So I've been twice and every time I have just been treated so wonderful by the crew here. The people here seem to love what they are doing. The roasters talk casually to regulars and new patrons. I ask questions at the register and they answer and give insight to what I might enjoy. The first time I came during closing unknowingly. They still let me try the cold brew and make a to go order. I didn't want to put them out. I didn't catch his name but the guy cleaning up was so helpful and let me and my two friends grab the nitro cold brew to go. So when in the area I definitely made it out during hours to try the side car. A fun coffee idea especially if you feeling like being super caffeinated. That was my plan! Lol the inside and out is super comfortable and I was able to sit out with my friend to catch up with her pup. I highly recommend stopping by this great local spot. I plan on buying some beans for home on my next visit.

Another positive coffee experience! Visited this place on our way to Tiny Greenhouse at Brick and we enjoyed being caffeinated here lol We love that they have their own parking space and there's lots of it! My husband enjoys cycling and he mentioned he liked that they have bike stands outside too so its perfect for bikers/cyclists who would love to stop by here. For our drinks we got a latte and cappucinno and both were very good. May be hard to tell which one is which but as soon as we figured which one had more foam we were good lol the latte art was a big bonus for us. We were so impressed by it. A little bubbly but otherwise the art was beautiful and detailed. The indoor setup was also warm and cozy. Really a nice place to spend some time and chill. However they close early at 12nn. We did not feel rushed though and all the staff who were there that day were friendly and polite. Would love to visit again if we're ever around the area.

Walked over for a post lunch coffee. The gal at the counter was nice and helpful with our order. The space is spacious with lots of places to sit and enjoy coffee/bites/sweets solo or with friends. They coffee roast was pretty good, biscotti was tasty and the vibe is welcoming.

Went here twice within the past two days so ya, I'd say we were impressed. The first time I got an iced coconut latte. It was good, but didn't have strong flavor, so if you like sweeter or strong flavors, you may want to ask for more. The vanilla which my mom and sister got was also pretty tame. Today I tried one of their many pour over options aaand wow, that's the star here. I had the Papua New Guinea, and slurped it down without any cream or sugar - deeelish! Shop has very cool vibes, and the set up is nice and open. Unfortunately, the baristas weren't wearing masks, but otherwise, this place is as good as it gets!

Cute little coffeehouse in Belmar. Took my girlfriend here and we both got the cold brew coffee. It was chocolatey at first with low acidity then turned more acidic towards the end. We also both got chocolate scones which were amazing! I suggest buying the 32 oz growler as you can refill it for $8 plus tax whenever you're finished with it! read more

Holy cow!! This place is amazing!! I am so lucky to live so close!! I recommend everything but the cold brew is the best I have ever had. The pour over selection is great and most all is roasted in house. This place is so much better than the chains and Rook. Try the awesome pastries, the almond croissant are my favorite. LOVE THIS PLACE!! read more

This place is amazing!!! I used to like Dunkin Donuts coffee. Now it tastes like dirty water compared to the coffee here. Treat yourself to a fresh pour over! Sooooo good. You can actually taste different notes in the coffee. I like Columbian. The regular coffee is awesome too. They have some muffins, bagels, etc. Wish they would expand their food offering a bit bc I would love to meet friends here for breakfast or lunch. read more

We like coming here. Coffee and lattes are the best around. We would love if they brought hot breakfast items like egg sandwiches to their menu because their food offerings are very limited. But did I mention you can't find a better cup of coffee?? Love the atmosphere here and the smell of fresh roasted coffee beans from the coffee roaster in the back. Great cold brew--it doesn't have the typical, bitter bite that most cold brews have. There's a nice ambiance as well. Its a nice place to study, chat with a friend, or get a good cup of coffee. read more

I've been waiting for a local coffee place to open up forever, and Turnstile Coffee Bar does not disappoint. It's got great coffee, delicious desserts, but more than that a terrific atmosphere and excellent staff. This place has some of the best coffee I've had. They serve Stumptown but the Turnstile Coffee is even better. I don't get in there quite as often as I would like, but it's a treat every single time. I can't recommend this place enough. read more

I've had a lot of coffee in my time, and consider myself a self-admitted coffee-snob, and this is hands down the best coffee I've ever had in my life. I've had everything they have to offer and haven't been disappointed once. In fact, my expectations have been well exceeded every time. I didn't expect to come upon such gorgeous place serving delicious brewed by hand coffee in the middle of NJ. I came here every day during our beach vacation, and now when I am back in the city I miss their coffee! This place is just great - comfortable, spacious, beautifully decorated and owners are super nice. If you like coffee and don't want to settle for crappy cup while on vacation - this hidden gem must be discovered. read more

Great place. Coffee, espresso, service, atmosphere and price are all wonderful. Especially for NJ. I use to work in NY and had a few special coffee locations. It is nice to have the NY quality and atmosphere in NJ. Sometimes I grab coffee or espresso to go just for a break or lift from the work day. When I have the time it is very comfortable just to hang out. Staff and owner are very nice and it has a real sense of community. I highly recommend it. read more

Great place to get a fantastic cup of fresh roasted coffee, plus the computer in and hang out. I am a bit of a coffee snob and I drink my coffee black so it is very easy to distinguish good and bad coffee. Everyone working is smiling and very friendly. Free wifi and comfortable. Mike and his crew at Turnstile are true coffee enthusiasts. They have traveled to far reaches of the world to bring the finest beans to the Jersey Shore. Today was my first time ever going to turnstile coffee and I've been in spring lake for about 4 years now and this is the best coffee ever!!!!!!! Everybody is extremely helpful and very polite! The price is similar to Starbucks but the quality of turnstile doesn't even compare to Starbucks!! Starbucks which was my favorite is now the k-mart of coffee places when in comparison to turnstile. The atmosphere is also very well done it feels cozy and welcoming. I have a very sensitive stomach to coffee and turnstile coffee is so fresh it hasn't bothered me at all!! Thank you turnstile coffee company and staff for the wonderful experience! You have just gained a lifetime customer! read more

Turnstile Coffee Roasters is the result of a two-year discovery of specialty coffee. The term 'specialty coffee' refers to a niche market in the coffee industry that focuses on a higher quality coffee than what is typically available in most grocery stores, cafes, and restaurants. Specialty coffee is also the resulting product. It's coffee that is special in the way it's grown and special in the way it's processed, roasted, prepared and presented. And most important, specialty coffee is special in the way it tastes. The flavors, aromas, and body in specialty coffee are more pleasant and intense than what you would find in other coffee that we are typically exposed to as consumers.

They were barely half full and the noise was not extremely loud. I had the New England clam chowder and as usual it was a great start to the meal. Plenty of clams and potatos in a creamy white sauce. To start the meal they also provided bread sticks with sesame seeds which is a real nice alternative to dinner rolls. With the sticks they also providing a dipping sauce that really tasted great. This the only place I can remember having breadsticks during dinner and loved it. For dinner I had stuffed flounder with rice and vegetables. The fish was prepared real well and came with plenty of crabmeat and stuffing. Inside it was real moist and tasted great. Along with that was rice and mixed vegetables. In the restaraunt the vegetables were a bit harder then I would prefer but when I reheated the meal at home they were perfect. But if you you are an al dente vegetable they would be fine for you. My wife picked something off the specials of the day. Shrimp, Mahi, broccoli, mushrooms, pine nuts all over rice. She felt this was a great meal and would definitely get it again. It was a nice blend of a bunch of tastes and textures, and the pine nuts are always a great addition to a meal. The taproom is on another level as well. One might say it resembles a millennial hipster fever dream, but being a millennial myself I say it is incredibly well thought out and designed. Housed in a former manufacturing facility for a company that made military telecommunications equipment, there are so many different spaces all under one roof. A bar in the front room and a bar in the back room. A small 21+ lounge with couches in the front, and a giant 21+ "sports zone" with three giant TV's in the back. Three coolers for beer to go. A large merch area. High top tables. Regular tables. Immaculate bathrooms. This place has it all. My girlfriend and I came out on a Saturday afternoon when the place was packed with families and their kids. There was a toddler in the small 21+ lounge and a baby in the sports zone, and only two people pouring beers so they were unable to notice and do anything about it. We don't mind kids in breweries but be advised if that isn't your thing. To the beer: according to their website, they specialize in hoppy beers. There were 13 beers on tap (with some being slight variations of each other). One lager, four stouts, and the rest IPAs. They don't do flights but will pour you two sample sizes at a time, and you'll need those sample sizes for most beers because the ABV will knock you off your feet. I love IPAs and I can easily say they knocked these out of the park. The standout to me was the Birdie Putt, which they didn't have available in cans to go, so we got a four pack of the Ground Rule Triple instead. Founder Jeff Baker spent years honing his brewing skills in his garage before opening the brewery in 2023, and his dedication and passion really show in all of the beers. We live over an hour away, but we will definitely make the pilgrimage back sometime soon.

I had to have gone at least 8 times already and I don't know how I've yet to leave a review. The tea room transforms you to another place with the rotating themes (Harry Potter, Wicked, Witch Black Hat Society, Peter Rabbit to name a few) and refreshing takes on classic teas & baked goods. Tea is never ending and it tastes divine, always freshly brewed at your table upon ordering. Ever tea cup is unique and every theme hosted has a pre-set menu and the staff are always knowledgeable about the tea served and proactive about dietary restrictions or allergies. The owner also comes out during every event to greet and thank her customers. While it is not the cheapest option, is does offer a unique experience. Highly recommend for a friends and family alike. Go support a small local woman owned business!

Came here yesterday for the annual Belmar Seafood Fest. We come early, order all our food, put it…read moreon ice, and then go to Klein's for their happy hour and usually order sushi (pretty good) and drinks ($7/$9 sushi and Burger sliders, waffle and other fries $4), $6 well drinks $7 house wines.) After extending our stay to enjoy the view, with one more drink each, I wanted to check this place out. The not so friendly female bartender advised me there was a private party on the first floor and to go upstairs by stairs or elevator. Okay. So, anyway, I notice in the elevator there's a 3rd floor (roof top) and wanting to prolong our day out, I say, hold the elevator while I take peek on the rooftop venue. Very inviting, so we go to the rooftop, not crowded, and the bartender was fairly quick to take my beer order. I like IPA's and had a hazy, which she suggested. We sit across from a couple on the couch. I decide on lobster roll sliders. I have a feeling it'll take forever for a server to approach, so I order at the bar and point to where we're sitting and pay in advance. The food comes quickly and I have my cash tip ready and the server very sweetly accepted it. The bread was delicious. Not so much lobster, but the bread and combo made it very tasty. $20 for 6. I wouldn't buy if hungry, but it was a decent appetizer, if a bit pricey, during these crazy times and crazy prices we're all experiencing now Our companions (we were sitting in one of the couch area conversational pits) mentioned his partner was unaware he was paying $17 a pop for a glass of white wine, and had just plunked down $34 for two barely half glasses of wine. Um, no. My beer was the usual expected price. The lobster sliders were on soft, tender, fresh mini rolls that were slightly sweet, like "Hawaiian" bread. Decently priced beer. Enjoyable views. And I took special notice that the barriers were slightly above waist high (I'm 5'6") with plenty of space between the barriers and the ground below - just in case your drunk a* decides you can fly. Lol! Good choice! Nice views. Bathroom was clean, but I can imagine the nightmare when packed, as there were only two unisex bathrooms. The Xtra levels would, hopefully take up any slack. A lot of beer houses do not serve food in NJ, so that's a plus. I would definitely check this place out again or go the first time, especially with a date!

I am a coffee-holic and well traveled,frequenting coffee/tea boutique from NJ to Israel. I can honestly this is the best coffee I've ever had.Full bodied flavor,smooth as silk,goes down like nectar.There are a few other shops that are close,i would put Starbucks 2nd. My sweetheart loves Chai and echoes my recommendation. Stopped by Rook only once,coffee was ok,but when i mentioned tea,they snooped me,so i never went back. We experience these boutique's together,she doesn't drink coffee,so their out. Turnstiles brews great tasting coffee's from many countries.They were the 1st around to do "cold brew" The counter help is always professional. The owners did a meticulous job of renovating the entire building very tastefully. I admire there sense of detail right down to the furnishings. They also grind & press right there. Great place to hang out with friends/family,meet for business or have a gathering... A coffee toast to my favorite coffee space...it's well worth traveling to & i'm glad to see business is still growing. read more

Finally found the page for this business. I've visited there a few weeks back when I was visiting my grandmother. Loving GOOD coffee (I've been roasting my own coffee for over 10 years - over 100 pounds a year), I was so impressed. Their cups are all hand poured; the equipment they sell for home brewing is all top notch. And they sell not only the coffee they roost there (which is excellent), but they also sell other local roaster's coffees if they deem the quality to be better than their own. They even have cold brewed coffee on tap! If they were closer, they would be my roaster and I wouldn't have to roast my own! I was also impressed how busy they were with local folks after the prime season ended. read more

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a cup of coffee, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience. The coffee was truly exceptional--rich, full-bodied, and brewed to perfection. You can tell they take great pride in their craft, as every sip was a delightful burst of flavour. If I could rate this place 8 out of 5 stars, I absolutely would. The first extra star is for the atmosphere--warm, welcoming, and filled with the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee. It's the perfect spot for a lazy weekend morning. The second extra star is for the coffee itself. Forget Starbucks and the big chains--this is the real deal. Bold, flavorful, and expertly crafted. And the third extra star? That goes to the avocado toast. Simply phenomenal. No words can do it justice--just try it. I LOVE this place! It's inviting, friendly and serve fantastic coffee. I spent almost two hours here drinking coffee and getting my work done before hitting the beach. Turnstile Coffee is everything you would want and expect in a local cafe. Bonus: They have the poem Desiderata hanging on the wall - one of my all time favorites. A good sign about the culture of this small business gem. I highly recommend stopping in for coffee and one of their delicious scones or muffins. read more

Local own and family run. This is the owner's retirement passion and his two daughters also work here. The quality of coffee is superb. They roast their own beans plus they carry 1-2 coffees from micro rosters (they had Stumptown when I was in). They offer the usual espresso drinks (cappuccino, latte, etc) along with brewed coffee, pour over (they had four varieties) and cold brew coffee. The space is very relaxing and inviting. read more
