Sweets, sweets, and more sweets. It was really busy on a Friday night. So many dessert options. The bourbon pecan pie ala mode was outstanding. The martinis were sweet (as expected). Staff was all very friendly.
Popped into this place for dessert one night after we did our barbecue dinner. This place did not disappoint . Cute place with more than enough choices to choose from Keylime pie was out of this world, and they make a great cappuccino too.
Pretty embarrassing experience at Kaminsky's this evening. Walked in to order a slice of cake, asked to be seated (3 open tables, nobody behind us), was told it would be a 15-20 minute wait. Ok, that's ridiculous, it's a dessert place at 9:15 and we're getting a slice of cake, not exactly like this is going to be a 3-hour full course meal but sure we'll just do takeout. $10.50 later, behold the slice of cake in my photo. Literally looks like someone already took a huge bite out of it. And frankly it wasn't that great even notwithstanding the pitiful presentation. Will not be returning, and would advise others not to visit either.
Ordered an off menu drink, and it was delicious! Michael prepared it, while Gracie and Acacia provided the friendliest customer service. There is a wide collection of sweet, alcoholic and nonalcoholic, milkshakes, and martinis. This is the dessert shop for Tbonz next door.
After dinner, we decided to grab dessert in Charleston and upon searching found Kaminsky's Dessert Cafe. Parking was outside on the street, and when we walked in, it was busy with people ordering takeout and enjoying their desert. We checked out the place, and found a table, and soon our server, Grace, came over. We ordered the A La Mode and milkshake. We enjoyed the desert. It was delicious, well-made, and melted in our mouths. It was absolutely amazing. We also loved the milkshakes. They were some of the best we've had.The chocolate milkshakes was incredible. Kaminsky's is definitely a great place to go in Charleston to try their delicious desserts.
We stopped by Kaminsky's on a Saturday night looking for a sweet treat. I wasn't totally impressed with the options, but it wasn't terrible either. I expected more unique dessert options, or even vanilla bean over vanilla. Personally, I expected to be wowed more with the options, and I wasn't. Nonetheless, this is a nice place to stop by and get something sweet. Service was lovely and the inside is nice, especially if you get a seat at the bar. It's also family friendly.
Every year I come here for my birthday cake. It's usually either hair or saffrons but the last couple years I came here last year I had the hummingbird everybody loved that cake, it was super thick. So the slices were gigantic, but it was worth it. All you needed was a cool glass of almond milk. This year, I went with the lemon cheesecake and the red velvet cake, and they did not let me down, they were so damn good. The crust on the lemon cheesecake I can eat all day by itself. They were perfect. Everyone went crazy over the red velvet cake. I shared a birthday with another family member. So we had a pretty good turn out in a backyard. Shindig, where would this world be with our cancers? We run the world And we show you people how to love. This world Wouldn't be nothing without us never forget that I cannot wait till next year. I already know what I'm going to get but I won't tell you yet to all other cancers out there happy birthday and I love you.!!!!!
We liked this place. This was our final stop on a culinary tour and we got a cappuccino and a slice of cheesecake and a slice of the cookie pie. Both were fantastic!
First of all, kudos for having multiple dessert bars open late! We need these in every city! Bakeries always close early and then the only establishments open after 7pm are just bars and pubs. I've always felt the intense need for a proper dessert place. Kaminisky's has cakes, milkshakes and pies offered. My hope is that one day there would also be pastries, cupcakes and single serving Euro or Asian style cakes and desserts open somewhere. Okay, back to Kaminiskys--their cakes and pies were by the slice and I kid you not, they went for $8 - $12 a slice. Craziness. I would have happily paid $5 - $6 for a regular portion sized slice of cake. Instead, my bill was close to $13 for a gigantic slice of chocolate cake. The flavors were kind of similar and didn't have anything too exciting; I was looking for lemon cream or strawberries 'n cream, pear and graham cracker, etc. I opted for the Mountain of Chocolate. I don't particularly go for chocolate flavored desserts because I like fruit flavors better or more interesting ingredients like creme brulee, etc. but the description of ganache and buttercream sounded fab. For what I got, it definitely was chocolately but fortunately, not overly sweet. There was way too much cake ratio to cream. The server mentioned chocolate mousse but there was none. The buttercream was delicious but way too little! I wanted a thick layer of it but alas, could not even cover the massive amount of cake. I didn't taste any ganache either. Oh darn, should've gone with the lighter chocolate Heath cake!
I always stop here when in town. The nutty Irishman is my go to coffee. Dessert varies depending on what they have that day but usually includes chocolate. It gets busy. As it is usually me I try to steal a seat at the bar to avoid the wait. There are only a few tables so seating is limited. Pro tip go to the restaurant next door and order dessert.

Heard so many things about Kaminsky's so we made our way here after dinner at Sorghum & Salt. We knew one of their signature items was the pies so we sought to split the Tollhouse pie. First, the ambiance when you enter is pretty dope. It's like a mini lounge with the dim lighting. And you get table service too. It's crazy. But the tollhouse pie was tasty. Generous serving - one we had to split between the both of us. Super delicious and decadent. Amazing nightcap to our first night in Charleston!

My husband, his parents, and I went to Kaminsky's at around 8:30ish on a weeknight for a sweet treat. It's a super small establishment with a few tables and some bar seating. Luckily, we were able to be seated immediately but it was very close quarters with surrounding tables. The menu is vast with different dessert options. If you want to know what cakes are available, you should check out the display stand right when you enter. Since we were there 2.5 hours before closing, there didn't seem to be a lot of cake options available, but my husband and I decided to share a slice of the s'mores cake with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream to make it à la mode. The s'mores cake was a chocolate cake with mini marshmallows, chocolate fudge, graham crackers, and more marshmallows. The cake was good and had everything I could ever want in it, but it was a little dry. I think this also had to do with it being the end of the night. The ice cream complemented the flavor well. It would have been better with a second scoop of ice cream though. Service was great! It took about 10 minutes from when we ordered to get our dessert. I would probably come back here again, but not so late at night so there would be fresher cake with more options available. read more

We gave Kaminsky's Dessert Cafe a second try, but unfortunately they couldn't redeem themselves. On both visits, service was lacking. We waited about 5 to 10 minutes to be acknowledged while two employees stood nearby. The two layer chocolate caramel pecan cake, which our waitress initially could not find, was dry and tasted stale. I would not order it again. The Tollhouse pie was a bit better, but the presentation and the whipped cream were the standouts, and the whipped cream wasn't even homemade! That's the best thing I could say about our experience. The food, pricing, service, and ambiance all fell below average. When you are located downtown with so many great dessert options around, you really need to step up your game. We will not be returning. read more

My family and friends visited Kaminsky's for my birthday dessert! This location is in downtown Charleston so there is no stand alone parking. You can find street parking close by. I was greeted as soon as I entered and quickly seated. The service was exceptional. I ordered the Chocolate mound cake. Don't worry if you aren't sure what to get. You can just tell your server what you like and they can provide several recommendations. The Chocolate Mound Cake was huge and so delicious, like a moist chocolate explosion. The desserts are very big and perfect for sharing. They also offer fancy dessert coffees, milkshakes, pies and adult dessert beverages. This place is my happy place! I highly recommend! read more

I went into this cafe after wanting to try forced and OH. MY. LORDDD. It was the best service I've had in Charleston. The lady who was serving at the bar with the mushroom earrings was the nicest and most attentive service person I have met so far in Charleston. Aside from the amazing service the coconut cream pie was outstanding and the hot chocolate was good. It was such a cute and cozy vibe and I am looking forward to coming back for the food but also the outstanding service from the mushroom earrings woman. read more
Desserts and boozy milkshakes are only rivaled by Carmella's ! Always a necessary stop after dinner or lunch nearby. Minus 1 star for abysmal service, however, we were told they had no servers that day and therefore bartenders were serving. It took 10 min of me standing at the register for them to acknowledge I needed to pay and leave. read more
We stopped here for takeout dessert and were not disappointed. The butterfinger cheese cake was creamy and delicious, with the perfect amount of butterfinger flavor. My wife got the key lime pie, which I am usually not a fan of, but theirs was tasty and delightfully tart. Friendly staff with helpful suggestions. We will definitely try to return during our visit to Charleston. read more

So many desserts to choose from, a great playlist, great coffee and drink choices...we got the ice cream sundae and added pecans. I mean, how could it go wrong?! A case full of cakes, pies, cobblers and cookies and brownies ready to go. Staff was friendly, plenty of seating, and located right across from the market...and the sundae was very good. The milkshakes looked amazing. Note: they only have vanilla ice cream. The server also let us know that the desserts may rotate, so, there may be something in the case that's not on the menu. read more
Visited on February 21st. This place was amazing. I had never heard of a cafe that also caters to adult "alcohol added" desserts. Collectively we tasted the Mochatini, Bushwhacker, and the Up All Night. Our overall consensus was the "Up All Night" was the best! The Hummingbird cake (spice cake, pineapples, bananas, cream cheese icing and pecans) it was delicious and large enough for 2 1/2 servings. We also had the Toll House which was rich with chocolate chips and also plenty enouh to share. Overall, we were pleased with our visit and dessert choices. Coffee was good as well, smooth! They have a bar inside the cafe and an attached restaurant bar calls TBonz. Although the vibe looked chill, we didn't eat there so this review is only for Kaminsky's. We will definitely be back when we're back in Charleston area. Thank you to server, she was delightful and professional. read more
I came right at open and as soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a bunch of scrumptious looking dessert in a display case. But I only came for one thing and that was a slice of tollhouse pie. ($8+ with tax). The friendly worker asked if I wanted it heated and I said oh yes! It was so decadent and luckily I ate barbecue before or i would've got at least one more slice and maybe another dessert. It was very clean inside as well. read more

Kaminsky's has been a consistently excellent dessert spot for at least the last 20 years. I have not been disappointed yet. It's a small, intimate and cozy dessert cafe and bar attached to the Tbonz restaurant. You can walk in and order to go or sit and order from the menu. Tonight we walked in and were seated immediately. I had the Cherry Chocolate Chip Pie. It is the perfect blend of fruit and chocolate. My friends ordered the New York cheesecake and the mixed berry cobbler. Everything was on point. read more

My wife and I loved this place. We stopped here twice during our vacation. They have a nice wait staff and great desserts. I really enjoyed my mochatini. The second time we stopped and got root beer floats with adult root beer, which was also very tasty and exactly what we needed on a hot Charleston night read more

Kaminski's Dessert Café in downtown Charleston is an absolute gem for anyone with a sweet tooth. From the moment you step inside, the warm ambiance and inviting dessert displays promise an unforgettable treat -- and they absolutely deliver! I tried their signature Tollhouse Pie, and it was divine -- rich, gooey, perfectly warm, and paired beautifully with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The Expresso milkshake was thick and rich and did not disappoint! The 3 layer chocolate cake was my best friend's birthday celebration choice! Carmel latte to seal the deal was beautiful to the eye and pallet. The staff were friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. Whether you're wrapping up a night out or just craving something indulgent, Kaminski's is the perfect stop. It's more than dessert -- it's a whole experience with huge servings! Had a craving for something sweet and boy did this place deliver. Located down in the middle of it all in Charleston. The decor is like a historic looking cafe which was clean and classic. The service was a tad slow but they were busy. We had two different cakes both of which were incredibly moist and full of flavor. I also had a vanilla latte which was very good but could have been a little warmer. My better half had a cup of coffee which she said was decent. All in all very solid cafe and would definitely return in the area. read more

Popular dessert cafe connected to a full service restaurant. Stopped in here to grab a slice of cake to go, as it seems many people do. They have several cakes on display as well as a bar. Some of the plates that they were serving to people looked pretty great, especially the pies with ice cream. The M&M cake slice to go was a bit visually disappointing, feel free to look at the photo below. Still tasted good though. Just too much icing, but I have that experience 9 out of 10 times at any dessert place. Service was quick even with a line. read more
