Unfortunately my tooth could not be saved , and I'm glad Dr Vu told me straight instead of reeming me for a root canal that won't last 6 months. Im writing this review still with gauze in my mouth and Im raving about Dr Tu's Dental to all my family and friends. She really does have "Golden hands"! Leslie the dental hygienist is just as great!!! Thanks again and again! Second visit: I had to go back for a deep cleaning and although I was a nervous wreck, Dr Tu and Leslie made me relax and really gave me VIP treatment! They took the time to explain the whole process and before I knew it, I walked out with clean white teeth! I love this place! Take my word of mouth experience. I have been here for a tooth bonding and a root canal, I'll be coming back to have all my other dental care done here. Dr. Vu is so sweet! She takes the time to make sure you are 100% comfortable. She will talk to you and treat you as if you grew up together your whole life, which I personally like! Other places are usually worn out with uptight receptionists, stressed out dentists, and cranky patients. Trust me - I've had past, uneasy experiences where I walked out from a dental clinic in even more anxiety and stress. Tu's Dental is truly a refreshing breath of air. Dr. Tu and Leslie (dental assistant) were nothing but genuine, friendly, and most importantly - professional. They took their time to hear my story and made me feel well taken care of in their humble office. Dr. Tu is not a specialist in braces or TMJ but still gave me her perspectives on my conditions. During my conversation with Dr. Tu, I felt like there was an open dialogue of mutual understanding and respect. I was able to voice my concerns and ask any questions without reservations. She was very communicative with her limitations and breadth of knowledge. If she knows something, then she knows. If she doesn't know something, then she doesn't. It's easy for any doctor to make a buck. Personally speaking - I am biased towards doctors who only have private practices and don't accept any medical insurances. If you want to make a quick buck, please do society a favor and go study finance or something at Wharton/Booth/Haas, etc. The American health system itself is also to blame, sure. A doctor provides services because he/she genuinely cares about making people feel better and understands different hardships that people go through - whether it's physical and/or mental. Period. And this is why Dr. Tu offers different payment methods to ease your level of stress and ultimately - treat you. At large - this is a heartwarming example of building a community by igniting hope one by one. Found a lovely dental clinic just around the corner from my home! Dr. Vu is a skilled dentist and different from any other dentist I've been to. She takes the effort to go all the way out to know you as a person and going to the dentist just becomes a fun experience. She practices gentle dentistry just like what her clinic front says and my teeth cleaning process was seamless and painless; it was done without me even realizing it. She makes dental office visits easy and enjoyable. I don't think there's anything about dentistry to fear about if you are being taken care of by her and she has this ability to melt your anxieties (Coupled with the fact that she has cute decor filled with turquoise colored fluffy pillows, nice pictures and music video on large screen makes it even more relaxing and homely). I also think that in order to have the best care, you need to have a doctor whom not only listens to your concerns but someone you can identify with, relate to and be totally comfortable with. I was very hesitant about coming here but also curious because I received a advertisement postcard in the mail. When I arrived my fear vanished. Everything looked brand new and I truly enjoyed the decor setup she had in the waiting room area. I was immediately greeted by the Doctor. I waited no more than 5 minutes before going into the back and getting my x-rays done. Each room is equipped with a TV where you can watch Netflix or listen to your desired music selection. She explains everything they were going to do and why. Her assistant was very gentle while placing the X-ray tools in my mouth. I loved the doctors personality. She really loves her profession and it shows while she treats her patients. I was ecstatic when she said I HAD NO CAVITIES!! Yey! She then proceeded to complete my cleaning. One thing I have never experienced before was actually getting my teeth flossed. She gave me some tips on how to use the floss and how to avoid any pain. Overall, Id recommend this place out. This was my first time coming here and I felt very welcomed by all of the staff members. Wow Dr. Tu and her staff were so helpful and thorough with me. The staff was very gentle with X-rays and procedures, and explained everything I was looking at. Everyone was so accommodating to all of my needs and showed me which procedure would work best for me. I had a slight emergency with my teeth and my insurance, and they still stayed afterwards to help me find the best care! I stumbled upon Dr. Vu's practice while yelping for dentists around the Bensonhurst area. Although my insurance plan was out-of-network, I decided to stop by any way since after reading some of these great reviews. After all, I would much rather spend a bit more money with someone that is professional and does great work. I was not disappointed at all; Her clinic is beautifully furnished and pristine. Dr. Vu happily greeted me and told me the pricing, which was quite reasonable. I was brought in to get the necessary work immediately. She offered me suggestions, but never pushed any procedure upon me. Most importantly, she never made me feel uncomfortable. Growing up, I had a dentist that would continuously chastise my sisters and I whenever we came in with cavities, causing me to circumvent dental visits. However, Dr. Vu was the complete opposite, she was understanding, but gave you suggestions on tooth care. She and her dental hygienist Leslie were extremely gentle and really kind, always making sure I was alright. I was done in no time, and am extremely satisfied with the result. I was recommended to come to this clinic by a friend. Dr. Vu isn't your typical dentist who asks other assistants to clean your teeth while she's off doing her own thing. She does all the teeth cleaning herself and she has a very vivid and fun personality. Found this place on yelp with good reviews and needed something same day as I was flying out. At first they told me that regular cleaning would be 150$ with X-ray and cleaning. When they finally took the X-ray they told me I needed deep cleaning which was now up to 1000$. The only refund they gave me was a 50$ for not doing the cleaning. Complete ripoff, I would not recommend this place to anyone at all. It's just a way for them to get more money from me Update: I have consulted with another dentist and even with the deep cleaning it would only be 400$. I was looking for a dentist around my area on zocdoc and Tu's Dental came up. After reading reviews on Yelp, I made an appointment for my dental cleaning with Dr Vu just 2 days prior. I was greeted by Tamara at the front desk. She was lovely to talk to while I waited to be called in. Lesley brought me in and did my x-rays. She has great bedside manners. She explained everything she did and made sure I was comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised that the x-ray lead aprons included thyroid collars. Prior dental offices I've been to never had these. Definitely a plus in my book! Dr. Vu looked over and explained my x-rays. She answered all my questions. She is the sweetest dentist I've ever been to and also has excellent bedside manners. Been looking for a neighborhood dentist and found it! Great experience and super friendly staff. I didn't feel rushed or pressured to do any cosmetics for my teeth. It was mostly about how I felt and where the discomfort was and why I was there. I had a wisdom tooth extraction done and I normally hate those but Dr Vu made it easy and pretty much painless. It was quicker than I expected and that's always a plus. She doesn't normally do tooth extractions but mine was simple based on the X-ray. Im very hesitant to see a dentist due to my anxiety. Made a appt with Dr. Tu through Zocdoc.com after seeing good reviews and ratings. Came in feeling nervous since I knew that I needed a lot of dental work to be done for my teeth. Once seated and getting my x-ray done, Dr Vu was very gentle explained to me throughout the procedure what was happening. Like everyone else here, I had a wonderful experience at Dr. Tu's office. The moment I entered the door, she and Leslie made me feel welcome (To my surprise, Dr. Tu greeted me by my name, even though it was the first time I've ever visited the office). I was feeling a strange pressure/sensitivity in one of my tooth and I was worried it would be a cavity/infection. Unfortunately my usual dentist didn't have any availability for the next several weeks, so my boyfriend suggested Dr. Tu's office because he had a great experience with them as well. Since I was due a cleaning, I thought I could get both a cleaning and my tooth checked out in one appointment. But this year was a tough year for my teeth. I had to get a root canal redone earlier this year, and I spent a lot on dental expenses, which maxed out my insurance. Dr. Tu and Leslie were so kind and upfront and suggested I get my cleaning in January instead when my insurance kicks in again. And for this appointment, they would do a free emergency quick check up on the tooth that was bothering me. Their logic was that, why charge $$$ for a 2-5 minute consultation? I have been to several dentists in my lifetime and this was the first time I've encountered dentist professionals like Dr. Tu and Leslie's. Their honesty was a breath of fresh air. Throughout my entire visit with them, it was pretty obvious to me that they really care about their patients and run a business based on the interest of their patients. I came to this dental office after listening to my sister's great experience. Dr. Vu and Lesley were very friendly, nice and patient. They listened to me and answered my concerns. Less chit chatting/less potty mouthing...like don't use the word "shit" when there are clients in the office. Dr Tu clinic was amazing. She just opened her clinic a few days ago after I visited her. She welcomed me with a big heart warming smile and it felt like we've known each other for so long. The place also felt like you're in a really nice hotel since everything was new, also her equipments that she used on me! Anyhow, I only stayed for an hour to take care of a dental issue, which is I needed a filling for a chipped tooth. She did some xrays and explained everything clearly about my dental problem. She treated me and I was onfident that I wont feel any pain since that tooth was sensitive. Dr Tu and her assistant was great, professional and compassionate to my needs, pain and discomfort.
