The trails have little bridges that help you get to the rest of them, but I've noticed there's a part of the trail that tends to always stay muddy. Also these trails lead you to a dead end and you just have to go back the way you came, but it's very beautiful nonetheless.

Baseball is stubborn though. It does not die. It mutates. Now the Thunder play in the MLB Draft League. This is not the big leagues. It is not even close. It is a proving ground for college kids and hopefuls trying to get noticed by scouts. The level of play is lower. Sometimes much lower. But baseball is still baseball, even when it is imperfect. Maybe especially then. The ballpark itself is still beautiful. You could sit anywhere and feel like royalty. The worst seat here would cost you a hundred dollars in a Major League park. In Trenton it costs less than a family trip to Burger King. Parking is five dollars. Cash only. I paid my five dollars and felt like I had tricked the universe. The concessions are better than they have to be. Case's Pork Roll. Colbie's Southern Kissed Chicken. Raccoon Saloon. Killarney's. Rita's Italian Ice. The names sound like a carnival, and in a way they are. The food is affordable, too, which feels like a misprint in America these days. Promotions are plentiful. Fireworks. Thirsty Thursdays with two-dollar drafts and three-dollar aluminum bottles. This is a land where inflation forgot to look. The bat dogs are still here. Dogs that run out and fetch bats. It feels like cheating at joy, like the universe is handing you a gift and refusing to charge extra for it. The truth is the product on the field is not what it used to be. You will not see future Yankees here anymore. But you will still see baseball, and you will see it for cheap, with fireworks and pork roll and dogs who think bat retrieval is their divine mission. Four stars. Because this is still a great night out for families who even casually enjoy the game. Baseball lives in Trenton, just in a different costume.

What a great place to hold a small softball tournament! With parking just across the street, an onsite concession stand, CLEAN permanent bathrooms, a great sound system, lights, a nicely manicured infield and outfield, 250' fences and both uncovered bleachers down the lines and covered seating behind the plate, this is one of the nicer places we've played that wasn't turf. I was truly glad to see that a city was willing to put money into a quality softball facility and not just a baseball facility that they could alter to use for softball. The field is a bit farther away than I'd like for a small softball tournament, but it's not TOO bad...only a little more than an hour from us. I only wish the girls would have walked away with a little hardware from this tournament, but it just wasn't meant to be. I haven't been in a batting cage in over 30 years at this point, but wanted my ten-year-old son to…read moreget some practice in for baseball season, so I found this place on Google and took him here on a Friday night. Nice people working here, decent sized shop with some ok merchandise, decent facilities. The majority of the batting cages you have to sign up for in advance which are primarily used by teams, but there are three batting cages in the back which are token-operated and do not require a reservation. They have bats and helmets for people to borrow. Little space outside of the cages so no room for practice swings. One token costs $1 and gets you ten pitches from the machine. I bought 20 tokens for my son and I. Unfortunately, the machine jammed constantly, and/or the token machine stole our tokens, so then you have to go back to the front to tell an employee, but there are only two employees and they're dealing with thirty customers at once so it takes time for them to come back and sort things out. The machine ate one of my last tokens and I couldn't even be bothered to go tell an employee again because I just wanted to leave. When it was working, the batting cages were fun and both my son and I enjoyed it. But because of the malfunctions we'll probably look for another batting cage in south Jersey before we come back here.
