We stopped by this dive bar on our recent trip to Tahoe to check out a local spot. It was our first time in the area and it seemed to have great reviews so we were excited to check it out for my sister's bachelorette weekend. The bartender (I didn't catch her name, but I wish I did) was absolutely amazing. She was so friendly and kind. We showed up dressed as Pitbull and his security so we definitely stood out, but she loved it and celebrated us and my sister. She made us feel welcomed and made it as fun of an experience as possible by trying to play a Pitbull song for us, but someone else skipped it. She gave us the last of the Jell-O shots which we greatly appreciated. She also invited us to return the next day to play Bingo at 3pm, but we couldn't make it. There's a music system (like a jukebox) where you can pay for songs you'd like to listen to. We paid for some songs that were more upbeat than the music that was playing when we arrived and it didn't seem to be well received by some of the other patrons. Others have the option to skip your songs (even though you pay for them). I personally had a blast and had great interactions with others in the bar, but others in my group had experiences that made them feel unwelcome by people in the bar so I deducted a couple stars from my review since it didn't seem to be inclusive. My sister was in the bathroom and overheard others saying negative things about our group so we called it a night shortly after that happened. I wish this place was a little more inclusive, but I would return just to visit with our bartender who was so welcoming to our group. read more

Walked into this very cool locals dive bar. The kind of place like Cheers, where everybody knows your name. Chatted up a few guys at the bar and listened to locals tell storys. Checked out this place by our house last night since our normal spot was closed and man are we happy we did! They had great happy hour drinks! We got the spicy cherry bourbon smash and it was delicious. Service was even more top notch! Emily was so sweet, quick with our order and engaged in conversation with us. Pretty great place to chill, grab some beer during happy hour, some peanuts, and play some bingo or billiards! It's located in a little plaza with plenty of parking, a kind of hole in the wall with a very friendly vibe. It's no wonder a local told me about this place! There are bingo nights on Tuesday and Saturday nights or so I've heard (I came on a Tuesday night, and there was indeed bingo!). As well as two Billiard/pool tables that you can play a game for $1 [to release the balls]. During happy hour (I was told it was M-F 4-7pm then 10pm-close), drinks are HALF OFF. We ordered two pints of icky IPA for only $7.50! WHAT CHEAPNESS! On Sundays you can get Bloody Mary & a Budweiser for $5 apparently. And you can ask for a slice of Grand Central Pizza for $3. This is also a place where you can throw your peanut shells on the ground. Free salted peanuts for everyone and there is also a small popcorn machine! My rating is strictly based on the Bloody Mary. Definitely liked the pepperonicini/carrot garnish, but for me, the BM mix was a little too heavy on the horseradish side. I did have more than one, so clearly they aren't bad! (Just not my favorite...) The bartender was friendly and made sure everyone had what they needed. The bar itself has 2 pool tables... Turn 3 is absolutely the perfect dive bar. I loved the atmosphere with multiple TVs, peanuts on the floor and a very liberal pour from the bar tender. Not a big fan. This is as much a review about the bar staff as it is the clientele. This review is heavily censored due to what I cannot repeat with good conscience. My buddies and I walked there from our cabin on a Saturday night. We stopped in front so my friends could smoke a cigarette and were watching the bar through the window. Meanwhile there's a guy inside shouting at the top of his lungs about "n-word loving f-words". "Are you an n-word loving f-word!?" he'd ask a patron. "Nope" the patron would say. "Are you an "N-word loving f-word"!? he'd ask the bartender, "hahah no way" the bartender said. Finally he asked a patron by the door "Are you an N-word loving F-word?" and the patron responded by saying "Just because I love me some black women doesn't make me an N-word loving F-word. That makes me a jungle raping hardcore cracker." The bar busted out in laughter. Bartender included. This went on for 10-15 minutes. Needless to say we did not enter the bar. I understand non-politically correct humor but this type of talk being shouted at the top of the patron's lungs was enough to make my two friends, both white males over 6'2" decide they wanted to drink elsewhere. I like dive bars a lot. In my experience this type of talk when shouted at the top of your lungs usually will get your ass kicked out of a bar but instead in this case the bartender participated. Maybe it was just the clientele that night but if you have any N-word friends/family that you love, or F-word friends/family, or better yet N-word F-word friends that you love don't support this place and don't bring them in. read more

Okay, here's the thing: I LOVE dive bars. I love them the way some people love puppies and baby seals. Or maybe the way some people love kimchi and ugly children. Take your pick. Turn 3 is (in my less than humble opinion) the best dive bar in Tahoe. It's small. It's dark. It's got peanuts all over the floor. It's got enough shite plastered on the walls to give you a migraine. It's got a pool table smack dab in the middle of the route to the bathroom, so going for a pee can be like running an obstacle course. And two words every dive bar needs: CHEAP. DRINKS. This is a fun little dive bar in Tahoe. Warning! Don't patronize this establishment if you have any form of a peanut allergy, you could go into anaphylaxis! We ran inside here for a scavenger hunt looking to buy a stranger a shot, and ended up having a great time! Our bartender was helping us with our list and asked if we wanted to have more fun and do a ski shot. I met a lady who I could buy a shot for and she was totally down to ski shot with us! The group she was with was really friendly and let us take a photo with them and their puppy. When we were finished up they invited us back for Bingo. Do not be afraid by the old men sitting at the bar who all know each other. It's the locals joint for locals only. But we'll let you stop by anyways. Pacman, a couple pool tables, and all the peanuts you can eat are here for your enjoyment. It's also the only good sports bar in town, with 6 full flatscreens. Owner is fabulous. Have been here a few times and she works the entire bar by herself. She makes her own bloody mary mix that she bottles and sells. She has a decent selection of beers (on tap and bottle), peanuts (throw the shells on the ground!) and popcorn for free. Bingo on Saturdays are sooooooo much fun!! She also has cup coozies, shirts, sweatshirts for sell. Lots of TV's and has Sunday funday specials. Get here early for good seats. Two pool tables and clean restrooms too.
