Do not go here!! I went for highlights and had white lines all over my hair! They insisted on fixing it (by adding darker "lowlights")instead of giving me my money back and my hair turned a dark green/ black. I went to visible changes to see a color correction specialist and she said it was one of the worst cases she's seen in 10 years and that there's no way any kind of profession would do this work. The correction specialist said my only option was to cut my hair to my chin or deal with fried hair from correcting the mistakes. It costed $225 to correct. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!! read more

I absolutely love this place! I moved to Houston in 2011 and as expected I struggled to find a new hair stylist. My hair has always been very thin due to hereditary genes. One random day after grocery shopping at the Kroger next door I decided to give TGF a try. This may have been the best accidental find ever. Yolanda cut my hair that day and I haven't gone anywhere else since that day. I don't know if I believe in "magic hands" but my hair begin to grow like crazy. It is healthier than it has ever been. The staff and other hair stylists are all super friendly as well. The salon is bright, clean and inviting. I would highly recommend a pampering session at this location! read more

Terrible haircut. Hairstylist was very nice but completely disregarded what I asked for in my cut. Instead, she did whatever she wanted and left my hair choppy, uneven, and overall messy. I usually get an angled bob and asked for the longest pieces to fall below my shoulder. She ended up cutting the back way too short and leaving the long pieces (that she ended up cutting ABOVE my shoulder) look extremely out of place. The whole "angled bob" looks like it was chopped with a machete knife. This haircut is very hard to fix considering she left it WAY too short. If you want a good haircut that you will be happy with, I would not step a foot in TGF. read more

I went for the first time today to get a men's haircut. The lady at the first chair on the left was my stylist, a master stylist at that. As I sat down for a cut, I felt confident that she was not going to mess up my hair. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I told her I needed a number 2, a little above the mid way point of my head. She didn't listen and cut my hair too high. Imagine a pineapple. That's how my haircut looked. As you can imagine, I was extremely upset that she didn't listen. Also, I requested the top of my hair to be cut a half an inch off. Well, she ended up cutting an inch off! How the heck did she receive credentials to become a master stylist? Additionally, I work as a professional in the oil and gas industry. Now I have to walk around with this uneven cut for the next two weeks until my hair grows back! I was cutting a significant length off of my hair to donate. The minimum requirement is 10 inches to donate. A stylist who was not even cutting my hair was arguing with the stylist doing the job about the required length. I told them I had been measuring my hair and it was more than long enough for the length I wanted to cut off. The stylist who (again was not cutting my hair) told the one who was where the length HAD to be. I asked her to show me the length on the front of my body so I could see what length I would have left and agreed upon that length. As soon as the stylist cut the ponytail, my hair swept to the front of my body and it was several inches shorter than where they had told me. The stylist (not cutting my hair) told me I would just have to wear my hair long in the front and short in the back because that was the length that needed to be donated. More than a foot was cut off of my head (15 inches to be exact. I measured it when I got home). Obviously you cannot replace the hair that has been cut already so I told her to continue with the hair cut as I sat in the chair crying. The two women began arguing in a different language and kept telling me it was the other one's fault. Completely unprofessional and then they wanted to stand there and continue to argue with me about the length. I know the difference between 10 inches and over a foot of hair. The one who made the fatal mistake at least continued to apologize as I cried and she butchered my hair some more. I feel like she just wanted me out of there asap. She didn't even attempt to make sure the hair I had left was evened out. Upon coming home, I flat ironed my hair and realized several strands were at least two inches longer than the rest of my hair. I decided to go to another salon to see if they could salvage my hair or if I was going to have to invest in hats and wigs until my hair grew longer. The master stylist showed me the back of my head and there was a gaping hole along my hairline! Also, the layers that she attempted to put in my hair were over an inch shorter than the bottom off my hair and were not blended at all. It just looked like I had two different lengths of hair. My husband could have probably put a bowl around my head and done a better job than the butchery that was done to my hair. Maybe his five year old niece would have done a better job. Thank god I don't have to become all emo now and wear black hoodies everywhere because another salon was able to fix your mistakes. Stay away from here unless you would like a mullet or some other super-uncool hair style that wont be the same length as the rest of your head. read more

I had just moved down to Houston from Phoenix a few months ago. I needed to get a hair cut so i decided to go to this place because it was nearby and i thought i'd give them a try. Never again will i EVER be going to this hair salon again! First and foremost, the employees were very unfriendly and they argued with each other (while assisting clients). I was greeted by a tall woman with blonde curly hair in a tubin...she refused to talk to me whenever i brought up a conversation. But, besides the topic, my haircut ended up being horrible. I go to high school right down the street from this place and i gotta say, i was embarrassed to go to school the next day. My hair was cut in a very odd angle, and my bangs are extremely (and very noticeably) uneven. On top of this, i asked to keep a little bit of my sideburns and she said "oh, ok" and shaved them right off. I complained about this place to my friends at school and they all asked why i decided to go there, because they all bad experiences there as well. Unless you are wanting a hair cut for Halloween or something, i do not recommend this hair salon. I will be going to Sports Clips down the street. Shame i cant go to this place, it was easy to go to and within walking distance. read more

I went to cut my hair short. I went in around 7. The lady kept asking me why do I want to cut my hair short. I answered her question at least two times and still she asked me third time. Then she deliberately kept looking in my hair and found dandruff and said that's a lice egg and she can't cut my hair. She was very very rude. I was shocked I came home and checked several times that was just s dandruff. It was around her closing time and she just did not want to do a haircut so she just lied to me. Very rude. read more
