Be careful if you would like to use their installation. For a small rectangle area, they even used 4 very small leftover pieces to seam together. Of course they would charge you for the regular price because you couldn't tell if it was 4 pieces vs 1 intact piece work after the work. But the extra seams might be problematic later. read more

After getting a new water mandate to cut our water usage and only water our grass once a week, my wife and I decided that it was time to replace our lawn. I went out to Turf Exchange after reading their reviews to see samples of what was available. Not only did they have sample squares of the different turfs available but in front of their office and warehouse they had different "lawns" on display. This was great because I could see the samples as lawns rather than a 1 foot square. I spoke to Julio Quintero who is a manager there. He was very helpful and happy to answer all my questions. He also introduced me to Mitch, the owner who was very nice and personable. The next day after my wife and I picked the style we liked, an appointment was made with Julio and his wife Michelle, to come out to the house for an estimate. They showed up on time and after measuring said an email with a written estimate would be sent. They emailed a written estimate to us and the price seemed reasonable. We were told that it would be 4-6 weeks before the 1-2 day installation could start because we picked the most popular style and there was a backlog. Within about 4 weeks, a crew of 8 came out to the house and Julio introduced me to the foreman and his assistant in case we had questions. By day 2 of the installation the job was completed. The turf does not have that "artificial look" and is so real looking that I had to caution my gardener not to mow it. In conclusion, I give Turf Exchange 5 stars for meeting and exceeding my expectations. read more

They do the bait and switch with their warranty. Salesman will tell you they will come out and fluff up the grass that has been matted down due to walking on it when ever that becomes an issue, but after you sign the contract you'll see that has changed to 1 year only so they would no longer honor that, I was on my own. Did research in the yard and found minimal 'in fill' in a very large area which is what caused the problem. Read your contract, watch out for these guys. read more

In a word, Turf Exchange is fabulous. They check all the boxes you think about when doing an artificial turf installation: 1. Meticulous workmanship -- Our installation was a tough one: very hilly, which makes it more difficult to get the turf to fit well with the ground. And beyond that, because we installed drip irrigation around the trees and under the turf, they had to contend with how to make sure we didn't see lumps from the irrigation tubing. Translation: a big challenge to get the turf to be perfect, which they did masterfully. And as for any concern that the seams may show, worry not. Their s-shaped seams make it impossible to see where the pieces are joined. I've attached a few pictures to this review so you can get a sense of how nice a job they did. 2. Choice -- They have lots of turfs, at various price points, from which to choose. But I urge you to look at Rincon, a turf exclusive to Turf Exchange and actually designed by them. It features a mix of two different shades of green blades and one yellowish shade (because natural grass is not all one color), plus a brown thatch at the base. The combination makes it the most natural-looking turf we saw from anyone and it's the one we chose. A day or so after the job was done, I even received a note from my neighbor, telling me how nice it looked! 3. Can-do Attitude -- Like any remodel, there were a few minor things we needed to fine-tune with the job. No problem at all--their attitude was always "whatever we need to do to make you happy." And they did that in spades. Everyone from Turf Exchange--Mitch (owner), Corey (his son), Emiliano (crew chief) and his colleagues on the team--were upbeat and accommodating from day one to the very end. 4. Job Completion -- They left the rest of the property in better shape than they found it. All the remnant material from the job was carted off, and they hosed down all our hardscape and even our plants to make sure everything looked fresh and clean. 5. Price -- Yes, price is always a consideration for home improvement. We had bids higher than Turf Exchange, and one that was a bit lower. But when we visited prior installations of theirs, and compared them to their competitors, we decided that what they were charging was very fair and well worth the price. If you get the sense that we're now big fans of Turf Exchange, you're right. Believe me, I did my homework when deciding whom to hire, but it's Turf Exchange that earned the A+! read more

Turf Exchange burned us bad. Yelp where is the negative stars button? Sent an unlicensed and uninsured sub contractor to install the turf. He saw I was a tradesman so apparently he presumed we are all unethical liars. He went on to say he pays his crew $100 cash per day and then collects receipts from shopping carts at Home Depot for write offs. No workers comp insurance, no general liability insurance and the stupidity to brag about it. They left golf ball sized rocks under the turf and we now have large sink holes as they never packed it properly. The owner got me to sign off on the work so they could get paid through the hero program. I did and they screwed us. They flattened one spot and removed maybe 30% of the rocks but then refused to come back citing a room addition and spa that we moved. Neither were anywhere near the issues we had with the turf. In 25 years of running a service company I have never seen a client get screwed the way this company punked us. For a few hundred bucks in labor they could have sent a crew to make it right. They refused. I guess by their ratings they do ok by most. But if your not happy good luck. Your out $15,000 because they lack the character to stand behind the complete clown THEY sent to our home. read more

After years of deteriorating lawn due to water rationing in hot months, I finally decided to spend the money to shore up my landscape and escape the unpredictability of future water restrictions and escalating rates. Turf Exchange was one is several companies I contacted to give me a bid, and by far the most responsive and reliable. Their rep Brad Halpern met with me the next day and spent 90 minutes in a very thorough and informative walk of the property and discussion of what me plans were. I was removing 5500 sq/ft of sod and replacing with 3400 sq/ft of turf and the layout was complicated: 16 separate turf areas of varying shapes, sizes and undulations. He was extremely helpful with suggestions based on his prior experiences, and despite several unavoidable delays due to weather, his team showed up early, worked harmoniously and professionally at a speed that was truly impressive. They adapted on the fly to a couple small changes I had made to the original plan, did everything we had agreed on as well as a couple small additional areas with left over material as they felt it would improve the overall appearance- and included it in the original price. The work was expertly choreographed, the property was left completely clean, and the completed project exceeded even my highest expectations. These guys are amazing! After getting 4 estimates, we went with Turf Exchange. They had a good selection and very fair pricing. Six men showed up, along with a huge dirt bin, heavy removal equipment and all the turf by 7:30 am. All arrived on time and knew what to do. Within 20 minutes of having the turf, weed barrier, and road base delivered, they went to work taking out our old lawn, capping sprinklers etc. The team worked almost non-stop, other than a quick lunch and some water breaks, for almost 10 hours. They were back the next day to complete the job for another 5 hours. Our yard looks incredible! My neighbors are all commenting on how great it looks. Although we had some issues initially with "supply chain" and ended up purchasing a different turf than we originally chose, we were happy with the product. After 6 months though I feel the turf could use some more fill as there are sections that are somewhat flat. The exchange workers also put in some decomposed granite and also bark in our planter beds. The granite has some issue with cracking which was addressed during final inspection but despite the company's acknowledgement that they did not provide enough bark to cover our planter beds completely, they failed to follow up in providing the additional product (even after several phone calls and offering to pay for the additional bark!) So all in all I would say the product is good but the customer service is lacking so be sure you are fully satisfied with the job before you pay in full. read more
