If you want to get some quick exercise and see some nature not too far away from the city, this might be the place. Located within one hour from NYC, they have easy (blue trail) to moderate (white trail) one hour loop trail. In case you still miss your home, some said you can see NYC skyline on top. We couldn't see it, alas maybe we need to get glasses. View itself from top are just allright in our opinion. Parking get filled fast.

Great place for a hike. Beautiful scenery once you reach top, very peaceful. You will see few people walking pass you with pets. They have few different colors marked on trees for different trails. Also have parking space (not a lot of parking space).

So need to get in shape? Hike Turkey Mt. It has I think 4 different trail for beginners to the die hard. Been on blue and white so far. Blue is the longest. Once up enjoy the view. The city, lakes or the mountains are just gorgeous. Park is very clean and even thou dogs arent allowed some people choose to hike with them. All so far were very friendly.

    A View from the Top.

I am so grateful that I got to spend most of my childhood at the Bedford Hills Memorial Park. My…read moregrandparents live really close by, and they have a membership card for the pool. I've also gotten to enjoy the playground as a kid with my parents and younger cousins and enjoying the view of the pond. I loved spending the day at the pool the other day. The weather was great, and I even got the chance to enjoy the snack bar, even though I got Taki dust in my eye. That hurt. The pool has always been a peaceful place, and I was even asked if I would like to try out for the local swim team a while back because the swim coach just happened to be there on the same day. Going to this park has always been one of the best highlights of Bedford Hills for me.

We love your (meticulously maintained) basketball court. We love your sweet little pondside location. We love that you're located right near the Metro North railway so we can watch trains go by and wave. Son #1 is in heaven when that happens. We love that we can all run around in the grass and not have to worry about stepping in geese poopie. Seriously -- high fives on that one. In short, we love you so, Bedford Park. You've got everything in one sweet little kiddie oasis. You make my little men shriek with delight...and who am I kidding..me too! :o)

I love that there's lots of green space to sit and relax and also a small playground for children. Taking the stairs up was more intense than I expected, but it's definitely worth the hike! The views from the top are beautiful! They also had a few pop up vendors which was nice too. Parking was easy and free, so you can't beat that.

Hiked up and across, ate the lunch we'd brought at one of the umbrella'ed tables near the playground, and then the skies opened up; drove back to Manhattan on an almost flooded Bronx River Parkway. Grandson back for a visit this year, wanted to go back! Zipcar got more expensive, so I followed the directions on their website using public transportation. DON'T! The website says take Metronorth to White Plains and then a Bee-line bus, #6, to the Dam Plaza. We found the bus stop, and the schedule said 11:43. Perfect, right? Not. 12:43 came and went. Other buses came and went. The #6 never showed up, so finally we took a taxi for $20.00. Took 10 minutes to get there. Better to take a train to Valhalla and walk the less than a mile or Uber for 8.95 or something like that. Watch the schedule for going back to Grand Central, because in the afternoon it seems to run just once an hour. Plan accordingly. Otherwise we had a good time.
