Conveniently located in East Aurora and more affordable than other area spas, but unfortunately the…read moreold maxim that you get what you pay for holds true here. I had a gel manicure and a massage done by the same person, which probably tells you something. The gel manicure looks awful - I can paint my own nails with more skill. Some nails are lumpy and uneven and on others the polish doesn't even come all the way to the tip of the nail. I didn't notice it until I got out into the sunlight or I'd have asked for them to be redone, but I don't really want to go back. The massage itself was just OK, but there was no discussion of what would be used (typically a scented oil of your choice, in my experience) and the massage therapist employed some kind of lotion that smelled cheaply and VERY strongly of fruit. Very cloying and the opposite of pampering or relaxing. I ended up going home and showering to get it off ASAP. The spa itself is rather odd. It is clearly a converted office building. The massage rooms are separated by yellow cubicle walls and there are fluorescent lights on the ceiling (not in use, thankfully.) No one else was there during my visit, but I can't imagine relaxing if one of the other stalls had been in use. It is nicely decorated, but it was obviously done on a tight budget. The reception area looks and feels like a doctor's office with slightly better furniture, and this is where you sit to wait for your appointment. No fluffy robes or cucumber water here! To be fair, it seems like the right intentions are there and the staff I encountered were friendly. If there were other reviews on Yelp, I probably wouldn't post one as it is not my intention to bash them. But as a consumer I want a better experience for my money, so I cannot recommend it to others.

I came here on the recommendation of my roommate, and for the first time in my twenty-plus years, I…read morehave a hair place!! Elle Salon is amazing for two reasons: 1) they cut my hair well (after a lifetime of bad haircuts) and 2) they do an excellent job with color. Until coming to Elle Salon, I've never had my hair colored. And it is jet black. I went in with the criteria "I want it to be a brownish red", not knowing anything about coloring, that dark hair is harder to dye, or which colors go well with which skin tones, etc. But Stacy helped me through the whole process. She told me what to expect, showed me a whole bunch of color swatches that matched my incredibly vague description, explained how certain colors fade and might look funny against my skin tone 6 months down the road...in short, she was amazing. We settled on a subtle allover brown that I was very happy with. So happy, in fact, that when I decided I wanted highlights, I went back to her. I've never had a hair salon experience as good as this, where the stylist really listens to what I want and adds her expertise to create a look that I love. I basically trust her enough to go in and say "do whatever you think will look good". In addition to doing a great job with my hair, their prices are very reasonable. Last time I went for a color touch up, highlights, and a trim, and it was $110. Appointments can be made online at their website, where you select the date, service, and stylist you want. And they even send you a nice reminder email to let you know your appointment is coming up! I live in Elmwood Village and this place is in Depew, but it is 100% worth the drive! Although I've only gone to Stacy, the other clients here all seem really happy when they leave, and the business seems to have a pretty steady clientele. All in all, I highly recommend Elle Salon, and if you want to get your hair colored, Stacy is your girl!

She truly takes care of your nails, from thoroughly removing dead skin and cuticles to being a total perfectionist with design and polish. I was able to get out of the house because I had a babysitter last minute so I came by to see if they had availability for a manicure and pedicure. There was a woman with a long ponytail that told me to come back in 30 minutes and they could do it. So I went and ran an errand and then came back. After waiting about 10 minutes in the front of the store, they called me to sit in the chair for my pedicure. There, I waited for about 40 minutes before anyone came and started. My water had gotten cold by then I wanted to leave, but I also really needed to get my toes done because I know I wouldn't have another chance anytime soon. meanwhile, a woman with down syndrome was sat next to me. She was waiting patiently and he actually told me that her appointment was at 2:15 and it was now 330. The guy comes over and finally starts my toes and about 15 minutes later, a woman comes over and starts on the woman next to me. The woman next to me had been looking in the nail book at designs and colors. She had brought the books 2 her chair to help her communicate what she needed to the workers. They removed the box and took them away. Then the worker asked the woman if she wanted acrylic nails, or her real nails. The one with down syndrome was very shy and I don't think she understood what they were asking so I asked her if I could help. I was able to support her communication to the workers. However, the man that was working on my toes was mocking her in their language. I don't know if they think I was born yesterday or if this woman With down syndrome lacked the abilities to see that they were making fun of her, but it was a disgusting display of ignorance. They were laughing. He was making gestures. I was disgusted. Fast-forward to me finally finishing my pedicure. I was supposed to get a manicure and then they told me they didn't have time. The woman who originally told me to come back, told her daughter in the front working the register that she overbooked everybody for the day and blamed her. My eyes and ears to see me? Was the older woman not the one who told me to come back herself today? This place is a joke. It's overpriced for the quality of service that I received. I will make sure to spread the word that this place is filled with ignorance. This environment is not friendly, welcoming, understanding, or professional. Stay far away.

I found Bare by Bree on Yelp and I can't say enough how I am over the moon. I will look no further. :) I am not the thinnest I've ever been and was concerned. Bree is kind and professional and I could not have had a better experience. She is friendly and conversational and, like any girl's girl worth her salt would do, reminded me that women are not all what we see on tv and that there would be no need to worry. What a relief - you are self-conscious to begin with and that left immediately with her down-to-earth professionalism and friendliness. I was hoping this wax would not be painful compared to sugaring, which is what I was used to. To anyone with concerns- whether it was Bree's skill or the product she used, it felt no different than sugaring and was not anything more than a small discomfort that immediately passed as you would expect from any service like this. I had not one concern or area in need of extra attention, and at my first appointment I received a small goody bag of after-care products. Her prices are very reasonable and her skill is excellent. She has appointments throughout the day, making scheduling around work a breeze & she is located within a salon. Her room is bright, exceptionally clean and very comfortable. If you are reading reviews because you need help finding someone for waxing or lashes, please trust me and book with Bree. She is excellent.
