The procedure was a bit painful for me (I'm a wuss!) but afterwards they put some cooling fans on my face and red light treatment to help with the sensation. I used the recommended aftercare kit, a few days after the procedure my skin was no longer red and after about 5 days most of the rough patches were gone. A week later my skin is smooth, tight, lifted and my pores and fine lines are almost invisible. I think it took 10 years of aging and damage off my face, my skin is incredible and I can't remember the last time it looked like this. If you're on the fence about Tixel just do it, it's worth it! I've also gotten a facial from Teri and Dysport from Christy in the past, both were amazing experiences. Have my next facial and Dysport booked and can't wait! Their prices are competitive and the staff is the best around. I recommend Elysian to anyone looking for some much needed pampering for themselves. Today, I went in for a powder full set and a pedicure. I asked for my nails to be slightly longer than the very short length I usually get. Both technicians were pleasant, although they repeatedly tried to upsell additional services, which I politely declined. My powder full set is normally $45, but today I was charged $48. When I asked if prices had increased, the cashier said no. I received a 10% discount and redeemed 260 reward points for an additional $10 off, totaling $17 in discounts. Later, when I reviewed my receipt, I noticed a $3 charge for "extra length." I was confused because my nails were only slightly longer than usual. I called the salon, and the employee explained that the charge was because my nails were considered long. I told her I wasn't looking for a refund, but I would stop by so she could see the length in person. When I returned, she again stated that my nails were long enough to justify the extra charge. I didn't argue, but I let her know I would be sharing my experience in a review. This is not my first issue with the salon. On Christmas Eve, Sam (one of the twins) did my nails, and the results were very poor. Instead of properly fixing the problem, he tried covering it with a sticker. I paid and left because I was too frustrated to deal with it that day. The day after Christmas, I returned and another technician corrected the work. The experience felt personal because Sam had done my nails before, and while my tips may not be huge, I always tip. Unfortunately, between the inconsistent pricing and past service issues, I have decided not to return to this business. Are these nails long enough for an extra charge?
