Katie was a great listener, providing resources and addressing my hesitations in an encouraging in a non-pushy manner. By the end of the event, we spoke again, and I finally decided, "Okay, I'll schedule an appointment." Katie mentioned that Turning Point had multiple office locations, convenient for both my work-from-home days and my office-based workdays. Open seven days a week, the practice allowed me to choose appointment times that best suited my busy schedule. Additionally, I could select any chiropractor I preferred. Since Dr. Austin had been so professional and insightful, I chose his office in Kaimuki, a location convenient for my in-office days. During my first visit, he was calming and helpful, and x-rays were taken to develop a personalized care plan based on my specific needs. The process was seamless, with the helpful staff verifying and double-checking my insurance coverage early in the process. Now that my initial treatment plan has been completed, I appreciate having the flexibility to use my remaining visits as needed for ongoing treatments or adjustments. I already feel welcome to return whenever necessary. I referred my daughter, though she remains a bit nervous for now. I've also recommended Turning Point to others, hoping they take advantage of the ease of booking appointments and the gentle, professional approach that everyone in this practice provides. They came to my workplace offering free catering and an evaluation. On the first visit they took an X-ray and had a general evaluation but on the second visit they covered more what I needed. They provided the timeline to alignment and cost which was about $15 with my HMSA insurance. Before this, I was struggling to stand long periods of time but now I hardly have much pain. Update: I have stopped going here after many frustrations with the new front end staff. The 2 ladies that were there previously every single time I went were FANTASTIC. Unfortunately the newer staff members were not. They were unfriendly, very cold and off putting and never seemed like they wanted to be there. The last straw for me, however was after receiving an actual call from one of them to remind me of an appointment the next day. Call itself was fine, but when i showed up the next day for my appointment they dropped the ball on me and said that i went over what insurance was going to cover and that the last 2 appointments were not covered by insurance and neither was today's visit. They told me that I was past due over $100 because of this. When i questioned why no one bothered to explain this to me, especially when they called the day prior to remind me of my appointment, i was met with blank stares. I told them i could only afford to pay what was due and had to cancel today's appointment as I didn't have enough to cover as i was only expecting to pay the copay or $20. The looks I got from them....they looked down on me as if I was homeless and that i somehow had offended them by being poor. One of them said she had to discuss it with Dr. Jessica before I could leave, which makes no sense. I told her to just cancel it and walked out, feeling embarassed and ashamed. No one should ever be made to feel this way if they can't afford treatment. Especially if its out of their control and you made the error in saying that Insurance was going to cover it all. Dr. Austin in Kaimuki location is great! He's my chiropractor and he helped me a lot with my low back pain and my numbness and tingling on my both hands and arms. Every session, he made sure that I am comfortable and he listened my concerns. My pain and my numbness are improving to a low level that it's almost gone! With few more treatments with him , i'm excited to get it done. I recommend Dr. Austin to anyone who suffer the same problems that I have. He's a good healer! I have to let everyone know my horrible experience with Turning Point. First, I tried calling at 1PM today to make an appointment. The phone just rang and rang with the same bad music and auto message every 30 seconds. After 10 minutes of waiting for someone to answer, a new message said to leave my name and number and someone would get back to me. A couple of minutes later, they did call me back. They asked what my condition was, then prescreened me by asking all my contact info. I asked if they took Medicare and AARP and they said yes. Then they explained that I needed to pay a $20 deposit in order to book my appointment at 4PM today. I did, and they then asked that I come in 15 minutes early. At 3:40, while I was enroute 5 minutes away, they called to tell me that they could not see me at 4 because the Chiropractor on staff at that time did not take Medicare and AARP, but they had another one at 6:30 that could. I'm sorry, but this was unacceptable to me and inexcusable, especially after driving already for 15 minutes in rush hour traffic. I will never go back to Turning Point again. They should have known before booking the appointment and taking my $20 deposit whether or not they took Medicare patients. This experience left a very bad impression on me and I felt I needed to share it with you all. read more

I must say, for an older looking building looking from the outside, I didn't expect the office inside to be so updated, and new. The girls at the front desk were supposed to tell me the first exam you pay for does not involve any treatment or adjustment. They have you look at sales videos which I did not watch telling me chiropractor I have been doing Chiropractic treatment for over 50 years and this was unnecessary I knew the benefits already. I've been going to a chiropractor before but 2020 was a blur and I moved to town and needed to find a new chiropractor around the area that will work with my schedule. I saw their ad in fb (heavy on my page) so I decided to call them. At first, the lady told me to call my insurance first to make sure its covered so I lost interest right there. Then after a week, I received a text and I told them that I have no time to call my insurance to check and the lady who texted me did it for me by just taking a picture of my insurance card. I have HMSA PPO with $100 deductible. After I reached my deductible (3 visits of paying $60 atfirst) it went down to about $13 per visit. I'm allowed 8 visits (but can be up to 12). Anyway, once it was all figured out, I chose this location, they have a lot of free parking, easy to locate, shared business building. The office is great with decor, and aesthetic is really appealing and modern. I met Dr. Lily and she was amazing. I love how she is engaged and full of energy even if I'm her first patient in the morning. She does TENS first on my muscles, the hypervolt machine, then the adjustments. It's perfect since I go to her clinic after my work-out. I only have about 4 treatments with her but I felt like my back has improved and I became more aware of my posture and proper form when I'm working out.
