I ordered the hefeweizen, and it was perfectly refreshing after a long day of snowboarding. My husband got the POG kombucha, and we both ended up loving our drinks. The atmosphere is a huge standout too. There's a few tables for indoor seating, but the outdoor area is surrounded by tall forest trees, giving it a peaceful, tucked-away vibe and makes it a unique brewery atmosphere. They even have a few igloo-styled tents with heat lamps, which made it super cozy on a cooler day. I don't think I can say enough good things about the spot, but I'm going to try. This place is an absolute gem! We stumbled upon The Hangar after reading all the great reviews, and it did not disappoint! The owner was incredibly friendly and accommodating, even though there was a ticketed concert that night (the last one of their summer lineup), he still let us stay to grab a pizza and a beer. We were able to hang out on the patio with our two small dogs while we waited for the pizza spot to open. My husband ordered the Fifty-Fifty Blonde Ale from Truckee, which paired perfectly with the all-meat pizza from Rad Pizza - seriously delicious! The crust was thin, crisp, and loaded with fresh ingredients. We were hoping to stay for the start of the concert, but it got a little too chilly for us and the pups. Still, we can't say enough good things about the atmosphere. The patio lights, bocce ball courts, heaters, and fire pits make this outdoor space a no-brainer for a relaxed Tahoe hangout. We originally wanted to check out the igloos (I think they might have been put away for the concert), but now we have an even better excuse to come back. Visited the Hangar for a concert recently and I was very impressed! It's fun to have an outdoor concert venue, and this is a casual venue with great beers on tap and several food trucks. Despite being a sold out show it wasn't overly crowded, and they have tables throughout the venue and space where you can relax. My only complaint was for this particular show, people brought their lawn chairs which really kills the ambience of attending a concert with an upbeat band. I couldn't believe my eyes watching all these people sitting right in front of the stage while this band is performing and trying to get people to get up and move. I hope the Hangar learns from this and at least sections of a floor space or has a designated seating area not right in front of the stage. I would attend another concert here in the future regardless, and appreciate the new venue and event space in SLT! read more

The Hangar is a great spot to see a show! We saw Hollow Coves play here on a beautiful September evening and it was a true treat. Upon arrival, there was a line to grab drinks though if you venture a bit father into the Hangar on a show night there are some much shorter lines to grab a beverage. It's all beer and cider here. No wine or hard liquor that I could find. There were also a few food trucks that looked great but I didn't partake. The space itself is a great open air spot with yard games and plenty of turf for seating. There are lots of picnic tables as well. The venue is great for live music. It's small and they do a great job not overselling it. It's very intimate and you can get very close to the stage. I loved being able to see the band up close and the band had such great crowd interaction. Parking here is pretty easy even after their lot fills up. There is plenty of street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods. Go enjoy a show here! I highly recommend. read more

I came here for a concert last week with my friend and we had sucha good time. This is a true beer garden. There were three spots for beer. One inside that had tons of draft beers, seltzers and sours. There was one booth near the stage selling a couple beers and a seltzer and then one other tent selling just beer. They had a variety of food trucks during the show including a taco truck and pizza truck. The venue itself is so cute. It's not too big where you feel drowned out by people. Intimate and chill vibes. Lots of open area to sit or stand to watch the show. Bathrooms are either sanihuts or two inside the small bar area. I would definitely come back here for another show. So fun read more

Very clear the owner doesn't like kids or had too many bad experiences? Hard to tell, maybe both. I didn't notice it my first visit because I didn't go on the grass area. Staff was overall friendly, allowed us to taste before pouring. Alcohol Selection is about 95% beer and 5% seltzers or hard kombucha, they had 3 kinds to pick from. You can sit back and enjoy a beer while feeling like you're on vacation. It's really so great. It's also kid friendly. But be warned, only well behaved children allowed. Which really is to be expected. My parent pro tip for you is to bring games, coloring books or tablets with movies on them. It will be an enjoyable experience for everyone. It's essentially a restaurant, not a playground so your kids shouldn't be running around like wild animals. I say this as a parent of 2 children that are 6 and 9 and I have been going here every year for the last 4 years. So if I can do it, you can too! ;).
