A crepe and a feijoada. Perfection.
    Bridget M.

Gluten free crepes. I feel that is all that needs to be said. Anybody who suffers as a coeliac will know how difficult it is to find quick food when out and about that doesn't taste terrible and is more than just a pack of crisps. And also the pang when you see food porn pictures of things like pancakes and crepes knowing that you can't have any that will ever be quite 'the same'. Well, anybody who is in Edinburgh, be you gluten free or not, must stop by this absolute gem. They do sweet crepes such as lemon and sugar for you traditionalists out there and then several others with nuts or chocolate or bananas that are all just so, so tasty. Their savoury crepes are also incredible with several standard offers and their 'crepe of the day'; their chicken curry piri piri is a personal favourite, marinated chicken thigh with spinach, avocado, cheese and marinated peppers and onions - yum. Every Saturday they offer up their 'feijoada' which is, alas, a crepe-less dish but is served with sausage meat, black beans and rice. The crepes themselves are amazing, they're light and fluffy and just perfect. You wouldn't guess they were gluten free like some other items on offer around. They even have a dairy free mix on offer for those of the vegan persuasion. I make it my goal to go here at least once a week, I would suggest you make it a usual stop too.

Another day, another city and so I found myself in Edinburgh this weekend for a conference. As always, G has an encyclopaedic knowledge of little-known food places and highly recommended we try this little place out - and I'm glad we did! Don't get me wrong this isn't the cheapest food outlet in the world, but there's a level of enjoyment from seeing your food cooked fresh in front of you. I had the chicken crepe and at £4.50 it was the perfect size to kill off the hunger pangs without giving me post-lunch lethargy. Lovely fresh food cooked in front of you, for less than a high street takeaway meal. I'll have that!

Delicious gluten-free crepes!! And they're generous portions. I was able to finish mine easily but was also quite full. I ordered the chicken curry piri piri crepe (5 pounds), which had a lot of cheese and a lot of chicken with a decent amount of avocado chunks and other condiments. Not very spicy by my tastebuds, but definitely very flavorful! Be prepared to wait, as the lines can get long and they can only make four crepes at a time. We waited probably around 10-15 min after ordering to receive ours. There are a couple of little wooden tables you can sit at, but I wouldn't bet on them being free haha. The women making the crepes were super friendly!

Gluten free. Yay! This tiny police box is my favourite eatery in Edinburgh. Everything is strictly gluten free, fresh, and some dishes can be made vegan as well. The savoury crepes are very tasty and filling. Excellent value for money.

Had the special of the day - roast beef, cheddar, spinach, tomato, mustard, horseradish. It was amazing. Ridiculously good. Owners are super nice too!

Taking my first delicious bite of this amazing and massive crepe!

Very good, price is cheap. No place to sit. You can stroll and eat. I recommend for a quick lunch.

It made the perfect pre-show dinner and for £4, wasn't bad, considering the quality of the ingredients.

My boy always orders a crepe covered in Nutella, because he just loves it, and this time I had a portions of Chilli Nachos, (which were delicious). The restaurant overlooks all the shoppers coming and going on the ground floor of Centre West and is good for a bit of people watching. I had a coke and was pouring it into the glass provided when i noticed some of that waterproof lipstick on the glass. As it wasn't my shade the waitress believed me and brought me a new glass. I was now 'down' half a can of coke. I felt compelled to ask for another can so that I didn't lose out on the deal. The girl brought me one and left me with the remaining contents of the first. Result! It's not expensive at all, probably because of all the other outlets all around it. I'd recommend it, even if it's just a cappucino that you're after.

Don't let that put you off, the food is really tasty. They have 3 different homemade pastas on each day and everything seems to be pretty much homemade. I had the bruschetta to start and tuna mayo pasta. Both were well cooked and very fresh tasting. Special mention goes to the Nutella crepe and cream. It is huge!! The crepe was delicious, with warm oozing Nutella. Special mention has to go to the cream...no idea how they made it but it is worth getting just for the cream!! Cut above all the rest of the places in the food court.

Playing their music really loud and I'm deaf as hell so when I say loud I mean loud. Or 20 min wait ended up being 45 min even though there were lots of empty tables that needed to be cleaned. Once we were sat it was 18 mins before any server came over to ask about drinks. The salad bar area was in disarray. Options looked like bad cafeteria food. Now the meats. Can you say over cooked! , rubbery, dry and no flavor! The picana was almost un eatable. Seriously don't know how this place stays open. It's a far cry from a real churrascaria Thumbs down!

We had a table booked for 7:30, and we arrived about 10 minutes early. The staff asked us to take a seat in the bar area and we would be escorted to our table shortly. We then waited 15 minutes for someone to take our drinks orders, and another 5 for us to be taken to our table so we weren't actually seated until 7:40. Not a great start. A member of staff came over and explained the procedure: staff would come round with the different cuts of meat for us to try, it was all you can eat and when you can't eat any more, you flip a sign so they know to stop bringing you food. I headed over to the 'salad' bar to grab some sides, but most of the sides were stews, risottos and quite heavy dishes. I tried some of the pork stew, which was lovely, and grabbed some traditional Brazilian cheese rolls which were so moreish. There are 15 different meats to try, and we were determined to sample every one. We had been told that the meat was served medium rare, but I found that most of the beef either came totally rare, or very well done. There was no inbetween. The roast gammon was probably my favourite - it was salty, smokey and delicious. I wasn't really wowed by any of the other meats, although I didn't sample the Chicken Hearts - that was a bit much for me! For the full rodizio, which includes the salad bar and all the meat, it cost £24.95 per person. It's fair that by the end of it, you are ridiculously full and there is a novelty element to the meat being carved right at your table, but it seemed a bit much to me. The staff were very chatty and friendly, and often checked which meats you hadn't tried yet so they could get them over to you, I just found it all a bit lack-lustre. I don't think I would go rushing back, but I'm glad I experienced it.

Because of the concrete, the walls and ceiling were "sweaty" and literally dripping on you. The music and atmosphere were great but we just couldn't get comfortable as it was a long walk through the crowd to the bar. Also to get to the smoking area you need to fight through the crowded club, then all the way through the bar upstairs also, despite there being another staircase leading directly outside (this was only used for people entering the club).
