This was a fun place to grab a pizza and sub. Quite a large menu, you'll surely find something you like if you like at least something Italian. This is a bring your own wine sort of place, which worked out well for us, staying so close by. We are hyper-critical Cherry Hill foodies who often cook at home to avoid the inevitable dining out disappointment. Italian restaurants can be very polarizing as we all have something to compare it to. Tried this place after several recommendations from friends, and they were right - from the starter bread -a garlic butter-slight tomato bread, the stromboli (we shared just to taste) with side dipping tomato sauce, to our dinner pasta and salad. Both had perfectly cooked pasta (al dente please!), wife had Pasta with Sicilian Style Sauce, and I had the Pasta with Garlic, Oil and Anchovies. Huge portions which mean nothing if it isn't good, but this was both craveable and shareable. We ended up bringing 1/2 of everything home for a second if not third round. Really a 3.5 Good food, so so atmosphere. There are so many great Italian restaurants in the area. Dizzying number of choices. And since I grew up in this area, it was amazing that I'd never actually eaten here as it's a mainstay in this part of Cherry Hill. For a combine birthday / Mother's day celebration, we had 5:00 PM Saturday reservations. The ambiance was a little confusing - kinda mom and pop, kinda wanna be upscale with black table cloths and a more private room in the back for larger parties. Service was nice, but I HATE HATE HATE when dirty dishes sit on the table while you are waiting for the next round of food to come. Bread was lovely. This is a solid, neighborhood, traditional Italian restaurant serving up everything from pizza and sandwiches to fresh seafood, all at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable and the service is adequate. The food is fresh and on par with what you would expect from a traditional old school Italian restaurant. I ordered the clams and mussels over linguine which was loaded with shellfish cooked to perfection over linguine in a red sauce that tasted homemade. The portion was a good size and I really enjoyed this dish. Others in our party loved their meals which included shrimp cacciatore, shrimp parmigiana, a sausage and peppers sandwich, and eggplant manicotti style. We shared the fried calamari for an app which was only the rings and not the other parts of the squid that we love, but was cooked just right nonetheless. I saw other table ordering pizza, calzones, and Stromboli which looked delicious and tempted us to come back just for that. Solid 3.5, came here with my family for a big family dinner there were 7 of us. We were seated right away (my Mom may have made a reservation). Service was attentive and they were definitely on top of things with refills on water etc. Can only speak to my meal and the bread, garlic bread and other bread was served fresh and warm, was pretty tasty. I got the carbonara. I choose the noodles (I know it's usually spaghetti but I don't like spaghetti) and they were cooked well...I didn't really love the prosciutto ham and bacon...would rather it have been the traditional fattier pancetta but didn't take away from the dish too much. I have dinned at Michaelangelo's Italian Restaurant many times and taken out even more times than I can remember. Always enjoyed my food. I ordered for the first time Veal Parmesan. When it came out it was over cooked all away around the edges. Like burnt toast. I am not one to do this but told the waitress I could not eat it like this. She said I would have another one made for you. The owner came storming out of the kitchen (I real mean that) very hostile showing me the center was tender and said he would not make another one. I should order something else. As if I should eat around the burnt part. I can't express how mad he was in this blog. I am 69 years old and never saw anything like this. So what I would say is make sure you like what you order Michaelangelo's Italian Restaurant and never complain unless you want to have a hostile owner at your table. read more

For pizza this place is really good. I would get their pizza any time. I give it a 4.5, maybe higher. For sandwiches, it leaves a lot to be desired. I've gotten sandwiches there several times either thinking that I would give another try or just forgetting how bad they are. At this point we've tried maybe 8 different sandwiches/wraps/ panini's/steaks. None of them have been good, with the exception of the cheesesteak. The chicken cheesesteak was not. They serve the wraps hot, so when we got home and ate them a few minutes later, they were a watery mess. There is no or not enough seasoning, on the grilled chicken or the cutlets. So the sandwiches are ALWAYS so bland. The chicken is a little rubbery. Most of the sandwiches run around $15. The prices are above average and the taste is below average. I want this place to be better. And if they ever made any changes I would gladly update my review. read more

Get the Chicken Orzo soup! The best ever created by mankind! The Pescatore was more than adequate. 4 shrimp, a dozen clams and a full two dozen mussels with crabmeat over linguine. The white sauce left something to be desired as it was lacking flavor. Get the red. Chicken Parm was ok. Not great but very good and plenty. Service was outstanding as various personnel were more than attentive to our every whim. Ambiance is a step above your usual strip mall joint as you can expect a cloth tablecloth and cloth tableware. Nice restaurant in Cherry Hill, nice ambiance and plenty of seating (indoor and outdoor. They also have takeout. Our waitress Paula was initially attentive but she disappeared on our party of five. Had a wonderful time here! Came on a Saturday night. It was calm and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. The staff were extremely polite and the service was fast! Everything we had was good, though I found the starter salads to be a bit lackluster. Would have been nice if some vegetables (onions, tomatoes, etc.) were included. We had the carbonara (yum! The pizza was very undercooked and bland, the cheese is cheap and greasy, the sauce is terrible and the mozzarella sticks and fries are cheap, frozen, overpriced garbage. Really awful. Tonight we ordered from Door dash ..we wanted 3 meals from our favorite Italian restaurant. Somehow one 2 of 3 dinners arrived. I called the restaurant and Vinnie told me he would fix it. Michaelangelos has been the point of many great family memories. It's a very convenient location in cherry hill as it is somewhat in the middle. We come here probably once every other week - the meals and service never disappoint. I usually go with Veal Parm, shrimp & Scallops Fra Diavlo but last night I went with Pasta Dolce Vita, it was spectacular. Each dinner comes with salad and soup. The apps are good and are a good sized, we went with the sampler as well as calamari. 5/5 every time for a cheap and quick family dinner with massive portions. read more

I'm not sure what to even say. I walked in with my party and they looked at us as if we were confused. No problem, just weird. As we went to go get seated, the person who sat us looked upset. Probably understaffed. Still, it took about 6-10 minutes trying to locate someone to bring us drinks. This guy ignored us the whole time, as if it was too much to take our drinks. Fine. This woman came out and asked the guy if he had helped us. He said "No, I'm busy with those tables there." Funny enough he came back to help "serve" us. Finally they got these 2 women to serve us but it felt rushed. They kept trying to take our FULL plates away and never showed up to refill our drinks. Maybe just once to refill but by then we were already done with our food (mostly to go). The Alfredo was okay, definitely needed more salt. The steak sandwich my fiancé got was so flavorless he had to add seasoning too. Everyone at the other side of the restaurant were well taken care of but not us. They wouldn't let you sit there for 40 minutes either without taking your order. I have brought many nationalities of my friends to this place and never had a problem. Pro-Yelp-Tip: they have a check-in offer for 10% off your takeout and dine-in order; although the two guys working the register weren't aware of it they kindly still honored it. The food was packaged up nicely, however put kind of awkwardly in a cardboard box. It was a bit of a struggle for me to transport this dinner for four without dropping anything. I went with the eggplant parmesan sandwich and it was fine. It was neither stellar nor horrible. I've had better eggplant, but you do need to take into account seasonality I supposed. The roll was hardy and tasted fresh. The sauce and mozzarella were neither here nor there. Was I super impressed by my sandwich? Nope.
