totaled vehicle 3,000 miles from home. When I called to ask for that specific gratuity be refunded, not the fee, just the tip stacked on top of it, I was told the stylist "gets the fee and the tip," like I was trying to take money out of her pocket. I wasn't. I was correcting an honest mistake on a bill I wasn't paying close attention to after a stressful, exhausting day. Their response was to call back and inform me they no longer wanted me as a customer. When I texted asking if my color could at least be corrected, I was met with silence. My hair is brown at this very minute trying to figure out how to come up with $200 more to fix the problem they created.And then my sister went in. I didn't warn her off, she'd had a hard time finding a stylist and didn't want to lose her appointment, and that's her call to make. Casey, the stylist, told her that her hair was greasy, hair that is dry, porous, and curly, and has never been oily a minute in its life. Along the way, the stylist told her she needed to brush her hair, as if she just rolled out of bed and came into the salon. It didn't need to be brushed, her hair is DRY, PORUS and CURLY, not unbrushed. Proceeding to her own color, my sister tried to explain what she actually wanted, light brown hair but while reiterating that to make sure it was done, Casey sneered, 'Is this going to be a Nickolle thing?' Keep my name out of your mouth. You don't get to talk about me like that while taking $400 from my sister. ANYWAY. The result: my sister wanted lighter. She left darker, with at least three colors woven in including the purple she specifically paid to have removed, and gray still very much present and accounted for. $400, and somehow the hair went the opposite direction of every single thing she asked for. They offered to let her come back in and put a small amount of highlights. As if, she's not letting anybody from that salon touch her hair ever again. Free or not. No thanks.Two appointments, two completely botched results, and a staff that responds to legitimate complaints by firing the customer instead of fixing the work. Disgusting.

I have been going to her for about 2 years now and she is working really hard to get my hair as healthy as it can and to stay close my natural color with a pop of lighter blonde. When we walked up Michelle let us in, very clean and exciting walking to her room, and she introduced us to Mikey who was really nice, his room looked cool, and he had some good music on, I liked the tunes! Michelle's room was "WOW" according to my kiddo. She offered beverages for us my daughter had a sprite and I had a coffee. Michelle was so nice, very pro, and made sure we kept our masks on, my daughter loved her and loved the way her hair came out, and I was really happy with my experience at a salon for the first time! We will definitely be back!!
