I liked this spa a few years back, but lately not so much for different reasons but this is the latest. The "manager" who hangs out in the front checking guests in talks very loudly which doesn't add much to your tranquillity while waiting in the lobby. During the massage, there was banging going on on the floor above me. It sounded like someone was moving boxes and people walking. I can remember hearing noises multiple times while I was there in the past as well. This detracts from the peaceful calm you hope to enjoy during the massage. read more

We were a party of four. I would like to say the masseuse that each of us were given were excellent. They were indeed some of the best masseuses we have had in the Southeast. The Tuscany team at the front desk was very unprofessional on 11/29/24 at 9:30 a.m. There were many things that were unprofessional and unkind that happen that morning but what I took offense to most was not being offered the use of the women locker/change room. We thought that you were a small facility that didn't have this amenity. It was only after we were leaving we realized that there were other clients with robes on sitting in the waiting room that there was a women change room. Tuscany is under repair currently. They were forced to renovate after pipes busted. Thankfully, this isn't slowing them down from providing services still. I was able to schedule a sixty minute deep tissue massage by Shaq. She was extremely punctual and professional. She brought here massage table, speakers for soothing music, and oils. It felt like I was back at the Tuscany Spa. I highly recommend and am thankful I was able to schedule an appointment the day before because my neck and back were killing me! read more

The prenatal utilizes a cushion to allow the client to lie prone with their belly on top of a large donut hole. It was comfortable. Tuscany was a busy place last Saturday, but the staff handled it very well. I had an appointment along with my sister and a friend. We arrived a bit early and the staff was so pleasant. They took us to the waiting area and offered us coffee and tea. I had tea and waited for just a few minutes. They must have a large staff because about six people walked in after us, but everyone was taken immediately to receive their spa services. The space is nice and does give off a vibe of an Italian villa with an outdoor patio, upstairs, downstairs and stone accents. As you walk in, the spa also has lots of jewelry that is for sale. I'm not sure who this jewelry is made by, it looked like various designers, but all very nice and affordable. The services: I got a 1-hour massage and so did my friend. My sister got a facial and a 30 minutes massage. I really enjoyed the massage and the vibe of the room. Very relaxing. My masseuse was excellent, she asked about problem areas and proceeded to give me an awesome massage. Everyone enjoyed the services. We had one that feel asleep and another who talked about how smooth her face felt. A+ Plenty of parking. Easy to find. Friendly staff. Appointments can be made by phone only. The thing that gets me every-time I go is the religion.....oh god literally. I understand we are in the south and people are religious and very Jesusy but it has no place in a spa. I came here this morning for a couples massage. I had read other reviews that the place was somewhat dated and the decor was somewhat questionable, so I went in with an open mind. At first glance, it is a hodgepodge of various items. The entrance is filled with local artisan jewelry mixed with 90s Tuscan traditional furnishings. The carpet could definitely be replaced with wood flooring to modernize the facility, as it is stained and dirtied. We were taken upstairs to our massage room, which goes through the manicure salon---a little strange. I crave an edgy and modern spa, so I figured this massage better be worth my time and money. I was skeptical. But, I must say that my massage and my husband's did not disappoint. We had a 60 minute full body massage for $140 dollars, which was very reasonable. My massage therapist was excellent, with strong hands. She took her time and made sure I was comfortable. My husband was really tight and his massage therapist did different types of techniques from mine, which I thought was great---they clearly know their trade and really cater to the client's needs. Once finished, they provide you with a small ice cold bottle of water---yum. My husband said that out of all the massages he has received, this massage therapist was the best in dealing with his privates. Other places have asked him to move it, or moved it awkwardly, but at Tuscany, they did it as part of moving the sheet. So, for gentlemen with concerns---don't have them. Overall, the massage was awesome and my husband and I left feeling fantastic. And while the decor is not up to my standards, it is not surprising for Augusta, GA. My husband and I got a couples massage here for our anniversary. We enjoyed it however the staff were weird. Waiting for our appointment, we were approached in the waiting room by two of the women on staff who didn't say anything and just stared at us until we said hello to them - no "Hi I'm ____ and I'll be your masseuse today." Weird. After our massage we asked if we could use the tub that was in our room and the masseuse said no because it has to be booked in advance. Ok, make sense. So we change back into our clothes and start to leave but she pulls us into the sauna room and gives us like a 15 min speech about how we could use the sauna if we book it ahead of time...which wasn't really what we wanted anyways and we were just ready to leave so it was also weird. read more

My husband surprised me with a half day at the spa for my birthday. The atmosphere was perfect! As soon as I walked in, it felt as though I was transported to a quaint retreat or exclusive resort. Every one of my senses were welcomed with tranquility. I enjoyed a 30 minute facial, 45 minutes in the hydro-tub with essential oils, an hour massage, and an hour body scrub and body wrap! It was amazing! All of the products that were used were organic and available for purchase. They also provided a full lunch/dinner and water after every session. When we first arrived to the area this summer (2010), my husband found this spa and booked a prenatal massage for me. It was so fantastic! Relaxing, refreshing...just what I needed. I haven't made it back, but I'm going just as soon as I can. I want to try out their mani/pedis, too! And now that I've had the baby, a "real" massage! They also offer a sort of "frequent flyer" thing where if you pay a certain amount for a year, you get a percentage off their services, AND (this is the cool part) if they get a cancellation for a service you usually have, they'll call you and you can get an even bigger discount on it just for filling the hole! I was in dire need of some rest and relaxation so decided to go to Tuscany. I was so disappointed in the place, it really needs a renovation. First there are so many items all over the place you don't feel like you're in a spa. I am not interested in purchasing jewelry or stuffed animals when I come to a spa. Second the receptionist and other women gathering at the front desk are not spa voices was very distracting not attentive. I was shown to the dressing room and given a very well worn robe and slippers that were 10 sizes too big for me. You could obviously see and the attendant could've cared less. The dressing rooms are well worn showing signs of stains and other wear and tear which could be touched up. Seems as if the owners have left this place and moved on to other things. I first got the soak and scrub which was great the Hydro tub and the woman did an excellent job! She was very polite and offered me water several times took the time to check on me I was very impressed. So that was over she took me to a room to massage chairs to wait for my massage. This room was crammed it had a Keurig coffee machine which definitely need to be wiped down there were stains all over the place, side table broken, etc. This is some thing I expect to see when I go for a manicure for $30. Not when I'm paying $200 for a massage and hydro soak. my massage which was very nice it was a good massage. I would expect the massage therapist to walk around the table not roll in the chair. Not relaxing at all. Also the person doing the massage was changed and nobody let me know which was no big deal. Except if you are regular customer and have a favorite person then that would be common spa etiquette. Overall there are a lot of things that need to be fixed in the spa,doors are squeaking,slamming,people do not talk in spa voices, replace with new robes and slippers need to fit,dressing rooms need to be cleaned of stains. Receptionists need to be more tentative to customers instead of gossiping among themselves when customers can hear. I had a horrible neck kink that rendered me incapable of working. My doctor recommended I get a massage to relieve the tension and help the muscles release. My therapist was Ashley and she is outstanding! Here is a breakdown of my trip: Reception: As I hobbled into the spa, the receptionist that greeted me was very pleasant and most helpful. There was a 45 min. wait but I wasn't going anywhere in the condition I was in and the receptionist took me to a room with massage chairs and turned on the radio for me and welcomed me to the snacks and beverages available while I waited. Main area of the Facility: It's very clean and inviting. The color palette is soothing and there aren't many overpowering scents which I appreciated. The reception desk is a bit overrun with non-spa products (jewelry, apparel, etc.) and this didn't appeal to me very much. It kind of brings down the elegance of the place and I think it would serve the place well to move that stuff to a separate room. Massage Room: They are very comfortable. There was a dresser which housed the oils and another small corner table that had a boombox. Ashley chose a wonderful CD but I think the experience would have been pushed up another level if there was surround sound - as it was I could hear the music only to the side of me and it was blocked when she had to come around. Therapist: Ashley is outstanding, as I said. She was very attentive to my needs and asked me what was going on before she started. She saw how rounded in my shoulders were and made a point to focus on opening my chest up. The massage was amazing, she was careful not to push my neck beyond that healing soreness into pain and kept asking me my limit to make sure she wasn't over-extending. She's very strong and so knowledgeable of her craft - I can't recommend her enough. Conclusion: I will make it a point to visit every time I'm in the area. I live in NYC and I haven't found a massage therapist as wonderful as Ashley. Space is a hot commodity in NYC and the spaciousness of Tuscany really adds to the relaxation. If there are any New Yorkers in Augusta visiting, stop here and treat yourself. read more

So this happened to me on Saturday. My cousin and I had appointments at Tuscany for massages and we were running about 10 minutes late. I called to make sure it was okay or if we needed to cancel and the receptionist said "No you guys will be fine." So our appointments were at 9:00 am and we got there at 9:08 am. They had us fill out some questions on a clipboard about our skin and massage preferences and came and talked with us. That took about 8 minutes or so. Then they escorted us to our rooms to get undress for our massages. My massage started at 9:20 am and my masseuse stopped at 10:00 am. That was only a 40 minute massage. I got dressed and made it out of the room at 10:05 am. When I walked out of the room my masseuse was waiting outside of the door with water. I immediately said "Why did I only get a 40 minute massage and she said "You were late and I have another client. " I went to the receptionist area to speak with her about what happened. She says you were late as well, but remember I called and asked if it would be a problem. Now my cousin is still in the back getting her massage and doesn't come out until 10:32, her masseuse didn't have another client so she got her full massage. I asked to speak to a manager because I was upset , but she wasn't supposed to be in until 11:00 am. The receptionists told me that they couldn't discount anything for me, but I didn't have to pay anything until I talked with the manager and they would have her call me when she gets in. They said she might discount your services. So I purchased a coffee mug and left waiting on the manager to call so I could explain everything to her. So the owner calls me at 5:22 pm. threatening me. She said "If you don't be in here first thing Monday morning I'm issuing a warrant for your arrest for nonpayment of services. I tried to speak calming to her, but she kept saying "I'm not going to argue with you." Lady I'm not arguing I'm trying to tell you what happened. She didn't want to hear anything I had to say. I asked her "Why are you just calling at closing time?" She replied "I'm at my family reunion and I called to see how the day went and the receptionist said you refused to pay." All lies of course. I've been coming to Tuscany for many years and this was absolutely the worst experience I ever had. The owner Leann Kiles (not sure if spelling is correct) treated me like a criminal and didn't try to make anything right and she even threatened me. Y'all know the type of person I am. I wouldn't dare walk out intentionally on a service without paying. SN: I did go in this morning at 9:00 to make a payment. She was not there. Massages are amazing things... With the right massage therapist. Coming from out of town, a friend recommended that I visit Tuscany to enjoy the best massage in Augusta. He also recommended that I choose the male therapist, David. David is an amazing therapist - he works with your schedule to fit you in. Not only is he professional, his massage is one of the best I've ever gotten. The slow, relaxing strokes with some deep pressure are a highlight of his work. I do have to say that his neck and shoulder work relieved a lot of the tension I didn't even know I had. If you are in need of an awesome massage, David is someone I would highly recommend. Overall, the Tuscany Spa is very nice and the staff seems very friendly. For the I-20 travelers, it is about 5 miles away from the interstate, and is easy to find. Good is good, but nothing has been good about my last 2 massages there. let's start with the loud ticking clocks in the room to "keep time". Gee, that sounds relaxing- a ticking time bomb! let's just relax and pretend we are in North Korea. the cheesy music blares to cover up the sense that the joint may blow up at any moment. if you ask for the music to be lowered or the clock removed, be prepared to have said amateur therapist be very rude to you and even slam the door Don't both responding with what "area to focus on" bc the last two times, the therapists seemed to go through whatever "routine" they had recently learned in school. no intuitive strokes that respond to your areas of tension or need. nope. just robots. last therapist should find another occupation as she has ice cold hands that are limp to boo. you would hope ppl at the front desk would be warm and welcoming but rather are snooty- and for no good reason. decor is outdated and there is nothing fancy or luxurious here. you can hear people talking and moving through the halls during your "relaxing" session. past 3 massages have been bad, this on the worst. not only did girl have cold limp hands that did more of a "petting" than a massage" she was rude as hell. nope, take your business elsewhere. place used to be good in the past, but has done to the dogs. read more

I saw Tara at Tuscany Salon for a couple of months. It. Was. Horrible. Not only was the salon dirty with hair and dust all over the floorboards every time I was there, but even the "art work" was broken and shabby. She was constantly doing personal business while I was in the chair. Not to mention squeezing other clients in while making me wait. NEVER would I recommend this salon, particularly that stylist, to any of my friends, family, or coworkers. To top it off, the prices were way too high for the services provided. I purchased a gift certificate for my wife last Mother's Day. Around the August time frame my wife attempted to redeem and appointments were scarce. She works as a medical provider and her schedule is hectic. I am a military member that has been away quite a bit over the last year and therefore, making the appointments has been difficult, only to be told that there wasn't availability every time she called. Finally, the gift certificate expired and they were quick to point that out, not making any arrangements to honor the gift certificate. I can't imagine why a gift certificate would expire? When I buy Lowe's, Home Depot, or other store gift certificates, they don't expire in 6 months. This is poor customer service. read more

This was my first visit to this establishment and I already booked another appointment today for me and my mom for another massage with the same person. My mom bought 3 Augusta Chronicle daily deals for hair services at this spa and I was horrified at what they did to my hair; two days before Christmas. Dana did my color as part of the package purchased and it was so badly done they tried correcting it 2 times before my mom had even picked me up and it still looked like a color job gone VERY BADLY wrong. They processed color on my hair about 3 times - my head hurt so bad I just wanted to get out of there. My mom had given co-workers the other two certificates and offered to purchase them back so they did not have to experience the unacceptable quality of work that was given to me. The salon is very small, dirty and not worth the $35 she paid for the certificate. They totally ruined my hair and holiday. When my mom took me to another color specialist in the area she said it would be a month before she would recommend any color correction due to the damage done. It was frustrating as a military member when I told them exactly what I wanted which was very simple. And made sure she was aware of the military regulations on hair standards. I could not go back to work until I fixed my hair which I could not do since it was ruined from being over processed. read more

When he cut my hair I asked for long layers and just a trim but he cut over 8 inches off of my hair and made short choppy layers! I walked out with a bad color job and the worst WORST hair cut of my life! I spent 3 years getting my hair all one length to the middle of my back. I walked out in tears. The salon was dirty and nasty. The receptionist washed and styled her hair. The stylist didn't talk to me and all of the stylists spent the entire time having inappropriate conversation with each other. Let me start off by saying that I have never written a review on anything before because I am a pretty reasonable and laid back person. Also, I am not one of the snooty un-pleasable clients who just looks for things to complain about. That being said, I am taking the time to write a review on Tuscany Salon and Day Spa due to my recent experience. It all started with the Augusta Chronicle Daily deal in which I would get $100 dollars worth of service plus a $25 dollar gift certificate for $40 with Dana Spencer. Sounds great right?! WRONG. Long story short I went for a trim (key word trim) and a partial highlight and ended up with 7 inches of my beautiful hair GONE. Dana kept trying to blend the ends unsuccessfully and as a result of her trying to correct the V shaped hack marks the inches started to pile up (on the floor). Finally I asked her what was happening with my haircut, truly baffled that a trim could go so wrong. I had to tell her to just stop before I literally left there with a bob. I sat there trying to collect my thoughts and make sense of it all as the tears started to silently fall from my eyes. I couldn't even begin to think about checking my highlights out at that moment so all I could do was say quietly that was enough and handed her my coupon and walked out of the door. (She was very aware that I was upset and that she messed up but did not apologize or ask how to make it better) It wasn't till I got home and put my hair up in a ponytail when I noticed that only THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY HEAD was blond and the left had one thick lonely and oddly placed streak. That was the icing on top. I made an emergency appt. at another salon the next morning (my birthday) and paid $120 to get it all fixed before my birthday trip to Charleston SC. I called the Leanne, the owner of the salon to kindly explain and give them a chance to make it right by reimbursing me for the cost of correcting Dana's "work", only to be told that it has nothing to do with her that Dana just rents a space. I told her that none the less Dana still represents Tuscany and it makes the salon look bad. Leanne went on rambling about not being affiliated and making absurd Wal-Mart analogies instead of making a heartfelt apology. I was speaking very kindly to her about the whole ordeal and really just trying to make her aware of the situation and all I got back was attitude and virtually no sympathy. She told me to take it up with Dana and see if she wants to refund me anything. So I called Dana. At first she acted like she didn't remember me (does she have so many crying clients who tell her to just stop the haircut that they all blend together?!) Then she recalled last Thursday, and after some discussion said she would give me $20 back but that's all she will do. Well Tuscany Salon and Day Spa, 20 bucks don't cut it (no pun intended) I gave them the benefit of the doubt and the chance to make their disservice right and they insult me. Moral of the story, I give a fair warning to all who dare to go there and if you do end up going there anyways and end up having some sort of problem I can tell you now, don't hold your breath on them trying to fix it. Well, other than offering to do it again... Honestly, after an ordeal like this, would you want to return to have them "correct" the issue? Two words... HELL NO!!! read more
