She pulled up the file quickly and was able to speak knowledgeably about a pet she may not know personally, such really speaks to the entire office's notation habits. She offered to have the doctor look over the notes and call me back with any action items. But as someone who is just watching someone else's beloved animal, I am TERRIFIED I'm doing something wrong as a non cat owner and Sierra not only made me feel so much better, she made me feel like the whole office knows this pet and cares about Fat Kitty's well being. The staff at Companion Animal Clinic are helpful, knowledgeable, kind, compassionate, patient and I can tell they really do care about us and our babies. I won't trust another vet ever! It was close to 5PM, so we chose to wait for this clinic to open rather than driving to Portland or Scarborough. We arrived at 4:50 and waited outside the front door, which was locked. The receptionist was manning the desk and repeatedly clearly saw us through the glass doors, including making eye contact with my husband, but never came over to let us in, even though my husband was holding our dachshund, I was holding our three-month-old baby in her car seat, and it was 17 degrees and dark outside. At 4:57 the receptionist disappeared into the back and at 5:02 I finally called, a tech answered, apologized, and she rushed to let us in. As we were walking in, I heard the receptionist complaining, "it's only just 5:00 now." Nope. It was 5 after at that point, but more importantly, who leaves people with a sick dog and a baby out in the cold, especially if you're supposed to be in the animal CARE business?! Fortunately, the tech and the vet we worked with were terrific, and our dog is going to be fine. I really appreciated the tech's compassion and attention to detail, and the vet's candor and patience with questions (and the baby!). When we were checking out, a poor woman was dropping off her deceased bearded dragon for cremation. The receptionist couldn't have cared less. She was cold and dismissive and passed the box containing the body off to the tech carelessly, and loudly said "group cremation," in a completely empty tone, then charged the woman and said, "we're ready for Skippy" without even dismissing the other woman. The tech called out, "I'm sorry for your loss!" from the back as the woman left. My husband saw her crying in her car in the parking lot when he brought our dog out to the car. So, based on my limited experience, I'd say go here for good care, but prepare to be treated like a complete annoyance by the woman at the front desk.

I brought my pup in at 3 am because of crying most of the night. He does have a known UTI with struvite crystals and a urine pH of 9. At first she wanted to do an x ray and ultrasound to look for stones. Uhh. Ultrasound would've seen both. No need for the xray. I nicely suggested starting with the ultrasound. ANYTIME I tried at all to advocate for my pup, I got attitude and talked to as if I knew absolutely nothing. I also asked if she could prescribe something to lower the urinary pH, as that would be a double approach to help resolve the infection. She threw her hands up, claimed that my asking questions and seeking clarification was "abusive" and "she's not taking that at 3 am" It's basic infection cycle. Interrupt the cycle at as many points as you can, get quicker resolve. If you need emergent care, steer clear of this place. Go right to Portland. Like she suggested we should've. First time here, and absolutely will NEVER be back nor recommend ANYONE else. Imagine claiming someone's being abusive because they don't want to answer questions as to their thought process in the care of your animal. Absolutely insane

Never had to when I growing up and all of my cats were fine. Brought my cat here and they accused me of animal abuse and said they would adopt the cat from me. I was beyond insulted and stopped bringing my cats here. I brought them to another Vet and was told I didn't nothing wrong. Your cats should be able to keep their nails short by scratching posts etc, which I have, but sometimes it doesn't help. The new Vet made me feel at ease. My mother (sometimes she brought him to appt) and I were also accused of putting my Pug in a hot car because of the anxiety he would get going to the Vet each time. I always cool off the car before putting them in and know to never leave a dog or any animal in a hot car during a warm day. I get that you have to be aware of some Vet owners but we had been coming to this place for years. With all our cats and dogs. I'm glad I left and found Lisbon Road. They are fantastic!!

Dr. Zoe Albee did not want to provide antibiotics for one of the two dogs that has redness, irritation, and swelling in the gum line of the broken tooth.
