We just moved to the area and we've been looking for our new ice cream spots. Turbo came highly suggested and it was alright. Service was really good. The young staff is nice and quick. The free stickers made my kid happy and even my wife. Prices are a bit inflated IMO, but this may just be the area. Parking was easy on a Saturday afternoon. I like the outdoor seating and shade. It's a nice place to stop with a ton of families and kids hanging out. I also love the store shirt. I found the chocolate soft serve a bit dull though. The vanilla is much better. Sprinkles were really good and the mixed ice cream and candy options are nice. We will try some other places but we will also be back. read more

So happy I found this little slice of delicious coned heaven! GF, DF and so many options for a sweet treat. I love that they have the Pineapple that's basically like a Dole Whip (it's GF, DF & vegan to boot). The Non Dairy Vanilla is a classic and goes well with all the other flavors. I am obsessed with the Iceberg. Couldn't decide between a Slushie or Ice Cream and this does it all!!! It's soft serve on top of a delicious iced slush. Many options to mix and match the flavors. Our current favorite Icebergs are - DF Vanilla in Grape / Pineapple in Peach / Swirled Vanilla & Pineapple in Blue Raspberry. Wish they had a GF cone option but don't hate it since the slush only requires a cup! Imo, soft serve has never been on the same page as regular ice cream. Most soft serve tastes very processed and it usually lacks the creaminess of regular ice cream. Carvel and Dairy Queen definitely are a step in the right direction for creamy soft serve, but they still seem pretty processed to me. However, that is not the case with Turbo Cone. They totally nailed it! It's literally the best soft serve that I've ever had. Aside from the normal toppings, they also have a variety of sprinkles, dips, and sauces to go with your cone, cup, shake, float, or slushy. Don't get me wrong, I have a couple of go-to places for regular ice cream, but Turbo Cone is definitely where it's at for soft serve! read more

I've always heard great things about Turbo Cone.. So glad I finally tried it! I'm a huge malt fan and there's is one of the bests! I could not get enough. I prefer a chocolate malt and this one was just what I wanted. You can taste tiny bites of malt which is a bonus. Traffic can be a little tricky if you are trying to take a left out of Turbo Cone. Just take your time and you'll eventually get out. Looking forward to another visit at my new favorite malt stop. read more

We love this ice cream. They don't have any indoor seating but ample outdoors with easy parking and a bathroom. The menu is vast and has something for everyone. They accommodated my husband's nut allergy well which we always appreciate. Highly recommend! read more

Who doesn't love a soft-serve ice cream cone? Turbo's got that and more. I had a choco-vanilla twist in a waffle cup, and could've had soft serve mango or a mix-in mash, milkshake, and more. I enjoyed my cup under the roof of their outdoor seating, but I saw most customers take their choices away. My ice cream was delish, and the waffle cup was crispy and a satisfying ending. Way better than Dairy Queen! I love getting the hurry cone, which was any of their soft serve mixed with up to three toppings. One of the toppings can even be a sauce, which gives it a different dimension of flavor. They dipped cones I recommend eating on site, but I did ask them if they could lay it down in a bowl to bring it to go and the ice cream and dip held up for the drive home. There is no drive-through and if you miss the turn, you can't get into their parking lot so just make sure to turn before the sign. All ordering is outside through a window. They do have some seats outside with coverage, but if it's raining, not room to sit that you won't get wet. read more

A West Ashley institution, although I would probably choose Ye Olde before Turbo Cone. Certainly nothing wrong with TC, the ice cream we had was fine, if a little on the bland side. But it offers an overall good experience, being able to sit outside with everyone and enjoy your meal. read more

Love this ice cream spot! Be aware they have overflow parking on a side street. It's staffed by mostly high school aged kids but they're fast and friendly. Lots of picnic tables to choose from under a big cover. The hurricone is my favorite - get the turbo cone crunch in it! read more

Honestly not impressed. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing. Our cones melted so so fast and it wasn't that hot out. They were very messy and got everywhere. For the price, I expected to be at least a little bit wowed, but the flavors were very mild and the hard shell was waxy. If you just want a soft serve cone, I'd go somewhere less expensive. A little pricey but I was told it was worth it. Meh. I had the cheesecake ice cream in a waffle cone. The portion was large but both were completely flavorless. The ice cream had zero cheesecake flavor and tasted of bland, unflavored cream. The waffle cone was also bland and not sweet. Other than a hint of cinnamon, it was tasteless. Save your $7 and buy some tillamook instead. read more

I didn't know soft serve was here in Charleston until a friend raved about Turbo Cone!! Coming from Florida, Twistee Treat is a staple so I'm so happy Turbo Cone is here. I was delighted to see that they had dairy free flavors too and so many different dips to choose from. I went with a dairy free pineapple dole whip soft serve with a blue raspberry dip topped with rainbow sprinkles! It was amazing! I also really love the drip cover for my cone. Charleston is hot and it definitely came in handy! There were a lot of people there but they had enough people working for a busy Sunday and we got our ice cream in a few minutes! I was served a hot mess of liquid soft serve with chunks of drip and a puddle of marshmallow sauce on top. It seemed like the gal working doesn't know how to dip and made a mess and instead of remaking it, threw it all inside a cup and gave it to me. It was so gross and disappointing, and inedible. Stopped in on Labor Day weekend and they were packed. The line moved quickly though as they had multiple windows going. They also have a good amount of seating to accommodate everyone. I was excited to find legit soft serve and especially with a mix of flavors. I ended up doing the blizzard type item (sorry I forget the name of it) using chocolate ice cream and a strawberry mix in. I'd like to see more candy mix ins like maybe heath bar or butterfinger. They also do dipped cones in all sorts of flavors too. Loved this spot, even if it is a bit removed from town. Soft Serve is one of my favorite ways to enjoy ice cream and this spot ticks all the marks. You can have it dipped and sprinkled too, but I'm a purist - just the ice cream swirl, please. And theirs had great flavor. The only negative is the cones have a plastic drip cup on them - considering our wildlife here in the area - I would ask they lose that. We know how to handle a dripping cone...right? read more

We have been hoping for good soft serve in the area and haven't been able to find it yet. The texture of the ice cream was actually really good, it just didn't have much taste...I had a chocolate and vanilla swirl and couldn't taste a difference in either flavor which is kind of weird? The blizzard seemed better but wish they had butterfinger! Overall I would go back if I was in the area and wanting ice cream, but wouldn't go out of the way for it personally. read more

Looking for a casual option to enjoy some delicious ice cream with the fam? Turbo Cone is your spot. With an order window and tons of picnic tables over gravel (makes you feel so much less guilty when your kid is inevitably dropping ice cream on the ground) this is the perfect place to stop for a treat. While the ice cream flavors might be a bit limited, the options are not. They have fun dips, toppings, milk shake and malts that you can customize. They also give out cool holographic stickers which was added to our collection of local stickers on the garage fridge. This place had me at soft serve! We were out on a Saturday night recently and my daughter wanted ice cream. We were in North Charleston and wanted to go somewhere new. Yelp led me to Turbo Cone! This is such a good spot! You walk up to the window and place your order and they go by a number system printed on your ticket. I stopped here the other night with my daughter. Our second visit to this location. I really enjoy their soft serve vanilla in a cup with sprinkles. It's nice and smooth, creamy, and cold. She ordered the special flavor twist, which was pineapple and dairy free vanilla. From what I could tell, she really enjoyed it. I'm already looking forward to the next turbo cone trip!!! The soft serve is good on its own but I got distracted by the choice of unique toppings!! They had 3 types of twirly flavors available and I'm glad because it's hard for me to make a decision sometimes if there's too many options haha I went with the chocolate + raspberry swirl and my Dad went with the classic vanilla + chocolate. He got Reese's cups with his and they were very generous! For me I was delighted by the sprinkles and option to "dip" your cone or cup! I got the birthday cake dip and it tasted like frosting!! Since we were there 2.5 hours before closing, there didn't seem to be a lot of cake options available, but my husband and I decided to share a slice of the s'mores cake with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream to make it à la mode. The s'mores cake was a chocolate cake with mini marshmallows, chocolate fudge, graham crackers, and more marshmallows. The cake was good and had everything I could ever want in it, but it was a little dry. I think this also had to do with it being the end of the night. The ice cream complemented the flavor well. It would have been better with a second scoop of ice cream though. Service was great! It took about 10 minutes from when we ordered to get our dessert. I would probably come back here again, but not so late at night so there would be fresher cake with more options available.

I would not order it again. The Tollhouse pie was a bit better, but the presentation and the whipped cream were the standouts, and the whipped cream wasn't even homemade! That's the best thing I could say about our experience. The food, pricing, service, and ambiance all fell below average. When you are located downtown with so many great dessert options around, you really need to step up your game. We will not be returning.

A+ on the ice cream - creamy and delicious, just like my date du jour. Only slight (and I mean SLIGHT) complaint was how thin the waffle cone was, causing the ice cream to drip all over me (again, just like my date du jour). We got two double cones for about $21, and I'd pay that again. Super high quality and the ice cream was not overly sweet. I absolutely loved the big chunks of peanut butter in the one and massive chunk of brownie in the other. Made me feel like I was having a "ménage a trios" in my mouth. Also, the ladies who worked the front line killed it last night, and were sweet with smiles, which is increasingly rare, especially given the chaos on a hot Friday night. On Monday, I will before forced back on my sugar fast, but the next time I want a hit of "good" sugar, I will walk down the street to Off Track. Great service, delicious calories, and interesting selections. Vincent Vega may have a heart attack when he sees the $9.95 shake, but do yourself a favor and splurge, because "C'est la vie."
