I have had multiple experiences when these containers are not clean inside (which is likely a health code violation). I can see how the container would be difficult to clean and easy for staff to miss BUT it is unsanitary to have food inside the creamer containers. Did not expect to LOVE this place so much. Fun and attentive waitstaff. Fresh squeezed OJ. The coffee (they just give you the whole carafe which is the way it should be) was 100% organic and delicious/strong. Plenty of water (again the whole pitcher - the way it should be). AND we tried all of the classics - fresh delicious eggs, PERFECT HOME FRIES, bomb avocado toast, and just look at the picture of the chocolate chip pancakes!! Something has happened to this place??? Great location, bright and airy decor, good menu - been here many times. That said, we will not be returning - suffered 'reverse discrimination' from an entirely African American staff - waited 15 min for a table, African American group (the same size as our) came in, had a 'quiet chat' to the staff and were immediately seated and served ahead of us. We waited a further 10 minutes to be seated and another 15 for our order. Extremely slow service!!!! This past weekend we headed to Turning Point for brunch. We were there at 8:06am - bright and early - and were able to be seated immediately. I hate to sound cliche, but first, coffee. My husband ordered their special Ice Coffee (it was on a menu insert) - the ice cubes were made from coffee so it didn't get watered down as you took your time to enjoy it. It definitely needed some simple syrup added to get his preferred amount of sweetness (which isn't a lot). I on the other hand had the NUTTY IRISHMAN. It was delicious - the hazelnut flavor was just right. I'm not a fan of the hazelnut garnish, mostly because wet nuts aren't that good and they just get in the way, but the drink itself was very good. Not sure it's worth the price, but it is my second time ordering it, so what do I know? Our server was a little on the slow side - we have a gut feeling it was his first day, but he was friendly and kind. It did take quite a bit of time to get our food, but once we left I think I realized why - they only open at 8am, so we were among their first customers. I ordered the classic benedict. The hollandaise sauce was pretty good and the eggs were cooked perfectly. I wasn't a fan of the virginia ham (it was a texture thing), but all in all it was a solid dish. I do wish the potatoes were cooked a little more - they come off as squishy instead of crispy. My husband had a basic omelet that he customized to his liking - he had no complaints other than he thought he may have accidentally gotten turkey sausage (oh the humanity). The kids meals are a bit overpriced for a breakfast, but they do have a good variety to choose from. Our kids had scrambled eggs and french toast "volcanoes" that we let them share. I wanted to like it so much -- in search for a morning breakfast spot -- but after five or six visits, I simply cannot will myself to see it as anything but the overpriced establishment it is. The complaint only begins there, however, as the food is mediocre, and the service among the worst I've experienced at any restaurant in that often the service is simply absent. Do not go here. There are many alternatives, such as Ardmore Station Cafe, Nudy's, etc... here's to hope the Turning Point finds a turning point or goes out of business -- we'll all be better for it. read more

Service in Bryn mawr is as bad as service in Hoboken. Seems like the owner/managers asks employees to be efficient so as to not waste (time/ electricity/etc) by. Effects to realize that they are losing business (through cancelled orders/etc) because they'd rather cook all of the bacon all at once rather than take care of the customers that are IN their restaurant already... Four out of five stars for the food, price, and variety! Four of us came to Turning Point on a rainy Saturday afternoon and the place was packed! We were told the wait would be about 20 minutes, but noticed a lot of empty tables that had not yet been cleared. The young staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, but the place was definitely bustling that day. The atmosphere and decor is straight out of a Mainline girl's Pinterest board. Very Cape Cod. I liked the bright and airiness to the place, I must say. We were seated at a table for four that was missing a chair...the hostess didn't seem to notice so I awkwardly borrowed one from a couple at a four person table nearby. Our waitress came over in no time and quickly sold us on the French press coffee, a true delight! I'm glad we gave in. The sugar rock candy that comes with each cup is a fun detail. I was really impressed with the variety of the menu and had a hard time choosing between dishes since they all sounded so enticing. I went for the Big Easy Benedict which I'd rate a solid 3.5 out of 5. The Creole seasoning was a bit heavy-handed for my palette, but I appreciated their boldness. The cornbread was soft and crumbly, and gave the dish a nice sweetness. They were one for two with the poached egg, which is a major bummer in my book. One was perfectly soft, with a runny yolk while the other was far too hard. And come to think of it, the chorizo was hard to find in the dish. I would have liked to see some more. Overall, it was an enjoyable and more adventurous dish for me, solidly executed and rounded out with a healthy side of fresh fruit. As we all know, any good brunch with friends needs a sweet for the table. We went with The King French toast, which left something to be desired by my estimation. The best French toast should be completely saturated in egg mixture so that the inside bread is also fluffy, like a souffle. I expected this from Turning Point, but instead this French toast was a bit closer to diner quality. Thick, yes. But only with browned sides, and a dry inside. The peanut butter cream cheese spread was a nice touch, but could have been a more indulgent portion. Overall, I have to say that the food was totally satisfying but not the best brunch I've had in the area. That being said, my stomach and wallet were both happy at the end of the meal. For its location, the prices are definitely more friendly to a student budget. The service was pleasant and the food was good enough to convince me to give them another shot sometime! read more

I love going out for breakfast, and my goal is to try all the spots I can around my home. After a yelp search, I decided this place would be the next place on my list to try. My family and I stopped in today for breakfast, and we could not have been happier with the food, the service, and the experience overall. I absolutely love pancakes, but often don't order them and opt for a healthier choice. But at Turning Point, you can order a flight of pancakes, allowing you to try a few different types, while still ordering something else! The three of us split the protein pancakes, the blueberry lemon, and the cinnamon roll. They were fantastic, my 1.5 year old loved them. I also ordered an omelet, and my husband a breakfast bowl with sweet potatoes. The food was delicious, and they serve large portions. They also leave a pot of coffee on the table, which I love! I hate bothering people for refills. We got there early and it was quiet, but started to fill up as we left. It's a great spot, you should try it! read more

This location is working with new staff, so patience is needed. For example, one of the cashiers only knew how to run a credit card and wasn't comfortable with cash for a breakfast of less than $20. The Wilbur skillet was OK but I wouldn't order for take out. The English muffin was barely toasted. The staff also forgot my coffee, which I waited a little longer to take with me. I think the food is pretty average which is why I give it three stars. I've never been super impressed with it and don't think it compares to other brunch places in the area like Nudy's. I came here with my husband, kids, and mother-in-law for brunch on my birthday. Maybe they were having an "off" day, or maybe our particular server just didn't want to be there. The service was so slow it was comical. It took 30 minutes to get our coffee and latte, which came out at the same time as our food (which is very odd for a brunch spot). The server said they were backed up with the coffee, but there were a lot of open tables and staff wandering around with no sense of urgency (I think they forgot about our coffee because other people who came in after us, received their coffee and food before we even got our coffee). The server did take the coffee off of our bill, which was why I'm giving this two stars and not one. For the food: the eggs benedict was very good but the potatoes were cold. My son's pancakes were burnt on one side and hard (not fluffy). I didn't want to send them back b/c we had already been waiting for so long. My other kid ordered the skillet which was supposed to come with an english muffin, but it didn't (we eventually asked for it and they brought it out). I'll probably stick to Sabrina's or other brunch spots in the future. read more

My husband and I went to turning point today for the first time and it's very cute decor-wise. Server was friendly and very patient. Coffee was good and my kale juice was on the sour side but I liked it. The food itself was ok- I had the huevos rancheros and my husband had the multigrain pancakes. The inside of the pancakes weren't cooked but had decent flavor. I unfortunately got food poisoning from the huevos rancheros. I know this because it's the only thing I've eaten in the last 20 hours and since then I've been sick multiple times. Bad experience. The best part about my breakfast here was the hot chocolate. Their drink menu is larger than the actual food menu and has lots of coffees, teas, frozen drinks, and hot chocolates. I got the s'mores hot chocolate and it was delicious. Other than that, it was terrible. I had the avocado toast, in which they obviously just threw some avocado in a blender and slapped it on bread. It was slimy and mushy and gross, covered with an ungodly amount of pepper. I ordered a side of bacon, which was maybe 2 and a half slices and charred. For $4. Attached a photo. They have the nerve to charge you $1.25 for each serving of syrup, what a rip off! My boyfriend got the salted caramel waffles, which he said were good, but a whopping $12.
