Love this new neighborhood ice cream shop. We were over by Target and stopped in for a treat after shopping. It was fun to try the rotating scoops. Ended up trying the Oreo Battery Banana (NZ style which was unique!) while my kids got scoops of Baja chocolate and vanilla. Great staff! They were so patient with our kids. Was looking for a unique dessert experience and came across Phil's. While I didn't try the New Zealand style ice cream (seems better suited for summer), the ice cream flavor I did try was super delicious. It had nuts. It was not too sweet. But that was broken up with these caramel swirls that were a little bit sweeter. I loved it. Came here in a family vacation and would go back. Very tasty and a new kind of ice cream! The woman behind the counter was very sweet and had patience for our indecision. Ended up having pineapple whip, Oreo battery banana, and a version of cookies and cream. All were very tasty and watching them be mixed and come out like soft serve was fun. read more

Izzy's has been on my list for a couple years now. I had the opportunity to go today and was nicely surprised. I tried the pumpkin icecream and cookie dough vegan icecream. They had several options to choose from but it wasn't overwhelming. The service was so incredibly kind and helpful! It is good for grab and go or sit and eat. Great selection of flavors, humongous portions, helpful staff, good prices, and great location. We were on vacation and went here because all of the other places were running out of ice cream. The worst part of it is that they had limited choices and still couldn't keep anything in stock. It's all about location, right? Izzys blows all of these places away. Different clientele, I guess. If you are going to Target or one of the several bars and restaurants in this area, make sure to get stop at Izzys for some dessert! You will want to order the Orange flavored ice cream, it's amazing! I can see this place getting busy after kids' sporting events. read more

Convenient location to stop for ice cream coming back from Isle of Palms. The owner was so friendly and easy to talk to, made us feel right at home. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a set-up toward the back with a kids' table and some kid books, which kept our daughter entertained while we finished our ice cream.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The icing on the cake (or maybe the cherry on top?) was the counter display of homemade Greek cookies and treats. We recently had our daughter's birthday party at Izzy's Scoops and Sweets and we could not have been more impressed! Ms. Izzy thought of everything and made the whole morning incredibly easy and fun!! Stop in after a nice evening stroll to check it out and had he hardest time trying to decide but the owner was so great she suggested a combination of two flavors that were so good we are trying to find a way to stop in one more time before we head back home to Virginia. Here is a place that understands customer service is the key to loyal customers... she even drizzled raspberry sauce on our take home raspberry white chocolate cheesecake. I chose the Spicy Chicken Wrap and a caramel frappe. The frappe was pretty and also yummy. The wrap was huge - I could only eat half of it. It was essentially a large salad wrapped in a tortilla. It wasn't that spicy, but it was tasty. Service was quick, the place was clean, staff was friendly, and the food was good. I would certainly go back again.

Everyone at our table loved their meals -- burgers, fries, and sandwiches all around with rave reviews. I ordered "The Bird," and it was absolutely delicious: perfectly cornmeal-breaded with a crispy fried crunch on the outside while staying incredibly moist and flavorful inside. Instead of cake, our group brought blueberry pies and vanilla ice cream, and the staff graciously took everything to the kitchen, sliced and plated the pie, added generous scoops of ice cream, and even placed birthday candles on each slice. Such a thoughtful touch that made the celebration extra special. The atmosphere along the water made it even better. Watching kayaks, paddle boards, and boats pass along Shem Creek while enjoying lunch was the perfect backdrop for a celebration. This has definitely become a new favorite spot for our group! That may be a preference thing and I have high expectations for breakfast skillets. The blueberry jam was heaven and I'd eat it by the gallon if I could. I think next time I would try something else, like the Benedict. This is clearly a well loved and popular spot for breakfast. I wouldn't get my dish again, but it seems there are plenty of wonderful options on the menu.
