He is very loud as he holds Zoom business calls at high decibels. When I asked why they allow it because it was incredibly loud and disruptive, the Librarian (middle aged tall white dude with a condescending, sardonic attitude) said it was fine and that he allows him to use the City of Orange Library study space as his office on a daily basis. He said its not against the rules (see the attached picture of the actual rules enacted by the Board of Trustees) and that he has worked at the library for 17 years and can change the rules if he wants to. This place, like much of the Orange County libraries, has great events going on all the time that is fun and interesting for all ages. The selection of media here is insane. Not just books, but CDs, DVDs, and more. This place is preserving history. I don't know who I'd be if I had never visited this library to find the rest of the books in my favorite series as a kid.

Langson Library is one of my favorite places to study on-campus. Not only are there lots and lots…read moreof seats, tables, and cubbies on every floor for students to use, but the books here cover such a wide variety. When you enter the library from the main entrance, you're actually on the SECOND floor, not the first, so don't get confused. When you head down to the first floor, there are tons of computers there for students to use, as well as the Multimedia Resource Center. I used to study on the fourth floor, but switched to studying on the basement floor. Both 4th floor and basement are quiet floors. It's much quieter in the basement floor than on the fourth floor; not many people go there (which I suppose can make it somewhat creepy) but it's a lot easier to focus because there's no whispered conversations going on in the background and nobody always walking around. However, there are some homeless who wander around on the fourth floor, but they don't cause any trouble, so I'm fine with that. The only thing that actually sucks is that I don't get any reception down there.

Not to mention, this library is one of the most safest and cleanest libraries I ever been to. Well granted I was from Long Beach/ LA area so our libraries there are pretty rough to say the least lol. This is such a gem in the Irvine community. The bookstore is behind the University Park library…read more(where you'd park) and isn't accessible from inside the library itself. I love coming in whenever they're open and browsing the new books they've put out for shelving. There's always quite a selection of books, and it can be overwhelming but the bookstore is quite organized. Books are organized by genres, and general fiction is organized by author's last name. Classics have their own wall and that section especially is great for snagging books you need for classes at a fraction of the price you'd find anywhere else. There's a section for children's and middle-grade books as well as a corner for books in different languages (I've noted a lot of Korean and Farsi books!). Prices can vary but unless they're not special editions, they usually range from $1-4, with the majority of the books I've gotten being in the $2 range. The quality of the books can vary as well but they're almost always "like new" or really good, if I were to put a label on them. Each book has a small colored sticker that's a tiny dot on the spine (that aren't sticky, they don't leave residue!) indicating when they've been shelved. Every week, a different color dot is half off. They also usually take donations but I'd call ahead to make sure. This place is entirely run by volunteers and I love that it's been around for as long as it has been. I've found some great gems here and spoken to some lovely people. I highly recommend checking this little store out!

They offer classes (like pajama story time), contests and group activities. Clean and well kept. Combined parking near restaurants so you may need to walk a bit depending on when you go. They do everything in their power to make the visit special for the little ones. They have ongoing games, crafts, fun backpacks and games to check out, coloring sheets, stickers, and story time. My little one always looks forward to coming here. They also have a curb side pickup which is so handy when you got littles passed out on the car. The library may be small but you can put items on hold online and they'll have it ready to pick up. They also have an inter library loan system where they get to borrow books from any library in the US. They recently brought a few items into their library of things including magnet tiles, and a steel tongue drum. This little library feels like a world of possibility at our finger tips and we're so grateful!

The library is about 2 minutes from the beach which makes it perfect for fresh air and a cafe type experience without the noise. Just bring your own coffee. There are plenty of coffee shops and cafes a block away. There are no homeless like at all the other libraries. This is a small neighborhood library that keeps with the tradition of what a library is supposed to be. Free wifi and again..no homeless. Great kids section with regular scheduled kid activities on yhe weekends. I am a fan and then some. Great neighborhood library!
